I listened to this ages ago and was captivated by it instantly, but I've never had any sort of formal musical training and so the genre has always been sort of a mystery to me. This week I finally took the plunge, started diving into some theory lessons, and bought a chromatic harmonica. Excited to see where this takes me!
@@FilipJersMusicYou are a really Good musician. I read your Patreon, but sadly I am not intermediate but a noob in this instrument. Would You recomend me another Master for noobies like me?
Beautiful! Its magical. I still cant get the hang of the chromatic..but I like hazing around with the diatonic! and the double sided puck! You play so well!
You have a great swing. I love it. I can hear a Miles Davis influence in your choice of notes. I am a jazz musician myself so I understand what you are doing, and, you do it very well.
Hello, I like your music on the harmonica, I start with this beautiful instrument, could you recommend me some method or material to study? greetings and thanks :)
Is that a G48 you are playing? If so, is it the wooden sided model of the metal one? I play the blue metal one but was thinking of making some wooden sides for it. Cheers
Hi! Thanks for your question! I would say intermediate or advanced. Those levels also mean different levels to different people, so it is hard to say a general answer. But if you are able to play the melody on this song and are starting to improvise - you are intermediate. If you can play this song and improvise but want to develop your improvisation more, you are advanced level. Hope this helps, Filip
@@FilipJersMusic Thank you for your answer. I'm in the third category, I think, or maybe between intermediate and advanced. And I do want to develop my ability to improvise. Can you help with that?
Kev G. Generally, professional Chromatic Harmonicas come in the key of C. The chromatic harmonica contains all 12 notes, thus enabling music to be played in all 12 keys on one instrument.
Abe Thomas Well in looking into this and going to the local music store I find there are a wide variety of keys for the Chromatics so my question remains. But thanks anyway.
The kid "SWINGS!"...he's done his "homework" thats for sure!.. "Toots" would be proud of him !....
Outstanding
Bravo, bravissimo!!!👏👏👌👌

i dunno why but when you started humming it made me think of Fats Waller ^_^
Great performance and arrangement. One miniscule observation - the Shure SM58 is slightly too bright for my tastes.
Thanks! Yes the SM58 is a bit bright in some registers...
@@FilipJersMusic they're known for it. As a live vocal mic they work beautifully. Shure promotes them for it.

You mean everywhere but the things around 2:55?
I think Filip meant to type "Yes everywhere, the tongues around 2:55" and he does use the tongue to play the intervalic bit at 2:55.
I had to come back for another listen. Do you have a band? Where can I buy your CDs?
Please record some material...shame you haven't yet!!
Nice Filip. How long have you been playing?
Hi Filip, do you like this as much as the Sirius S56C?
Yes, actually more... Or I don't know. I am more accurate on 12 or 16 holes.
@@FilipJersMusic ah okay :) thanks you
What Key? And are you cross tuned on this?
IamUncledeuce Chromatic harmonica in C.
@landztranz Yes everywhere the things around 2:55,

Filip, you are also a teacher. What level of student would you teach this improv to?

if you dont mind me asking, what do you use to sync the audio to the video?
I was wondering whether the hand clap at the start is a reference marker.
You remind me of Benny Goodman on the clarinet
Thanks! He is fantastic.
What's the best key to buy?
Kev G. Generally, professional Chromatic Harmonicas come in the key of C. The chromatic harmonica contains all 12 notes, thus enabling music to be played in all 12 keys on one instrument.

Kev G. there is no best key if your looking for the most common key than C is the answer but there are a lot of songs that require different keys
