I did some painting today at my house and listened to Incubus (in the background) and I was not disappointed in what I heard. They have a sound that covers many different genres. I have always liked Brandon's voice, had the pleasure of seeing them live back on Ozzfest in 2000. Was never a HUGE fan of theirs but respect their legacy in music. I'm however a huge Faith no more fan and you can here mike patton's influence in Brandon's singing, which is really cool.
The funny thing here is that I don't know much of Faith No More's musical library. Only what's on the radio in the 90s... so that might be something I need to look into. DannymikReacts Yeh, these guys were mostly in the underground scene and said they preferred touring and doing small venue concerts, they said they had to work really hard and were never considered a “ cool band” , they never had like an “overnight success” they mostly support bands for other groups like SOAD , Deftones, Pantera ...311 and in their early days were often compared to Faith No More and RHCP because of Brandon’s on stage persona in their heyday . He turned out to be a really great vocalist with a fantastic voice and meaningful lyrics . When They finally broke thru with “Drive” that’s when they started to become mainstream and started to get a Lot more radio play , their early music wasn’t deemed “ radio friendly “ but they did well and are still performing today
Ahhh the early 2000's rock extraordinaire, Incubus. They definitely stood out among all of those bands as one of the premiere bands of that time. Brandon's voice is top notch, on a level like no one else. So reminiscent of Mike Patton's style and that is amazing. You should do a reaction on Midlife crisis by Faith no more

I remember back in the 90's there was a death metal band called Incubus as well. Not sure if they are the same group, most likely different bands but the one I listen to was nothing like this at all. This vocalist is flame bro, at 2:30 holy moly, love it. They are definitely doing a lot of grove and mixing it up. Totally amazed by this. At 4:55 to 5:00 wooooo, bro that switch up, so fast then smooth!! excellent.

Hey Brother... there new material has lost a little bit of what makes this band so special but it's still good (from what I've heard). This song came from a time where they were exactly what you just commented. Lots of different genres, a raw sound. Incubus is polished sounding now.... I'm not using their material to take anything away from them, it helps them, especially for concert revenue. They should be a little more popular because their music is really good. Oh man, I’m an Incubus fan from way back. S.C.I.E.N.C.E. is a great album... I was lucky to meet them when they first toured Australia and they were super nice guys. Brandon Boyd’s early Vox reminded me a lot of Mike Patton. Their rhythm section is outrageously tight too. Another stupendous reaction from the KING... Dannymik!!!

Brandon has a great voice, always loved his style of singing, but was never a uge fan of Incubus, not a bad band I just like my music a little heavier. I have seen them back on ozzfest years ago and thought the entire band was on point and tight. Nice review Mr Mik. You done a good job breaking down the music on this one.
So I'm now curious to listen to some Faith No More (after a couple of you said that Brandon sounds like Mike Patton). I seen Incubus (w/Deftones) perform about 3 years ago and they were very solid. They were the headliner but I feel that Deftones was a more exciting set. I also like the more aggressive style so the pit was rocking. Brandon's vocals are 2nd to none and if you liked the guitar sound in the Idiot Box video, you'll love it 100x more in the Morning View Sessions show. Mike was playing PRS Hollowbody Archtops back then. Talk about "chunky" - UNBELIEVABLE tone... He's since switched over to playing Fender for whatever reason. Maybe that's why you don't see people reacting to it, so I have to be very careful. I don't know how strict they are with their regular music videos but I really want to do more Incubus. Oh man, I’m an Incubus fan from way back. S.C.I.E.N.C.E. is a great album... I was lucky to meet them when they first toured Australia and they were super nice guys. Brandon Boyd’s early Vox reminded me a lot of Mike Patton.
Their rhythm section is outrageously tight too.

Most of the new stuff is very polished sounding but that isn't totally a bad thing. Brandon's voice is a huge reason I really enjoy these guys.

Brandon has a great voice, always loved his style of singing, but was never a uge fan of Incubus, not a bad band I just like my music a little heavier. I have seen them back on ozzfest years ago and thought the entire band was on point and tight. Nice review Mr Mik. You done a good job breaking down the music on this one.
So I'm now curious to listen to some Faith No More (after a couple of you said that Brandon sounds like Mike Patton). I seen Incubus (w/Deftones) perform about 3 years ago and they were very solid. They were the headliner but I feel that Deftones was a more exciting set. I also like the more aggressive style so the pit was rocking. I wish that Incubus didn't progress to a much more polished style... S.C.I.E.N.C.E. is such a unique album.

Check out the Morning View Sessions DVD performance (on RUclips) The whole show is amazing from start to finish... Brandon's vocals are 2nd to none and if you liked the guitar sound in the Idiot Box video, you'll love it 100x more in the Morning View Sessions show. Mike was playing PRS Hollowbody Archtops back then. Talk about "chunky" - UNBELIEVABLE tone... He's since switched over to playing Fender for whatever reason. I think i heard something about him and the PRS people being at odds with each other. Anyway, check it out! - AND, Definitely do a reaction vid for "Warning" from that show
Hello @Chris Ros! Here's the thing that I ran into with Incubus... they originally blocked this video for whatever reason. Maybe that's why you don't see people reacting to it, so I have to be very careful. I don't know how strict they are with their regular music videos but I really want to do more Incubus. Maybe I will do a test on a song I know and try to upload it.
The thing here is that I truly love his vocals and the guitars... also totally love the hip-hop vibe felt in their music. Thank you for the view and comments. Stay safe and I hope you're doing well 👊

Bro you need to check out the live videos from Chicago in 1998 when they released this album. Much much heavier the way it was intended to be and the bassist back then was much funkier
