I do have one question thought, how many 4-pin slots for fans does this motherboard (in DDR5 version, or are they the same between them both) contain. I think I counted and you said 3 + 2 + 1 = 6 (including the aoi pump and cpu opt)? Can you or should you use a 'non-aio pump' (just a normal 4-pin Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM) to put a 4-pin into it? If you can would I be okay to split that into two 4 pin of the same fan? to have 7 instead of 6?
I think it will be the same amount of headers on both boards. I don’t have the DDR5 version so I couldn’t say for sure. You would be fine splitting them if you need to but the AIO header works as either a fan header OR an AIO header.

No worries. I buy WiFi boards for my personal builds just in case I ever need it. Plus it gives you Bluetooth capability too. Not sure if you would use that ability or not. If you plan to hard line and know for sure you won’t want WiFi, save the money and got for the non-WiFi board
Just received my motherboard its so pretty but is also my first part of the new build. I'm currently rocking a 17-4790k for my CPU I am upgrading to the i7-12700k I hope to see a huge performance boost. 7 generations difference!

Is the 4-pin power connector necessary? The manual says either 8-pin alone or both 8-pin and 4-pin. My power supply has two 6-pin plugs but not a 4-pin.
bought the non wify version of due to budget and looks. if you ever redo this review you can say undervaulting the cpu in bios is really easy (my 12900k was hitting 100c in cinebench) and replacing the crap stock intel cpu bracket with an after market bracket is also very easy, (i recommend doing that to reduce temps as you wont need to undervault it) my temps now hit 80-85c in cinebench without the undervault. the board looks good in my desk build. the only issue i have is the rgb (armory crate) software worked fine when i 1st got it but now the rgb settings dont match the colour i get on my aio and fans. good mobo tho 😀
Yes it does. I took B-Roll of them but forgot to talk about it. They have 2 sets of holes. One that is made for LGA1200/115x and also the LGA1700 socket. So old coolers and new ones will both fit.
I have this same motherboard. How many m.2 ssd can you install? There is the single boot drive m.2 slot and then the 2 below the graphics card, is that it? You mention 4 slots and I have read four slots. But I only see those 3 unless it is tucked underneath the graphics card with no heatsink? *edit - so I see it is the drive without a heatsink that would be tucked under the graphics card. Do you know if it runs at the same speed? I assume I need to get a heatsink for the nvme then, any reccomendations?
i was choosing between the ddr4 and ddr5 versions of this i went with ddr4 as ddr5 is way more expensive and you only get 10% more performace out of ddr5

I don’t have any gigabyte boards. I typically spend my own money on everything I get to review and therefore do quite a bit of research prior to purchase. I’m not a fan of Gigabyte’s BIOS so I won’t be taking a lot at them. Sorry I can’t help further.

I also had a question about my monitor, I am thinking about getting Dell 32 Curved Gaming Monitor - S3222DGM but it only officualy supports AMD FreeSync Premium and I have a NVIDIA GPU will I have any screen tearing problems ?
Usually nvidia allows g-sync to work on free sync monitors. There is a compatibility list floating somewhere around the internet. I’d check that first before buying
I just built my rig with this mobo and 12700k. Are you haveing issues with the Asus Sutie III, mine kinda works but it wont show the CPU freq?? I have tried to uninstall and reinstall, still wont work???

There is no backward compatibility for LGA 1700 slot as current Intel 12th gen is the first of its kind. Intel 13th Gen will be compatible with it so it is forward compatible atleast for next generation. D4 motherboards use DDR4 whereas D5 motherboards use DDR5. They are not cross compatible.
Nice...but I usually buy ROG Strix Motherboards. Right now I have 2 Z390-E ROG Strix and 1 Z690-E ROG Strix Motherboards. Both very nice. Next week I will pick up a Z790-E Strix Board...
bro I forgot to remove the CPU socket lever protector lga1700. the transparent tube which is on the lever latch. will there is damage or issues come? i have already installed the air cooler. will it be necessary to remove that tube?

It is the one thing holding me back from upgrading to 12600k+Z690 TUF. Asus has a 70€ cashback promotion if you buy this board + the CPU which makes this a 230€ board right now.

Isn't DDR4 and DDR5 all there is right now? Where is the minority of motherboards? This is strictly an unboxing, not a review -- you haven't used the product, and don't evaluate the Asus-supplied software, the BIOS, or any of the runtime features. Have you actually used the motherboard? Overclocked it? How stable is it? How are the temperatures? Did you overclock? What speed memory did you use? Any benchmarks?

You don’t NEED a heat sink for em but it helps. One NVMe I like that comes with a heat sink is the Kingston Fury Renegade

Tech YES City's review of this board says the audio is pretty bad though.
I never use the on board audio, so I’m not sure. All my headsets used USB connection and they worked fine

Well USB is independent from the board audio and is generally better sounding anyway when you use USB headphones ‚y
