  • The 5 Best Transmissions Make These Cars Great
    Today I'm showing you the best cars available today because of their transmissions. These are some of the best transmissions that actually change the driving experience so much that these become bigger, better luxury cars!
    We'll talk about BMW, Porsche, and more and we'll show how your transmission turns your car into an amazing driving experience. I'll also explain what a DCT transmission is, a CVT, and even a couple of other kinds you'll want to know about.
    Where we believe that Life's Too Short To Drive Boring Cars so we just don't and you shouldn't either.

    Coming from my personal experience with a CVT I can tell you that a car equipped with that kind of transmission will never, ever, ever.......EVER be in my garage. Other than that great video as always.

      Thank you very much and I totally agree. I personally would never own a CVT car. Just no soul or raw passion that you would find in a dual clutch system being the total opposite.

      LOL, especially if its from Jatco. Stupidly bought a Nissan Primera CVT for my wife back in the day - actually a really great car - except for the insanely bad Jatco CVT transmission. We traded that turkey in on a Toyota Matrix in under a year.

      They and Audi are the brands that seem to purposefully enjoy putting as many owners into bankruptcy as possible, or at least try to. All that fancy interior, looks, wheels ect is a distraction to what’s hidden from view to the naïve not knowing what they are truly about. Hi $$$ repair, rinse and repeat. If you really want to take it dry from behind just buy a Ferrari. Then you will learn what it looks like to have mechanics laugh in your face, oops. That happens to many Audi and BMW owners as well. Also the B58 has some serious serviceability issues with the odd timing layout meaning you have to remove the engine to replace the timing guides and tensioner - still it's a genuinely decent modern inline 6 so it still gets my love.

      The B58 engine is also very reliable which is why Toyota picked it up for the Supra. Get the B58 with the ZF8 and you can go 300,000 miles with regular oil changes. And…. It drives like a BMW.

    • @zlord1199
      @zlord1199 2 года назад +2

      Keep up will all the basic maintenance and do alot of preventive maintenance and they will last over 200k. Change oil no later then 6k miles and use really good quality oil. Replace all major cooling system components no later then 100k miles. Don't drive the bmws like it's a race car every single day the engine and transmission will wear much faster when you drive them like that too much.

      I had a 2012 650i with a six speed manual and the N63 V8. I drove it 100,000 miles needing only rear brakes and a set of ignition coils. . . and oil changes and lots of summer racing tires. Car was super reliable and had very predictable maintenance costs. No leaks anywhere. But, you definitely need to change the oil every 5 or 6,000 miles and check your fluid levels after every second fill up. I got rid of the car at 100,000 miles because, in all honesty, BMW’s scare the hell out of me. I was told by my tech that WHEN a turbo goes out, it costs $8,000 per turbo to replace and you should replace both at the same time. I was not in the mood to invest $16,000 in a car that was worth $20,000. But I loved that car!!!

      The Toyota A series are almost without exception very durable - but yeah they are often soft and slow to change - but that's mainly due to the valving and software which for a lot of the transmissions in the series, can be sorted out after-market quite easily.

    CVTs are the drum machines of car transmissions. Zero soul. Also...
    CVT = an average (key point) horrible driving experience & can be a reliability nightmare as well. Have a son who's does service advising for a living, attests to the reliability problems & has for years (at least for them in hot weather climates). Some car companies are going back away from CVT due to the vast majority of the public hating them.
    People with things often defend those things even though they know they should be admitting what is. CVTs are one of those items. I leased a car with a CVT for 2 years so before you CVT folks try to say I don't have experience with them, try something else.
    Also - nearly every single professional car enthusiast / reviewer openly say in their reviews that CVTs suck, often they'd like a car if not for that thing alone, so there's that. Discount it if you want but it's how they perceive them.
    Finally, there's a difference between saying most people hate the typical CVT driving experience & saying a CVT will leave you stranded beside the road. There are plenty of CVT offerings that aren't
    likely to leave you stranded but that still doesn't mean I want to drive one of those rubber-band winding slush boxes.
