    I'd like to say that I've been using the singing success and mastering mix programs by myself, it's been only about two years since I've started and I'm better than any singer I've yet met. I just got mastering harmony a couple weeks ago and I can already distinguish the vibrations between different intervals. Guys, if you want to sing, ta-da! Here's the best you will ever get, seriously! Any better would be a genie in a fucking bottle. Brett, I am seriously in your debt.

    Watch Chanelle Fagan (our newest certified coach) work with Brett Manning. She has had extensive classical education & training but sought out Brett Manning and Singing Success to help her create a more commercial sound. She is now teaching at our studio in Nashville.

      I love the exercises used here, especially the MEOW, which Brett says combines all the resonators. Can that exercise be used before singing a song? What is the time difference between Singapore and Nashville if I wish to schedule a skype lesson with Chanelle? I am like her, coming from a classical tradition and seeking to sound super commercial.

    • @singingsuccess
      @singingsuccess  10 лет назад

      Singapore is 13 Hours ahead of Nashville (per Google search). So, you would need to schedule a Skype for 11pm your time (which would be 10am in Nashville) or 8am (which would be 7pm in Nashville). Of course this also depends on scheduling and availability.
      We will do whatever we can to help accommodate! send us an email to booking@singingsuccess.com

      I really get what you're saying...I'm blessed enough to have felt like that, just a very few times in my life...all while singing...It can be really powerful, it's like it makes you think that singing (or I believe any art form for that matter) is really about something else, if you make use of it to try to refine your perception or soul, whatever you wanna call it. Anyway, thanx for sharing your thoughts!

    Hi.
    Could you help me with low notes. How to improve low notes. When I try to sing low E or F. My voice becomes soft and quiet. And if I try to push it (make it lowder) it breaks. It was always a struggle for me. So how should I train my low notes faster and better? Thank you.

    An I want to sing like Mariah Carey, what kind of vocal warm ups do I need to do to be able to sing stylistically like Mariah? I feel like thats the kind of voice type I have an I dont want to do to many vocals warm ups to push me to being a classical singer.

    • @Ignasimp
      @Ignasimp 7 лет назад +4

      Doing more or less vocal warm ups wont make you a classical singer. It's the kind of exercices you do what makes you have a more classical or contemporary sound.

    Hey, My problem is I can hit whistle notes but only for like a few minutes then I cant reach them for hours or either the next day. Its like those notes are cut off for a while then out of no where I can do it. but what can I do to be able to keep those notes an not get vocal fatigue or my voice getting tired very quick? Also one last thing I try to do lip trills but I can do them that high tho I can hit the notes regularly but when I try to warm up with a lip trill I can get that high with it why is that?

    I CANNOT for the life of me do any excersizes without it hurting my throat. I don't understand at all how to use my diaphragm. If I just knew what it was supposed to feel like, I'd be able to practice :(
    If you can help that would be extremely appreciated

      +Seba Melmann Agreed with everything you just mentioned, especially on cord closure. Brett's exercises on falsetto really help.

    • @Jacob-ry3lu
      @Jacob-ry3lu 8 лет назад +1

      First of all, you must change the way you think about singing and developing your voice. Singing well and powerfully takes incredible athelticism and musculature. There is nothing that you are going to just "get" overnight. You won't one day go AHA! and be able to use your diaphragm effectively. You are already using your diaphragm, or else you wouldn't be able to breathe. The thing is, your diaphragm is weak because casual breathing requires very little effort and singing requires a great deal of support. So keep practicing the breathing and it will continue to get stronger. The mistake is in looking for a "trick" or a secret that will unlock your voice. Developing your voice is similiar to building bigger biceps or legs. Your voice will be weak at first, and it will be frustrating at first but after years of practice, you will be able to lift heavy weights with ease, and there is no trick or gimmick around that other than discipline and hard work.

    • @josht617
      @josht617 8 лет назад

      +jacob lahr That's exactly the thing I needed to hear. Thanks man. I've continued to practice since I posted this comment forever ago and I definitely feel better about my voice now compared to then.

    • @Ignasimp
      @Ignasimp 7 лет назад +1

      Eficient singing doesn't take a lot of musculature. Great singers say they just do the same effort to speak and to sing. In fact, in singing you need to get rid of tensions that block the sound that are caused by compesatory muscles.

    • @Jacob-ry3lu
      @Jacob-ry3lu 7 лет назад +2

      +Ignasi Martí Palet The constriction is caused by the engagement of the wrong muscles, but singing is indeed very athletic. Great singers don't need to use so much effort because their inspiratory muscles are well-developed, as well as their registers and muscle-coordination, all of which comes with time. The point I was trying to get across is that you shouldn't look for the trick or gimmick to singing well, its a long process that takes years to master, no singer in the world would attribute all their success to one little gimmick that helped them to sing. They would all say, probably, that it took years of practice and hardwork. Nothing that happens over night, certainly.

      Tietenkin. Miau, nei ja ng on SS/MM:n parhaita harjoitteita, ja jos et tiedä miten niitä käytetään tai mitä niillä yritetään saavuttaa ne varmasti vaikuttavat todella huvittavilta. :) Jos taas yrität opetella uutta koordinaatiota unohdat miltä kuulostat/näytät ja keskityt koordinaatioon.
      EDIT: Oho, tässähän käydään tuo Buh-äänikin. Noilla neljällähän pitäs mixi aueta aivan hyvin, sitten vaan jotain kirkastavia skaaloja äällä tai aalla ja se on siinä.

      She is seeking to do it professionally. Why should she not be serious about these exercises?

  • @SafiiBox
    @SafiiBox 9 лет назад +17

    If she was classically trained she wouldn't 'pump' air, she would have to use the air she has so that its used economically. Less about air woth high notes. Its more about support. She would also be raising her cheekbones up to get the pitch and sound more efficiently.. I don't think she was taught very well.

      fact

    • @Ignasimp
      @Ignasimp 7 лет назад +5

      That's exactly what I was thinking. Breath support is not to use a lot of air but to use it eficiently.

    • @Nils3OWN
      @Nils3OWN 7 лет назад +1

      SafiiBox Pumping more air and supporting more are literally the same thing in this context. You don't use poor support on low sounds, you use less air - less pumping. You can't raise your cheekebones, they are solid. Singing is about relaxing your muscles either way, so even if you could, you shouldn't. You form the sound by shaping your throat and mouth differently, tension-less.
