Quran prohibits any compulsion in religion (2:256). The Prophet was specifically directed by God "You are not there to compel them to believe" Quran 50:39. And none can change God's words (6:115). President of Islamic Information Center, confirms "No death Penalty" for apostates.

but how can we reconcile this with verse 89 and 90 of Sura Nisa. and when Allah mentioned in the quran about those who change their religion every now and then that Allah won't accept their repentance.
so if it is mentioned that they change their religion back and forth how does this show that they were killed the first time they changed their faith

It is referring to a specific type of ppl who take advantage of the religion and mess with it. U know the ppl who say “when u convert, all of ur sins are wiped away”? Some sleazy munafiqs took advantage but Allah clearly says that u can’t do this. As the sheikh mentioned, u can’t be executed for simply converting out of Islam. The authorities can decide if u have taken it to an extent where u are the enemy of Allah and his messenger. But authorities have studied sharia for their whole lives, I’m sure they’ll justly take care of the situation

Some Zanadiqa (atheists) were brought to 'Ali and he burnt them. The news of this event, reached Ibn 'Abbas who said, "If I had been in his place, I would not have burnt them, as Allah's Apostle forbade it, saying, 'Do not punish anybody with Allah's punishment (fire).' I would have killed them according to the statement of Allah's Apostle, 'Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him.'"
