That is the real issue. Really wish we had a direct sales method from the manufacturer. I havent bought one because I cant get one at msrp. So frustrating
Fantastic, straight to the point insight for those looking for a drivers car, have one on order in the U.K, just one spec offered here, other than manual or auto, fully loaded but sadly missing the duck bill spoiler.
Just got my GR86.....mine is a auto 6 speed cvt FULL LIFETIME WARRANTY, has front cameras and has a world of shit I dont know....Different from my old monte carlo, I have reservations in this boxer motor, but i got a 15 geni coupe with 3.8 260k all original....i will keep it under 3k rpm.....im an old head and I didnt want a stick shift
Plus if you get a manuals? to be honest, I'd pick the automatic over the manual any day of the week. Reasons being if you are beginner at manuals prepare for stalling mis shifts and with these issues 9 times out of 10 the automatic wins every time. a computer with perfect shifts 👌 so they say manual 6.1 o to 100 where the automatic is 6.6 now that's only half second quicker now that in everyday street driving doesn't mean anything and you gotta really put in the effort and put pressure on the clutch and gear box but really in day to day driving caught off guard not expecting the other driver to pull off the line without perfect shifts! automatic wins.
Toyota allocation system is screwed up. I ordered back in November, and when one showed up on the lot a few weeks ago because someone changed their mind I decided to just get that one. Wasn't the color I wanted and came with some factory extras I didn't want, but that is the market we're in. I needed a car in the next 3-4 months and after 7 months of waiting, it was this or something cheap.
I really appreciate they kept the GR86 affordable unlike the new Z which even requires $10k additional just to get a lsd that is standard on the GR86. Combine value with its lightweight fun, it can't be beat. So happy a car like this exists as the Miata I can't fit in with roof up. Now if only the stearlerships would charge msrp I could actually buy one.
It's crazy here where I live, it's one of the cheapest sports cars and it still is like 42k dollars (39k euros), the gti, for comparison, costs around 55k dollars
@@iversonjcameron Wow now that's a mark up, I've seen them for 40k but never more than that. Jeez, your dealers are insane... Anyways, congrats on the car man!
Dan, How is this for 'unrealistic pressure'? If I am buying a Toyota, I want a Toyota engine. Subaru's boxer engines simply don't match the long term durability of Toyota's own engines. If a company as small as Mazda can build an affordable sports car like the Miata for the global market, there is simply no reason a giant like Toyota Motor Corporation cannot do the same. 😁
@@danilika9420 You are absolutely right, it would not be the same, it would be BETTER 😂 Does your Miata need a boxer engine or does it do just fine with an inline 4? It seems to me Miata strikes a beautiful balance of sport and reliability. Do you remember the Toyota S-FR concept from a few years back?
On a track? You’re dreaming if you think a Hyundai would keep up on a track. And in a straight line, your hyndai is only .2 seconds faster than a 86 at the 1/4 mile lol. Major car publications such as car and driver also rated the gr86/brz higher than an Elantra n or kona. The only thing a Hyundai has is being a better daily driver.
Not the same type of vehicle. FWD vs RWD. Hyundai/kia quality is also questionable. I'd put Subaru above them based 25-30 years of taking care of at least one of all the major car MFG's available in NA.
Already paid for mine, red GR86 in Spain! Gonna get it next week, can't wait!
Now when can I find one that’s not marked up 10-15k above MSRP..
That is the real issue. Really wish we had a direct sales method from the manufacturer. I havent bought one because I cant get one at msrp. So frustrating
In Canada they can't charge you over MSRP. He dealer add ons are a different story.
Is that a Seiko SKX007?
This car is so beautiful, that shape is obvious.

Many thanks for the kind words! Bummer about the spoiler being kept off the British cars, but at least the rest of the good stuff is included!

Just a normal 6 speed automatic no cvt

Ordered mine this week. So excited.
I ordered a premium manual halo. No idea when il get it tho

Took me 7 months. Mine arrives Wednesday.
Got my red manual premium a few days ago very quick tends to slide with a little extra juice on turns but that's the fun my girlfriend did think so 😮

My exact issue with the z. Open diff on the base model won’t do for me. Gr86 is the way even if you have to pay a little markup

Wow, that certainly is some unrealistic pressure! This car just isn’t the same with anything but an H4, full stop.

They pulled the same con job on the " Supra". Funny , but even Nissan sells their own Z car, instead of a rebadged Renault.

So amazing ❤❤❤❤❤
it's s Subaru, not a Toyota!
Hyundai Kona N or Elantra N can run rings around it, with much better warranties, and at lower prices.
