Good video! Nice to have an update on this series. Especially the last point is really important, good that you mentioned this. Some of us are just ‘wired’ a certain way and we can try really hard but still experience mental issues, simply because of the (lack of) chemicals in our brain! Btw I absolutely love the color of that shirt! Looks really good on you.
new sub here I’m a therapist and also have Generalized Anxiety disorder…I’m 54 y/o managing anxiety most of my life but also want to help others ..I am so happy to hear you talk about your journey
I've been taking Lexapro for 3 years. The last year completely sober. It does help me but I was on 20mg per day. I chose to cut down to 10mg of because of that I haven't had a GOOD CRY in awhile, especially after experiencing loss and great pain due to my addiction to alcohol. I have feelings but emotions are not as strong as I would expect. I've done a lot of work mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Through the process I've felt that I needed to cry but as soon as a cry wells up, it drains down. I'm not sure if this is good or bad. It just is. While tapering from 20mg to 10mg I did have some symptoms of headache and "brain flashes" for 2 weeks or so. But I'm leveled out now and waiting for that good cry😂
Hi Chad! Wow, congratz on being sober for a year! That is amazing to hear. And totally agree on not having that good cry, hahaha. That is also something that I miss, everything feels just a bit more neutral. Which can be nice sometimes, but at other times I miss having these strong emotions. But for now, lexapro is great for my anxiety. And interesting to hear that you cut back from 20mg to 10mg. Did you notice any difference in anxiety/mood?
Thank you! Yes. I noticed a slight difference in my anxiety but I've acquired some coping mechanisms that help me get through. That is if I'm aware and can remember to practice the skills..lol.

That is so impressive to hear! I think you are amazing at helping others with the experience you have dealing with anxiety.
Sometimes it’s ‘just’ chemistry! So glad to hear this is helping, even with the side effects you mention ❤
Thank you sisss 💕
