As a bisexual man who was also raised in this religion, I can relate to your struggles and I hope you have been able to deal with the trauma and loneliness that can sometimes creep up on you. ❤
Hi. I can really relate to your video about being gay and jw. Im an ex jw. But i knew i was gay since 6 years old. I really tried hard to pray the gay away. When that didnt work i stopped attending meetings at 21 because i knew it was pointless to try to be a part of a group that would never accept the real me. About a year later was caught dating a "wordly" girl. I thought maybe i was gay because i hadnt met the right girl. Lol silly i know. They disfellowshipped me because i admitted to sex with her. By 25 yrs old realized i was just gay and nothing i can do about it. Then met the perfect man and was in a 26 year relationship. But my mother and sister shunned me for the next 35 years. Not because i was gay, but because i was disfellowshipped . Ok enough about me lol
I tried to pray it away almost daily when I was a kid, Im glad you were able to free yourself from that! I know its tough when your family decided to not speak to you because of your lifestyle, I really enjoyed reading about your story. I think its worth sharing!
My husband was raised as a JW and he was dis-fellowshipped for being gay. I was raised in an inter-religious family (Jewish mother, Catholic father) and being gay was not popular with either parent. I learned to just live my life and go my own way without all the restrictions that my parents tried to impose. My husband is now a Neo-Pagan and loves it!
5:24 there were at least 1 of my past friends from church who's Dad I've met gave off that exact energy from the way dress or kind of piano songs they'd know (gays can always spot other feminine type habits) but obviously didn't want to start any controversary so I always shrugged it off, we had some of same geeky movie interests though. Kinda glad to learn some the "ladies" stopped being online friends with after years of neutral off/on communication pretty much cut me off and only talk to my mom if they NEED something had they're bro turn Atheist.........so karma always comes to bite eventually.🤭 The Real part makes me mad finally give into some of my own urges around 24ish, was hearing some these people whos siblings get found out and are forced to take "vow of celibacy". Hearing one of our deacons talk about how they made his brother do that just never sit well with me. Like your forcing these people to be alone for rest of their life since doesn't comply with their beliefs? even thoough they're family finally can get finally get together and acknowledge the truth of what they are? They can also play favs if it's in a Christian community and happens to be Pastor's children being mean to you they'll just continue to act like your the problem instead. Like not my kind of extended family i want to associate for rest of life😤 Just my two cents
I have seen this multiple times as a ex JW, so im glad you were able to understand my point of view on what religion can be like for someone who is gay :)
We were all born imperfect and even with different tendencies or desires. We all have choices and responsibilities to break free from addictions that lead to a dead end street. All forms of sexual immorality are a sin. The only sex that God approves is between a male and female that are married. But most people do not want to live by Bible principles that lead to everlasting life. They rather live as they please that does not lead to everlasting life.
@qerlb , I’ve got a biology degree and being non binary is genetic. It’s not a choice . Sexuality in humans is very complex . It’s controlled by a lot of genes not just the X and Y you’re familiar with from high school . It has happened that you can be XY and be a healthy fertile female. XY people are usually male. There are other genetic methods with different genes and this all switches on before you’re born . Btw I’m not one of the non binaries and I’m a Christian! This IS the way God made them.
@@dancingnature well, either way, sex outside a marriage between a man and a woman is a sin according to the word of God. It is not God's fault we are born imperfect. The Bible explains it all how sin and death entered into the world.
one day you'll wake up and realize "paradise" is never coming and that you've been manipulated your entire life. hopefully you have time left to enjoy true happiness before wasting your life believing in magic
@dectractos you act as if your a closeted gay person. Watching gay men's videos. Probably waiting til the kids are asleep, wife is asleep. Then giving a god comment to ease your conscious
Gay ExJW here and I completely relate. I'm so glad you are talking about your experience and so glad you are FREE!! So happy for you

If you believe you have an invisible friend in the sky, you are delusional and need therapy. Don't force your delusions down other peoples throats
And if male and female were not created...

SO you chose to be gay then serving GOD?
I chose to love MYSELF just the way god created me. Just the way you chose to comment and give me a view. Thanks :)
