A classic reminder valid for everyone saying "you can't achieve nothing without me" is not a good way to stop a break up, it's a phrase that usually push the one that want to go away harder in that direction.

We have a failed Education system and a broken NHS health service which is down to the SNP. Dundee is the drug capital of Europe, £45 million pounds lost in the Ferguson Shipyard and Bi Fab, No mention of security for Scotland. Air Force, Navy, Army. Christ we can't even build a ferry on time. Currency? OAP pensions,, Disability allowances, we in Scotland already pay the highest taxes? Garunteed anything free will have to be paid for. Prescriptions, Bus travel etc. We are definitely not Bonnie Scotland but Broken Scotland thanks purely to the SNP. Sturgeon even lied in the Alex Salmond enquiry or just forgot again!! I lost my job as a miner in the 80s during the Thatcher years but can honestly say that this is without doubt the very worst time in my life purely down to the SNP and especially Nicola Sturgeon. Personally I prefer Sterling in my pocket not Bank of Sturgeon money. One woman's dream and a once proud country's nightmare.

Why was the 2014 referendum not enough? "Because we didn't sign up for brexit". Well if you vote to remain part of a union of 4 countries you should accept the consequences that the 4 countries all vote and we have to respect the outcome. So Scotland votes to remain in UK 2014, UK decides to leave EU, Scotland now wants to leave UK. It doesn't make sense.

There are 5 vital contributors to growth and development in a country. These include natural resources, a skilled population, access to trading markets, well-functioning products and sectors to trade with, and a supportive financial services system. Scotland possesses all of these in abundance, suggesting the country’s capability to boost its economic growth.
With independence, Scotland would have the ability to become a more prosperous nation, holding the power to create bespoke and sustainable economic growth strategies.
The value of Scotland's proven reserves per UK resident under the current fiscal regime is $1,020. If an independent Scotland mirrored Norway's tax & ownership structure over oil, the value would be $27,479 per Scottish resident.

But when you look at the Scottish governments own figures they only put oil revenue at £724 million last year
In fact oil revenues have been hit hard over the last few years since the USA started fracking and brought the price of oil right down.
      www.gov.scot/publications/government-expenditure-revenue-scotland-gers-2019-20/
It’s all very well saying we have $150 Billion worth of oil yet to be brought up from the North Sea.
But remember that doesn’t translate into $150Bn for the Scottish government.
private companies will have to spend billions first to explore and find out where it is.
Then spend billions more extracting it from the sea floor.
Also it could take many years to extract all of that oil so the $37,000 per head would be minus the costs of getting it out of the sea floor
Minus the profits made by the companies.
      Split over 30 years.
The SNP green coalition are already talking about the transition away from oil and some of their MSPs have suggested not giving out any new drilling licenses.
The oil industry in Scotland will likely carry on for the next 20-30years but it will be 20-30 years of slow decline unfortunately.
75% of Scotland’s GDP is generated in the service sector.
60% of all the products and services we sell go to the rest of the U.K.
      Only 19% goes to Europe
      www.gov.scot/binaries/content/gallery/ess-2018---webpage-graphic-png
How can it possibly be a good thing for Scotland to leave our biggest customer In favour of a much smaller one.
Would it not be better for Scotland’s service sector if we had trade deals with other English speaking countries like Canada, Australia and the world’s biggest economy the USA?
It’s much easier for the Scottish service sector to do business with these countries rather than EU ones who speak multiple different languages to ourselves.
      Scotland raises £65Bn in tax
      www.gov.scot/publications/government-expenditure-revenue-scotland-gers-2019-20/pages/1#TableS.3
      And spends £81Bn
      www.gov.scot/publications/government-expenditure-revenue-scotland-gers-2019-20/pages/5/
      The Deficit is £15Bn
Nicola sturgeon has acknowledged that Scotland has a large deficit as-well.

@@Dayl_Adams I will never argue with facts. Scotland's use of renewable energy is very high.
Regarding oil though ... you say Scotland can still make money from oil despite it being frowned upon to a certain extent these days.
It’s all very well saying Scotland has so many billions worth of oil yet to be brought up from the North Sea but remember that doesn’t translate into billions for the Scottish government.
Private companies will have to spend billions first to explore and find out where other oil fields are and then spend billions more extracting it from the seafloor.
The SNP green coalition are already talking about the transition away from oil and some of their MSPs have suggested not giving out any new drilling licenses so I've read.
75% of Scotland’s GDP is generated in the service sector. 60% of all the products and services Scotland sells, go to the rest of the U.K. Only 19% to 20% goes to Europe.
"Under the present arrangement the oil tax revenues are assigned to an economic region set up by the UK government, which is called the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS).
This means that oil resources are not officially assigned to Scotland but instead to a region distinct from the British mainland.
But if Scotland were to become independent, and a sovereign state, it would expect the UKCS to be divided up on a "geographical" basis.
Prof Alex Kemp, from the University of Aberdeen, is the leading expert on Scotland's oil industry.
He says if Scotland were to become independent the "median line" principle would be the "obvious one" to use.
This means drawing a dividing line on which all points are the same distance from the Scottish and rest of the UK (RUK) coastline.
Prof Kemp says this is the method which was used when the North Sea was originally divided up between the UK and other countries in the 1960s.
The most important treaty was signed between the UK and Norway in 1965 using the median line, although later, when the oil began to flow in the Norwegian sector, there were many who said the UK had been far too lenient.
The median line approach was also used to determine the boundary between Scotland and the rest of the UK for fisheries after devolution in 1999.
On this occasion, the line was effectively imposed on Scotland by Westminster and there were opponents who said that it took away a large amount of Scottish territory.
The median line produces an oddly curved line which because of the peculiarities of the coastline heads steeply north and at some points is level with Dundee, about 100 miles from the border at Berwick.
It is the same principle as the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS)."

