    bridges and the hwy do it for me , used to be the primary driver on road trips and then one day in traffic . boom my first ever panic attack and no it wasn't on a bridge or hwy. but those 2 places now I avoid completely greatly makin driving enjoyment overall non existent .. so frustrating and definitely feels like your trapped it's not the speed even just the barriers that make u feel confined its tough

    I used to drive a lot from home to work almost every day 120 miles ( back and forth) for at least 30 years . Now I can’t drive cuz of panic attack. My heart beat rise and my vision change ( vertigo feels like). I would like to drive again. Feels like I’m disable for not driving. :(

      This is exactly what I am going through currently. I get scared that I will lose control and drive onto the next lane and crash. I feel inside my head is filling with cloud and buzzing noise. It’s hard to explain it to my doctor. I saw an optometrist and all is good she said. Have my holter monitor put on now for 24 hours to check heart beat. I don’t want to not able to drive. I loved driving especially dangerous windy roads. How have I became so scared of it i don’t know.

    Hey man I just want to say your videos have been a massive MASSIVE help. Year long agoraphobic and it was fear of passing out while driving/being out of the house essentially. Through your videos I've been slowly acclimating to this new reality that panic attacks aren't harmful whatsoever and if anything its way harder to pass out while panicking. I just want to say thank you so much! I'm going to keep cementing in this new way of thinking and hopefully be on my way to full recovery soon!

      Hey Jacob, could you please share your experience?! How did you overcome the Agoraphobia and fear of passing out while driving alone? It would be really really helpful to hear from someone who has been through this.

    • @JacobLizotte
      @JacobLizotte 11 месяцев назад

      @@mehakgarg257 I basically just stopped being afraid of the symptoms. Now when I get anxiety I’m not afraid of it at all because it’s completely harmless. This allowed me to do anything I want because there isn’t anything actually holding me back anymore.

      Jacob, what did you do when you were shallowing breathing and felt like passing out when you were driving . Curious as I'm going through this .

    • @JacobLizotte
      @JacobLizotte 9 месяцев назад +4

      @@jeremichoko8088 I just told myself that the sensations wouldn’t actually hurt me. They never ended up hurting me and I eventually forgot about this entire thing and my life is completely normal now. Occasionally I remind myself if I ever have to but it’s extremely rare.
      You can deal with anything that comes up, you just have to realize that you can. It just takes time and you have to build a new habit of trusting that the sensations are just sensations and don’t actually harm you.
      This was after being agoraphobic for over a year and being unable to leave my house because of it.

    I happened to see a graphic accident, and a month latter I was got rear-ended on the highway. I always had very high anxiety, but now I'm scared to drive on the highway because I'm afraid of seeing another accident. its not fear of my self its that I am scared to see something bad again, but I know I can avoid them when I'm not on the highway, but the worst part is that it takes me an extra 40 minutes to get to my girlfriend's house because of this. I'm really trying to fix this problem. I really want help to fix this

    I dont drive anymore, but I have a few questions, I dont have anxiety attacks continously but, im continously anxious,is this (normal). My triggers are my one son is on herion and living in car. Other son has mental issues and won't take meds and living on streets. And my grandmother is dying with cancer, how do I over come this. And also ive have several chest ct scans and xrays and doc.says no lung cancer and im fine, but i feel like I need to cough but can't. Is this a symptom. I smoked for 30 yrs and quit last April. Thank you

    This is exactly what I needed to find. Everything you said is exactly how I feel about driving. I'm a 29 year old guy in rural Texas were everybody starts driving at a young age. No public transportation no Uber or anything like that. I get overwhelmed. Thinking about having to pay attention to the road, the signs, my driving , the person in front of me and behind me and if they are paying attention, speed limits, not to mention all the financial responsibility required. Honestly it's really embarrassing telling people that I don't have a vehicle or a license and never have. I also realize that this is my biggest hold back in life. Limiting my experiences/ opportunitys/ options on jobs, where I go, where i can live, what I get to do, who I see. Where I shop. Not a real attractive quality in a man my age either..... I'm just completely missing out on all the potential in life. So hopefully this videos will help. Thank you!
