- The SIQUIJOR the DON’T SHOW YOU! (Hidden Island Gems) 🇵🇭
When visiting Siquijor definitely try and explore some of the island’s hidden gems! Siquijor has many spots that are famous to tourists, but this island also has some cool hidden spots. In this video, I visit one of the traditional healers of Siquijor, go to the market, find a hidden beach, and even have waterfalls all TO MYSELF!
Enjoy ❤️

The only foreign vlogger on the island to exhibit this Kawasan Falls is you. Despite being from there, I had never heard of it; nevertheless, I had heard of Kawasan Falls, which are more larger and more well-known in Cebu but not in Siquijor. I appreciate you showing it to us. And the most amazing thing about it all was that you caught a snake catching a frog live. The coconut spade flower, not the coconut vine, produced the wine made from coconuts. The coconut pilot (the farmer who does it), as we used to refer to it, would automatically dribble juice when it cut the coconut spade blossom. The coconut pilot (the farmer who harvests the coconut wine) would add mangrove bark to colorize the juice, which results in a distinct mixture going through fermentation.
i am so happy..people found the freedom in this island..
Quite interesting that you really went above and beyond the usual tourist destinations and took a step further exploring its culture. Nice content!
Come here to mindanao and you will see how the beautiful and relaxing the beautiful view, beaches, mountain and green sceneries that you will love it and amaze ❤❤
Thanks goodness for sharing this ritual. I’m a Filipino here in NYC and I’ve never been to this kind of healing.Scary but seems soothing.Balite tree is also known in my village as a ghost tree. I don’t know after so many years the locals cut it. I was so disappointed and angry why they didn’t respect Mother Nature’s gift. This Balite Tree will feed hundreds of birds from its flowers.
These local people have to be educated.
Florida has plenty of the same species and I am so happy that they are preserving those Trees.Watching from NYC
Siquijor looks really cool actually!
It really is! Have you made it there yet Tim? How is the Philippines treating you? 😄
@@talesofodyssey not yet but it's on the list! I'm loving it so far 😍
I’m amazed how you explore Philippines from mountains to sea ♥️Take care of yourself girl🙏
Ahh sweet, thanks for watching the videos!! Hope you have a great week 😊
Masarap ang pagkain dyan pati prutas🍇🍈🍈🍉🍉🍉🍌🍍🥑🥑🥝🍓🍅🍅🍅🌽🌽🥕🍓🍋🍋🍊🍉
You’re so brave, Rachel. I’ve never come close to a balete tree until now. 🤙🏽
His a faith healer as we call them. I strongly believe in them i had experience to be healed back in the days when i am younger. Siguijor is also known of witch craft they say. Your a brave woman thank you for enjoying your stay in our friendly country. 🇵🇭 Stay safe sweetie
The sea grapes will be yummy if you dip it in a vinegar with chopped onions and flavored with salt. You can add chili if you want.
VERY INTERESTING WITH THE HEALER YOU HAVE GREAT PERSONALITY AND NATURAL BEAUTY
Back in the day when we are young, during night time we used to see a big tree full of fireflies and its looks like a Christmas tree. Full of lights.
That sounds incredible!
I am totally enjoying your vlogs in the Philippines 😍😍😍 You are soooooo amazing!!! 🔥🔥🙌🏼💜💚 Fearless. 💗🥳 Take care and enjoy. 💓💓💓
yeeeey haha! That is so sweet, thank you 🎉😄
Once in a while, a true blue GENUINE traveler emerges on YT amd visits the Philippines...
Wow, this island looks absolutely gorgeous. I also feel nervous swimming on my own, so you’re not alone there. I also have a terrible fear of swimming over ‘dark bits’ in the water when I’m not wearing a mask or goggles so can’t see what it is. So lucky to have the waterfall to yourself and my goodness what a sighting of that snake and frog!
Hahaha the “dark bits” are the worst 😂 but yeah that jungle waterfall was so lush
I never seen this in any Philippine Vlogger's videos before. You did a good job by showing this experience
Glad you enjoyed watching! 😄
Ingat po kayo lage hwag po kayo lalayo masyado kailangan po lage po kayo may kasama tour guide o Pinoy sa kada byahe nyo God bless you always Ingat all adds no skip🙂❤️

Thank you so much 😊
Awesome video as always. Thank you.
Amazing video, Thumbs up for the waterfall, water seems crystal clear
There’s so many places you can check out in the Philippines. Out of 7, 100 islands the majority of them are off beaten paths. Just like you, I check out those places when I go back home.
Im so mesmerised by the beauty of that island 😮
When you are in the forest, say “tabi tabi po” it’s a way here in Philippines to “bigay galang” to unseen creatures.
Fascinating place. 👍🏿
Nice video here in our place
I love this video! Do more of this kind of adventure. Hello from Manila.
wow amazingggg ❤❤❤❤
Love this in the end ❤
Thank you for being here in my country really appreciate it ! Take care always !
Look nice place
Very interesting vlog and hope the healing treatment you tried helped made you feel good? Dave seems like very knowledgable and relaxed guy. Dint expect to see him swinging like that at the waterfall haha. Thanks for another great piece of work Ráchelle! Good day to you 🙏🏾🤗😊
Thanks for another lovely comment Vik! Thanks for tuning in 😄
Very nice seeing you really enjoying our country
Growing up in Negros Oriental, tales of Traditional healers or some would call them mambabarabg have flourished and enchanted our psyche and we were always taught that these are bad and that they are a harbinger of bad omen. But I admire your audacity and not letting the bad reputation stop you from experiencing the wonderful realm of traditional healing.
🥰 Wow! Amazing rivers and falls! You could just imagine how beautiful my country is! thanks for the vlog! Keep healthy and safe! 🥰❤️
Unusual but interesting video of Siqujor❤ Salamat for sharing 🎉 Mabuhay🎉looking forward to the next one😊

