Finishing this tutorial, first good liveries released and a first bugfix update should hopefully be around the same time, and then we're ready to go on longhaul
I flew my first long haul last night, make sure to use the correct fuel BIAS! About M17 for flights over 8 hours, M20 if shorter. Otherwise you might easily arrive above the max landing weight!
Just learning the A380 after learning the A320. By far the best tutorial startup I have seen. Looking forward to watching all your vids now. Subbed Cheers
Very nice tutorial!, just one thing tho, pilots start the ext power 2 then 3 then 1 then 4, This sequence helps to distribute the electrical load evenly across the four external power units, ensuring that all systems receive the necessary power without overloading any single unit.
Hi, my FCOM says 1-2-3-4 and does not mention any dedicated sequence. Perhabs that's one of those things pilots would come up with on the line or a company procedure?
Excellent as always. Good to have a real world pilot for such tutorials. It’s those extra tips not necessarily relating to the Topic that are really valuable, too.
Nice job. EXT power on sequence should be 1,3,2,4 (boots up the DUs faster and is as per FCOM) Also, FCOM requires a 3 second pause between APU master and APU Start selection.
@@A330Driver That's cool to know! Thanks for letting me know these A380 routes existed at least. I don't think I could fly serious 10 hour flights my limit is only 8 hours 😅
As an avid 737/777 simmer, I am finding myself intrigued by the 380 and ultimately by the way that an Airbus operates. My first few flights had the aircraft pitch up 30 degrees uncontrollably until stall where it would pitch down 30 degrees and the cycle continued. As of yet, I'm not sure why, but I'm sure I'll figure it out through your tutorials. Thanks.
Sounds a lot like something's wrong with your controls. Or you go full thrust with a light aircraft? Be sure to do proper takeoff calculations! If nothing helps, ask for support in the FBW Discord. Lots of great people there to help you out!
Guilty, I'm sure that was it as now that I think about it, I was in TOGA (my first flights were not proper, just experimenting). Thanks. Edit: my first lesson, throttle gates.
@@A330DriverIt’s a bug many have already reported, it’s an aircraft thing. I haven’t had it happen uncontrollably after take off, but I have tested the limits and protections a bit and it is essentially impossible to get it out of a stall or even an approach to stall. Something is definitely wrong with the pitch axis imo But I’m sure they will address it soon. More annoying for me is that I’ve had a CTD on every flight so far, which I’ve maybe had 3 time total in flight sim before… but well, it’s an Alpha
Thanks so much for awesome comprehensive videos! Odd that oil quantity on airbus is measured in "quarts"-ie quarter of a gallon (Imperial) whereby fuel in metric tons.
Hi Emanuel, thank you so much for your Tutorials. Can you pls make a short tutorial on how to set up the honeycomb bravo throttle for the FBW A380? Greetings from EDLD
SOP provided by FBW says external power should be connected in order - 2, 3, 1, 4 for shorter start time of the display units. Does it really matter or you don't bother with it?
I think the main reason for that is switching EXT 2 on first will power both AC BUS 1 and 2 then applying EXT 3 will power AC BUS 3 and 4, EXT 1 will then takeover AC1 and EXT 4 takeover AC4 so it spreads the loads out evenly.
That may be some of the stuff you don't find in the manuals - I based these on the FCOM I have, but of course there are usually some small tricks type rated pilots can tell that you won't easily find written anywhere.
I'm a little confused regarding the use of APU, don't some airports disallow the use of APU up until the very last moment before engine start? I was surprised you said that its SOP to start the APU right away.
Hello, good morning, good afternoon or good evening, how are you? Thank you for this content, I was looking for something like this, well explained and detailed throughout all the phases. I watched all your videos and made a checklist for myself based on them, thank you very much. I am from Brazil. I have a problem, a cruel doubt and I don't know if you could help me. I have a Logitech pedal and I don't know what's happening because during the taxi as well as during landings my A380 drags and barely turns, it's not smooth like yours for example. This does not happen on any aircraft, only on the A380.
A380 looks great! About apu bleed, is it normal to select it on straight after apu is shown as avail? I've always used about 3min delay, recalling some pprune thread about how that is recommended to reduce the chance of fumes in cabin due to not yet warmed up seals etc.
should there be a delay til you be able to start the APU after you have turned on the APU master switch like in the A320? I need to wait like 3s til the start apu button get to work in the a320
I love boeing types but even I could not resist trying out the FBW A380 - however why is it that the battery switches have ZERO annunication... no lighting or text for current state?
Apply some AC power, either GPU or APU, then your plane should come to live. The battery alone is not strong enough to provide power to all airplane systems, so it loadshets anything but the most important systems.
Thanks for the tutorials. 40 minutes just for boarding passengers! I have never had such an experience in MSFS in my life.

Very impressive. I do not have the fbw a320 since I already had the fenix product. But im impressed considering this is freeware.
It sure is!
I didn't know short-haul A380 flights existed. Finally, a flight I can practice with heheh.
Emirates has quite some as well! Dubai-Ryadh, Cairo, Jeddah or Mumbai to name some.
Dubai to BLR, BOM, DEL.
Singapore to DEL and BOM
Are all a380 "short haul" routes
@@athr_blu Thanks I'm going to try those as well.

5:03 The Airbus recommendation on APU bleed - is this recommendation just for the 380, or all series of Airbus aircraft?
The A320 family likes a short waiting time, the A330 and A380 don't need that. Not sure about the A350.
