  • How does this wild, long-travel alternative to traditional front suspension stack up on the trails? It's time to find out. With the promise of both turning heads and delivering a better ride experience, the latest trailing multi-link front suspension platform from Trust Performance is designed for aggressive trail and enduro mountain bikes. Join Zach Petersen, a rider known for his speed on a bike and the ‪@TrailPeek‬ RUclips channel, for a straight-shooter's perspective on the unique design. Listen in as he discusses and demonstrates the fork's major strengths, weaknesses, and gives you a bottom line.
    Trust Shout Highlights:
    Trailing multi-link front suspension
    Full carbon chassis, steerer tube and linkages with aluminum pivots
    178mm contour travel

    The trust is harsh when landing, because of its rearward axle path, its great over rocks and obstacles that slow you down, but not that amazing when landing drops where you have practically 0 horizontal forces and 100% vertical forces.

    • @dontfeelcold
      @dontfeelcold 4 года назад

      How does a rearward axle path make landing drops harsher?

    • @obi-wankenobi9871
      @obi-wankenobi9871 4 года назад

      @@dontfeelcold The lever changes. For making landings smooth, you need vertical suspension travel, but to get the same ammount vertical travel out of a not vertical axle path you need to move the axle a longer distance, which requires more force.

    • @Holotype
      @Holotype 4 года назад

      @@dontfeelcold To put it another way, any misalignment between axle path and impact force represents force that isn't being handled by the suspension. The axle path of the Shout is very rearward and the force of a "slap-down" landing is nearly vertical. Huge misalignment, so very poor handling of the impact.

    • @benkadas9017
      @benkadas9017 4 года назад

      Exactly, so better for some things and not as good for others, totally makes sense and parallels my experience on the Shout. So I wouldn't say the Shout is for the bike park rider, more fitting for trail riders.

    Great review Zach.. It would be less awkward to have you speak more naturally instead of reading a script though as well as figuring out a better mic setup. :)
    Your points seem to be in agreement with most of the pro reviews, the design isn't there yet especially for double the price of a telescopic fork. Unfortunately Trusts' response to the criticism (at least on PB's review) is pretty disappointing.
    Your slo-mo landing clip did a good job of showing that harshness issue.
