This is how the Dutch celebrate their Olympic medal winners - Femke Bol - TeamNL house - Paris 2024

- In the 90's the Dutch Olympic Committee organised a Holland House to have a central place for athletes, families and sponsors etc. to meet and celebrate during the Games. This grew and at some point fans were allowed to join and it got bigger and bigger. Many countries copied this idea, but nobody does it like the Dutch. Am I biased? Sure, but I stand my statement. 😁
This vid shows the celebration of Femke Bol and the relay teams. I stoped the video at some point, but I can tell you the party went on late.
Femke breaks Irish hearts. Well done to your team, you did great. Best wishes from Ireland.
Congrats to you too.
Femke Bol seems so sweet and slightly embarrassed by all the attention.
Her and Hassan are so inspiring! Never count them out, no matter how far back they are, it ain't over til it's over.
Every four years I tell everyone who cares(nobody) that as an Olympian you have to go the NL House. It is the place to be during the Olympics.
only with an orange shirt!
Femke Bol runs for her country and not for her; if she concentrates on her individual events; nobody can beat her! She can set world records at will in 400metres !
And a Dutch family name is a wonderful thing!
i love Femke she is my favorite athlete in the whole olympics she is sweet talented sensitive adorable and seems so nice and down to earth . The band is great what a cover of we are the champions not an easy song to play live
Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medalist winner, Femke Bol, is still the best in my books - sure she had a bad runner against Sydney, but it happens to the best of the best at times - we are only human. Congratulations Ms. Femke Bol. I love you Femke❤ - now, just think of the saying from the movie "The Terminator" - "I'll be back!" And, think of the song "Eye of the Tiger," by Foreign - the theme song to one of the Rocky movies. And, congratulations to the entire Dutch Olympic Team!!!
I'm American with Dutch roots. Who's house would I be in? Holland House. Who did I root for 2 Olympics in a row? Femke Bol and the rest of the Dutch athletes. That will not change. Don't get me wrong, I'm true to the Americans too. But it's the Dutch souls that touch me.
Thank you so much for letting us know your background and who your heart is with..that was so touching. I’ll sleep so much better from now on just knowing this
This is how you celebrate your athletes. Well done Netherlands.
Great to see the smiles on those faces, they have done you proud. Especially pleased to see Femke back smiling, she seems a special person indeed.
Can't beat that.. that's real support.. if you can't love what the dutch do for their people then maybe you don't have a soul..
Amazing. Im german, but i root for the netherlands at all 400m disciplines.
From a UK guy, celebrate being 6th and beating us! Those last dash relay medals and marathon win made the difference!
@@vlinder0108 The Olympics in Ancient Greece only had gold medals. I guess it's in that spirit that silver and bronze medals don't count for the classification.
@@vlinder0108 That is because of the disproportinal sizes of country delegations. You have way more options if you come with 300 than when you come with 30. That is the reasson the "offical classification" is Gold medals. But not to be disheartened, in total medal count we came in 11th which is still punching far above our weight.
@@RamRoxillo There were no medals in Ancient Greece. Winners got rewarded with an Olive Wreath and a jug of Olive Oil and of course "eternal fame and adoration", sometimes even a statue. But no... no Gold medals. A better way would be saying "only the winner counted"
@@mavadelo - Total Medal Count vs Top Gold Medals vs Medal/Capita. Hey, I only thought about the first two comparisons until a commentator mentioned the third. Gotta admit, it is VERY impressive for smaller, especially tiny island nations, to win medals ( of any color ). Any way you slice it, any winner is impressive. Sure, athletes are supported more in certain countries ( $$$ / coaching / technology ), but on the other hand, it is on a case-by-case basis. It's not like every sport in the U.S. is supported lucratively. Nope. And then the mental game is where any other individual from any other nation around the world can have the edge. The mental game is vital to any competition.
@@machtnichtsseimann Yeah, in the per capita listings some of the smaller nations rightfully make their appearance. And I agree, every medal is an achievement in and of itself. But as country, you simply have more chances to get medals if you bring 597 athletes like the USA vs the 10 a country like Lebanon brings. That is not to cr@p on the USA, that is just statistics.
The Dutch are a very civilized and intelligent people. You could do a lot worse than to move there if you are unhappy with results of the presidential election.
You should see how they celebrate speed skaters.
The Dutch are Fantastic Speed Skaters. Gives the USA soo much headaches in the Skating Ring.
You are all sooo great!!! All the best from Germany ❤
NL punches WAY above their weight in sports.
True words
They are also very strong in the Winter Olympics, especially in the speedskating events!
Femke Bol single-handedly challenges the domination of USA in 400 metres running! Great running! I hope she gets a few more sprinters to help her!
Bla bla bla....
@@henkoosterink8744 Too dumb to comment huh
She is brilliant to watch ... the ultimate comeback heartbreaker ... (broke Irish hearts in the 4x400).
This is how you celebrate the spirit of Olympics!!!
Netherlands are so good in Sports, as a small country like holland, they are soo wonderfull and great country, holland is very small country but they are very BIG , congratulations Netherlands.
De 6e plaats in het Medaille Klassement, hoe gaaf is dat!! Duitsland OP plaats 10 Met bijna 3x zoveel deelnemers 🤣🤣🤣
lekker🤣
Ja, ook dat was genieten.

A very small country but great in achievements!
Small Country?