What Beautifully done video. The eco landscape is so beautiful . The video is lifted to a new dimension by the wonderful musical score. The Philippines has many islands to simply just chill.
Take your pick. We wish we had Smell-o- Vision. The smell must be incredible. Hope you doing ok Rachelle . Sending you much Love 🙏❤🙏 from Richmond, Va. Jim, Harriet and Yuki
Awesome 👏
Thumbs up 👍 here
The Balete tree is the only tree that locals don't dare to approach. It is said that fairies and other elemental beings live there. If they like you or you accidentally hurt or disturbed them because you don't see them, they might harm you. Siquijor is originally the province of witchcraft and black arts. In the olden days, Filipinos would stay away from that place. Nowadays it is more commercialized and open for travel. Because of its rich history, you can see how preserved and virgin the island is. That place really looks like the realm of the fairies. It's stunning!
Paradise
Most awesome content creator I have seen recently, much passion and kind heart. 😀💖
Haha so sweet, thanks Matteo 😊
The secret of making coconut sap/juice (tuba in local dialect) very sweet is to clean very well the container used to collect the sap (that thing hanging from the tip of the coconut flower and that container is made from bamboo, it is called sugong in local) if you clean that very well before you mount it to the coconut flower to collect the sap you'll get one of the sweetest juice if not the sweetest of all juices you'll get from any other tree.
An unusual experience. Why not?! ☺️💪😎
Woohhh! the snake sighting is the highlight for me. It's rare to see.
I knoooow it was crazy! Highlight of the day 😄
Thanks for your apreciation of our country
And I appreciate you taking the time to watch my videos! 😊
It's amazing to watch your vlogs. They offer deep and detailed insights into lesser known cultures and ways of living. Keep up the good work.

After my 3 nights at work i really look forward to watching your latest videos and yet again you did not disappoint. Nice to get little snippets of your life like i gave up smoking 9 years ago so really nice to know you have also experienced the struggle. Anyway keep up the good work and i look forward to your next vid ❤
How cool my videos are something you look forward to! That is so awesome to hear haha! And yeah one of the hardest things I have done to kick that silly addiction! Good job for quitting as well 😄👏

@@alexsabado8254 that’s something to be proud of!! I smoked for many years, but glad I don’t anymore 😊
Balite Tree is a parasite tree that grows on a tree. And i would say yes that is a big Balite tree that you saw.
I L ❤ VE the overall vibes of your contents.....yet it is your calming personality that's overriding..... you're so affirmatively candid.
ahhh sweeet, thank you! 😊
makamingaw
Thats nice jungle babe😊
you are lucky to have met Dave to take you to all these places. Even in Goa, we have hidden waterfalls that seldom people are aware of. I wouldn't be surprised if you tried skinny dipping at one of the secluded, not filmed places. You should at every given such opportunity just live off the grid. No videos, no pics ... just wild, Garden of Eden memories etched forever.
Watching from
Toronto Canada
Enjoy in Philippines
Mabuhay
Wow awesome! 😎

I'm new to your channel and I must commend you for doing such a great job. You are such an amazing storyteller and clearly you research well and you know what you are doing unlike others who just film aimlessly.. Enjoy your stay in our country.
Thanks for this very thoughtful comment! I am doing my best (as many others are as well) so it is always nice to hear when the videos are well received! Thanks for taking the time to comment 😊
In that island there is two powerful healer that can dancing a man shaped - paper and it was featured in biggest TV network here in this country.
Ginawang tinapa hahaha noong unang panahon gayan kaminmag handa ng pagkain
Good rider
You would fit the role of an encantada with a white flowing dress and a tiara😅
Go to enchanted river, you will be amaze
My mother would do that fumigation to remove cold air out of our bodies which causes body pains, stomach discomfort, etc..
❤❤❤❤❤
So glad to hear 'no more smoking for me '.
Glad I kicked that addiction to the door 😊
I believe what you just drank 31:22 is Tuba or Lambanog.
Yes it was tuba I think 😊
@@talesofodysseyyes tuba or coconut wine
It's fun to go to the market together, you guys are very romantic, I like to see them have a nice day ❤❤❤
Romantic? 😂
❤❤❤😊
For me the "healing" is Tequila.😂😂. Take care and be safe. ♥️
hahaha oh my gosh 😂
Have you ever visit Papua New Guinea?.I might visit Australia by next year. And this is in my bucket list. I believe is is a unique island.
@@donjoe5940 I haven’t but I would love to!
that's quite a nat geo experience seeing that snake catch the frog
Haha yeah except I am not sure my commentary is NatGeo worthy 😂
Im very happy for you because of the off-the-beaten-paths you've been to, amazing happenings unfolding before your eyes...like seemingly alone in the lush greenery of a jungle cum waterfall. Watching the "saga" of the snake and the frog etc. Tasting unbrewed but natural organic coconut wine. Morever, your senses are now sharpened to awareness you're probably unaware of amidst the what-nots and whatevers that've come your wayS! I've seen you brighter-eyed, smiling/laffing more often as well. Mind you, watching you in delightful ways also "infect" us appreciatively. Philippines is "funner" because of you! ❤️👍😀
P. S. That seaweed you are is so rich in iodine, you mustn't eat that daily.. bout 3x a week only. Good for thyroid issues..
❤❤❤hii
