  • Today I am Replacing the front brake hoses on a 2011 Ford F150. I had some issues with the brakes feeling like they were dragging when I released the pedal and I had already replaced the calipers, so I am hoping the hoses are the problem this time.

    Thanks for the video. I'll be doing this job on my own truck soon. I made my own brake bleeder bottle system and it works better than a vacuum pump. I even get my wife to help by getting her to push the brake pedal. She likes it when I involve her in my vehicle maintenance. I'm also gonna take this opportunity to flush the brake lines with new fluid. I'm changing the rear lines too. Thanks

      Awesome job on the brake bleeder, it’s cool when you make your own tools and they work better than ones you buy!

    I replaced everything, rotors, calipers, and pads trying to get my left front brake to stop dragging. I saw this video and replaced the hose.
    Totally fixed the problem!! Thank you for the advise, well done.

    I had the exact same problem. Hoses were the last thing to replace to fix that dang drag. Thanks for the tips

    Safety tip. Do not use a floor jack on a soft surface like gravel. A floor jack needs to move as the truck is raised in order to stay in place.

    I have the 5.0 l 2011 same issue. Will the line fix it. Caliber and pads are new driver side is burning pads and rotors. Shit aggravating

      More than likely it will fix it, there no way I can tell you that for sure but the hose is a fairly inexpensive item to try and since you already replaced all the other expensive stuff what’s another 20 or 30 bucks

    Usually the issue with the hose is caused by the metal mounting bracket midway on the hose, which builds up rust on the inside and then compresses against the rubber hose, causing a restriction..... Common on F-150's and Jeeps!

    What's that other line go too? The small rubber line that u broke the clip on?

    • @WilliamsonRidge
      @WilliamsonRidge  Год назад +1

      It is an electrical wire I believe a speed sensor or something for the antilock brakes

      @@WilliamsonRidge ahh ok I thought so. If a hole where to ever happen should I change that out too? I'm having the exact same problem on my f150 09. And your video was spot on!
      The guy told me to use a little hand torch on the break hose then use PB blaster then try and take off the 🔩 that goes into the break. It is pretty rusted so do you think or have any opinions on how I should go about it.
      Thanks my friend in advance

    Did it cause your brakes to lock up?

    • @WilliamsonRidge
      @WilliamsonRidge  11 месяцев назад

      It was causing mine to drag and get hot, but it could cause them to lock up completely