That's what I would call a United Nederlands... love from the USA.
I love Femke Bol, she has the most sincere smile. And a killer work ethic. I am going to meet a girl just like her. heheheh
Talents like her......really have made the 400m hurdle popular.........................
Nobody in the past really are about this event for women
dank ui veld i am so happy you did this filming. it's wonderful!!!
🎉this is awesome🎉 well-done all of the Dutch athletes!
I'd rather be at the Dutch House than my USA house after watching This!
A small country reached, the 6e place on the medal ranking. Higher than Germany, Engeland, Spain and Italy❤
Note: Both GB and Italy won more TOTAL medals than the NL, but each trailed them in golds.
@@trwent Hahahaaha, only gold counts.
@@henkoosterink8744 Says who? And what does the e stand for in 6e?

3 Olympic medals with different colors. Would love to see Femke got 3 golds but complete set?? That's a great taste Femke 🤗🤗

Good Olympics for Dutch women on the track and in the marathon
Country Small, people Tall
Wish I understood what they are saying...Good job to Femke & to all the other great Netherland athletes! Beautiful ladies!
From the USA!
Like everyone, I really like Femke Bol and Lieke Klaver, but also the other girls (sorry to say girls if women would be more apriopriate) and especially Lisanne De Witt (sorry again if I spelled her name wrong), who seems really funny and produces amazing content with her sister. And don't forget Eveline and Catheljine (as I said before, sorry for misspelling, I'm not even trying with the last names anymore). Gosh, your team seems so wholesome 🥰
We as peopel have so much to learn ❤❤❤❤❤
I love femke bol❤
She could easly win silver in 400m hurdle but during race she got disappointed not able to make it gold😢
Yes-this is the BEST way!
Amazing teams , amazing people

I so hoped Bolletje was going to shut them yanks up . Since Carl Lewis and Lance Armstrong , who were my heroes in the days that everybody seemed to be on doping. And when they turned out to be users too , I'll never trust an American athlete again .Especially when they don't show at international meetings where they can be checked in preparation of the Olympics. And they looked like rockets , so .....At least the mixed 4 x 4 were for the Dutch .Who showed p in all meetings before Paris 24
legend and simple lady❤
I’m American and I like Femke. But Sydney is like the Usian Bolt of the 400h. And, hopefully in 28 the Bolt of the 400 and 200 flat.
Sydney is amazing, but sports is all about competing. Love when countries come together and show respect for eachother. The human side of the olympics is so amazing. I am dutch but I also loved the vibe of the americans with Gabby, tara, sydney, ilona maher. So fun to follow them all.
So 'you' win. Congrats.😂😂
@@TheCriticalPolitician Yes 'we' did , placing 6th for a tiny country., i'm proud ☺🎉
Twenty times more likely that a American wins then a Dutch atlete!
So we are proud of our little country (17.5 million)
and are able to beat America (340million) at the wins per capita!!
And Femke is still the second fastest 400m women's hurdler of all time 🧡🧡🧡 Congrats to all!
Femke, hope to see your long legs again in LA. So fast😊
Nobody organises a party better than the Dutch, and I wondered where the idea for the "Houses' came from. The only thing I don't understand is why "we are the champions' is so popular in Holland.
That song is known worldwide, so if there is a champion, we will sing that song.
The Dutch "Holland Heineken House" was the first in 1992, and the Dutch have had one at every Olympic Games. After a couple of editions other countries started to catch on and also open their own Hospitality Houses at Olympics to celebrate their athletes.
But the Dutch House is still the best of course! ;-)
Congrats to the Dutch (some of their athletes train in South Africa during our Summer) 🇳🇱🇿🇦
Congratulations Netheland❤by the way , what’s the song while the champion enter the stage?

It’s dope to me how other countries celebrate the achievements of their athletes just for getting an invite to the Olympics. American athletes cannot win anything other than gold, or heavy criticisms would follow.
Yep, i agree, the Dutch are proud when an athlete makes it to the finales, any medals are awesome. It's sadd the u.s only seems to respect gold. No matter big or little country , respect your athletes, they sacrificed years of training to get there. 🙂
So does every house there just have a stage like that?
Who cares?
@@henkoosterink8744 I do

the dutch are great people but I was a bit surprised by some of their actions this olympics. the volleyball player who abused a child, the field hockey team taunting germany after the gold medal shootout, the cyclist who recklessly crashed into another rider and was disqualified. so many ugly incidents involving the dutch. be more like us americans.
"Be more like us Americans" My god what an American thing to say. Check your history, America has plenty of scandals in the Olympics. So you know what to do Donny...
@@Mayhski112 I can't think of any worse than allowing a pedophiIe to participate, gets no worse
@@a-love-supremisti agree that he shouldn't be allowed too participate, although he had a relationship with the minor in full consent. But that is besides the point. Your comment "be more like us americans"... how high and mighty do you think you are with all your doping scandals in the Olympics, every country has its scandels if you go look for them. Such a terrible statement to make.
as an american, I am so impressed with the NL track team. I hope Stifan Ahsan gets her party too!
I think these were all the "ugly" incidents, so not "so many". Still, they shouldn't have happened. And don't ignore the "ugly" incidents from other countries, like the Australian hockey player buying coke, the British cyclist purposely crashing into the Dutch cyclist and NOT gotten disqualified, or that swimster who got kicked out of the olympic village because of bad behaviour.
