The prison version skips the verse "Well, he must’ve thought that is was quite a joke and it got a lot of laughs from lots of folk...." This version adds the verse and the up-tempo keeps it about the same duration
I prefer this version, especially the "kicking and a gauging in the mud and the blood and the beer" sounds so much catchier at this speed, he also goes out of tune towards the end of the prison version
I wish this mentioned the date of the performance. I grew up hearing this song. My mom loved it and had an 8-track or something of it. It was annoying then, but it's a brilliant song.

I share the same birthday with the late Johnny Cash , except I am 20 years younger. So Mr. Cash would be 87 if he were still with us today. I miss Johnny's voice and input, but his recordings will always be a treasure of the U.S.A. ! I do not think Johnny would like the divided and life support condition that our country is in today. !
