"As Real as it Gets". The amount of data that is being processed by these flight simulators, every second, is truly mind boggling.
Thanks for these tutorials I always look forward to them when a new Airliner is released.
Thank you very much, the next ones will be up soon already ;-)
I'm so glad I watched this video. FMS set up is so much easier to navigate than I thought. So used to the a32x way of doing it it was easy to miss something
yep, it is a very intuitive system indeed! You just got to get used to it, but I only took two flights and now feel happy with it.
@@A330Driver It's typical Airbus lol. Makes absolutely no sense initially but then it clicks and you wonder why other aircraft aren't like it
i wish the flight plan page on the fms had a scroll bar to the right side that you could drag up and down, clicking those up and down buttons when your plan has like 50 waypoints gets annoying quick lol
Guten Tag captain and thank you so very much for sharing your knowledge with all of us
Great video as usual. I was waiting for the trim settings setup will see if it is covered already.
thats done after engine start if i am not mistaken
yep, that's part of the after start procedures.
Thank you for the great instruction. I just finished my 2nd flight in the 380 . Only had 1 issue. The measurements in the EFB are set in lbs but when you input weight and fuel in the fmc, it has to be in KG not lbs
The only thing I would say, I don’t know about A380 but in the A350 the folding table/OIS keyboard ONLY operates the Capt outer OIS and same for FO side FO outer OIS ie the ones to far left and far right which are blank and INOP in this plane 😢. I suspect it’s the same both aircraft have KCCU and ECAM control panels for all other displays etc, although they are slightly different looking
Great stuff. The tray table keyboard is currently INOP I think. :)
Great tutorial as usual. What I don’t understand is how do you set the take off trim ?
It's exciting to follow you, you will be my instructor
Hi captain 🧑✈️
Thank you so much for your tutorials we learn so much from your channel
Regards
Steve
Thank you, Steve!
Can you add custom waypoints to the flightplan somehow? I tried everything but couldn't figure out
Great thanks Cpt.
You work fast my freind
Great video. You never disappoint with your presentations. I'm trying to refine my pitch setting using the center pedestal switch but the % reading on the display panel is not moving. Is it bug or have I missed something when preping the mcdu. I do enter THS % first and that shows on the display panel but I cant refine the position.
Refine it with the pitch trim button on the center console right of the parking break lever
Watched with absolute interest ... fascinating and very informative ... what is JTSN GW, where do we get this value and do we need to fill it in please? (11:55 / 16:31)
It’s used to determine the final gross weight when you want to dump fuel.
@@A330Driver ok, thanks
awesome as always but could you please write here all AVG W/C that exists, becouse my flightplan had M028 and since its not P or tailwind as you said i dont know how to enter this one
The designator always refers to the change of your groundspeed. Minus means you get slower, so headwind.
@@A330Driver okay so there are only two options either its M - headwind or P - tailwind am i right?
14:35 Oh, I actually thought there were universal numbers that are the same no matter which company the aircraft flies for. So it differs between companies then?
Thnx for the great video. On the Fuel%Load page, what is supposed to be displayed in the top line? During flight I always get something like 0.2T FOB. That can't be right.
Basically it should show those values that are written there (Fuel on board, weights, etc.). Doesn't seem simulated for now.
Great tutorial as always. How do you delete a discontinuity?
thanks
Should just select it to bring up the menu then press delete
@tomstravels520 thank you
No idea how to get weights in tonnage. My ZFW, Fuel, etc is displayed in lbs. When I enter that value, it says it is out of range. When I try to convert the displayed weights in lbs to tons, it still says it is out of range. Cannot fly the bird because of this.
Nice. Basically a touch screen version of a320 family mcdu?
It’s not a touchscreen, the crew uses a mouse cursor located on the bottom of the MCDU
I like it very much, it's the new generation of FMS and you can clearly see that.
Hello can you explain me how to set a fix on the ND via Flight plan thanks 😊
How do you enter a custom Place Bearing into the FMS? Also, can you enter imperial weights on the fuel and load page, I seem to have an issue even though imperial is selected in the settings.
Hello! Nice video thank you! but Why is the aircraft nose lifting himself before Vr ?
A lot of MSFS aircraft do this, I suppose it's a bug.
@@A330DriverNot the Fenix/pmdg
Hello .. i have a question about A380, Is FMC support for entering new waypoints not in the flight plan? .. today the ATC gave me new waypoints, but i didn't find a way to enter it, except one way: must via airways then waypoint, and cant DCT to new waypoint not in flight plan too
I don't understand what is the "TO shift" 13:27. Did you put 100m because you've foreseen to enter into the runway 100m from its beginning? tks
Exactly that, yes
I recognize everyone is putting in their ZFW and Fuel Weight as KG or LBS. but does the aircraft require these inputs as Tons ? So don’t we have to convert the KGs and LBS to Tons? Because I recognize in the fields that require weight information, there’s a “T” at the end. Is that indicating Tons?
Yes, it's tons. 350.4 for example.
I'm used to pounds as well, you can't change the plane to pounds though (maybe down the road?).
You need to change your flight plan default in Simbrief from pounds to kilograms if you don't want to do math 👍
@@A330Driver ah I see. I was confused as to whether or not to use US Tons vs Metric Tons. 🤦🏾♂️ I think FBW need to implement a converter for these values or something.
Great videos by the way. I’m patiently waiting on your tutorials and other hidden features like click spots etc inside the A380
hey emmanuel, what setting did you use for your A380 to get the best result?
Hi, the same I'm using with anything else. I think my system just outpowers the A380.
Hi all, I'm getting different rwy for RKSI and also the STARs are different. I'm runnning the v0.12.1. Has it a different airad db? thanks
This is the same system as in the A350 or are there any key differences?
I haven't flown an A350 yet, sorry.
Where is the FIX page on this FMS? Or how do we draw rings or lines?
It is currently not simulated. You would find it in the box in the bottom middle of the F-PLN page.
is there a way to do this without navgraph because its not free :(
There are free charts out there on the internet.
Hello, I would like to know if there is a solution to why in the mcdu when filling out the flight plan there is a limit of waypoints. I wanted to make a flight from Mexico to Barcelona and however it does not allow me to enter more than 15 or 13 waypoints. Is there a solution or what should be done?
Do you actually need that many? You can hop onto an airway and follow it with just the entry and exit point.
@@drwhitewash This is supposed to be the normal operation that is done, entering all the waypoints until you reach your destination, in this case on long flights if necessary...distance, time, fuel consumption.
@@zabaskifriedrichshafen255 are you manually entering the waypoints? Maybe it counts those as pilot created ones. You'd have to ask FBW themselves
does CI work?
no
In case anyone else noticed the right rudder pedal moving @ 14:00, watch out for double binds on the keyboard!
The default binding for Enter is also right rudder trim lol
Ahhhh, that's why it happens! Normally developers should intercept all those commands when operating a keyboard entry. Perhabs they missed that one!
