This was a great 1 year review. Thank you! I'm considering starting Lexapro since I too recently lost my job and my anxiety and depression have skyrocketed since. I'm hoping Lexapro will help me feel a bit lighter to help me keep moving forward, bridge my skill gap, and start a job where I'll be happy. Much love! ♥
I'm about 11 days into taking lexapro (10mg). My depression has worsened a fair bit. Itseems to be getting a little bit less bad as time goes on, but the depressive waves I get are more intense and overall i feel more depressed and feelings of wanting to die are stronger. My doctor says just to push through until 6 weeks. This is hell. Did you, or anyone notice any worsening of symptoms like this?
I've been taking 10mg for a month and my doctor just upped the dose to 20mg because I feel more anxious. I'm hoping things will get better now that I'm on 20mg
Could be a side effect of just starting the medication. Usually these go away after your body gets used to them. Lexapro was one of the better anxiety meds I tried
@@jruiz71284 It got so bad for me that I ended up in a mental health unit for the week... Got a medication change and presccribed 2mg ativan for as needed but im terrified to use it. Still prettyy anxious, but not quite as bad as earlier this week. Still bad though.
Im currently on 10mg, I started on 5 back in November and im already seeing an improvement. I tend to feel alot happier when I'm just neutral which is a relief and I dont tend to overthink things or get random bouts of shame or dread. I got seriously bad headaches near the beginning which was due to my brain getting used to the blockers but now after over a month later, the only side affect really is the intense dreams. I seem to be able to remember my dreams a lot easier and, though they aren't bad or worrisome, they are incredibly detailed dreams and feel completely real up until I wake up. I'd personally recommend it
@@KFactor. I ate very healthily and exercised yet I still felt like unaliving myself. Lexapro actually hepled. You have no idea what you are talking about. Big Pharma progaganda? Youre brainwashed.
5:13 I feel ya. I moved back to my hometown after being away for 10 years and I get anxious thinking about bumping into someone I used to hang out with or knew.
I was on this medication for years and there is withdrawal with any SSRI. A new doctor asked why I was on it for so long and I said cause the doctor said lol his answer was to put me on ability and buspar. The doctors do not mention it. It is not fun and basically the symptoms is all the reasons you use the med in the first place. Exposure therapy and PMR is the way. I'm now medicine free 1 year so far and feel the best i have in decades.
Sounds like it pretty much eased up on your negative emotion which is nice.. you seem to I have a lot of ideas that are easier to start and follow through with.. and that's life that's awesome. and yes you probably would be good at playing like the clarinet or something ..kidding..nice job I enjoyed it.
The worst you feel/felt on this or any will be a billion times worse and then some. when you stop it. Tapperd or not. This happens with 1 dose or any amount of time.

Same mate. I’m on the 3rd week now (10mg) for anxiety. don’t notice a lot of difference yet. How are you finding it now?

Did u get better ?
I wouldn’t expect much effect at 11 days. Your comment was a month ago. I hope you’re feeling better.
How is it now? My depression also worsened but I feel amazing now. Been about a month for me.
Has anyone experienced very much heightened anxiety after first starting? When did it subside?

I totally felt the same way. It subsided for me around the 4th or 5th week.

I’m having a very similar experience as you with the benefits of Lexapro. We must’ve had the same anxiety symptoms.
it's definitely counteractive for weight loss a lexapro is known to be a big factor for weight gain