So the billions in COVID relief is literally fake made up money with almost zero real value.
Currency is something they literally can’t do as every single fiat currency in the world has downright fraudulent interest rates at the moment and we’re about to see a devaluation like there’s never been before. Check the US M1 money stock for further details and the scariest graph you’ll ever see.
The money from the Bank of England is basically fake and not really based on anything especially at the moment so if Scotland wanted to it could use the EU as a proxy and stake oil reserve money with them in exchange for a new hard currency ie the Euro. It’s almost the same as the pound in relation to other world currencies and both are about as valuable as each other in relation to commodity prices so I don’t think that’s an issue that would take more than an afternoon to sort out.
The hard border with England is actually more of an issue than people realise, there’s no formal military for Scotland and I’m almost certain the regiments based north of the border would remain as British regiments and as subjects of the Queen, meaning that there would almost definitely be a military presence in Scotland by England, Wales & Northern Ireland, at least for a short period.
It actually raises a further more important political point (especially regarding where and how we decide what legitimises power) if the Queen of England would still be head of our state?
If the answer is yes then why leave and if no then who head of the state and why? (This has crazy complications when you understand how power was first devolved and how intricate the marriage of church and state are.

It is incredible how the pressure from the annual Scottish Herald's readers independence poll (Now hidden search keywords - Readers Poll 2022) turns all the Scottish Pro Unionists and Loyalists here into serial liars. Sir Edward Boyle would be proud, for his law still stands. The greater the external pressure, the greater the volume of the Unionist's Hot Air.
When 88% of the largest Independence poll ever in 2022 (over 18,300) vote for Independence, I would say the game is over, and the English-dominated Westminster Government of Scotland lost.
Note how the pro-Union owners of the Scottish Herald and national did their best to not only hide the result in the sister paper, the Scottish National, but they buried the link so deep I have to give you secret search keywords to find the poll. Even then, Newsquest buried it right at the bottom after the usual 1K London-based polling companies used by the Unionist BBC, Times of London, Sky News, Express and all the rest.

All of this is possible because I have money and thankfully the United States of America exists so she can be cared for properly, if it was up to the blessed NHS (that I and she have contributed tens of if not hundreds of thousands of pounds to) she would be waiting until she was 70. That’s 3 years waiting.

But they didn't in 2014 and nor will they for the next one. Nor did the EU with brexit. So no, it's not even slightly strange that Sturgeon cannot provide the fine details. Just as with Brexit, a pro-independence vote will be a leap of faith.

If the Scots want to have a vote, they should be able to have it - BoJo doesn't want it because a) it would be super embarrassing to him if he lost Scotland (a real though not certain possibility), b) Scotland does add to Britain's economic weight and whilst not a massive loss for Britain, it would certainly be a loss and would make many countries wonder as to the actual stability and power of Britain, and c) might break the spell over English voters BoJo has (although I doubt it - I genuinely wonder if there is anything he could do that would wake the self-destructive idiots wake up at this point)
As for if Scotland should go independent, it's obviously up to them, I'm not a Scot and can only state my views as an outsider, but it seems to me that:
    a) In the event of independence, a hard border with England would heavily affect Scottish trade.
    i) As a side note, this presents a problem with joining the EU - what economic studies have been done suggest that (at least initially) an open (or near open) border to trade with England would be more beneficial to Scotland than full membership of the EU. Obviously, this is very dependent on the exact nature of any trade agreement with England or the EU - membership of the EU does pretty much mean there would have to be a hard border with England whilst England has no real trade agreement with the EU.
    b) Politically, however, Scotlands electoral system genuinely seems to represent the people of Scotland alot better than the Westminster parliament's represents English people. Additionally, the UK parliament has been overly dominated by the Tories for a decade now and its clear thats not a choice the Scots want (as an Englishman, I can say I don't want the Tories with absolute power either, but our system favours the big two parties over everyone else). Politically, I can see Scots wanting the power over their own country that they don't currently have.
I guess it comes down to whether Scots hate the control the Westminster government has over Scotland more than the possible economic harm that could occur. Neither approach is without risk.
