When I was a little kid living with my grandmother, her house was less than 80’ from the C&EI tracks. When we heard a train coming we always ran out of the house and over by the tracks and waved. Not only did the engineers wave back, they threw little bags of candy to me and my sister as the trains went tearing past us. Even the guys in the caboose would wave.
That is soooooo awesome Brodie!!! You wouldn't believe it, today in Germantown TN I was waiting on 16Z and that same engineer, Phil showed up and we got to talk about trains, and catch 16Z together!! It was awesome, he suggested I watched this video =- ) He's a great guy!
Wow!!!!!! Now this is something that very rarely if not happens. This is something so unusual. Train stops and the engineer takes his time to talk with the guy. This is totally awsome. I mean, yea maybe a bus driver would do something like that but it is unheard of for an amtrak train to just stop like that and the engineer comes down to talk with the camera man. That is wow!!!! An awsome engineer.
I noticed whoever putting the amtrak logo on the side of the locomotive forgot tail end of the letter R the letter P was stuck someone forgot recheck there's work.
I know Phil! On our train ride back from New Orleans to Chicago, he got on the train in Carbondale (his base), we met him at Champaign when we got off for a stretch break, and then we walked into Union Station with him! Phil is the best!
so sad from the days when the depot was still there, I would walk the tracks from the interlocking and spend all afternoon there on a Saturday drinking a coke and watching trains. fond memories of when centralia was much more lively and had more to offer railfans. miss the p30chs and Illinois central, gm&o , southern cigar bands, mo-pac eagles and BN green, those were the days
I mean it doesn’t matter if the company isn’t American the thing that matters is if the locomotive is built in America or is built in an American type of way.
Why do US engineers horn so long at every railroad crossing? Are they obligated to do so? It's interegsting to me since in EU it is different due to noise regulations, though sometimes would be better to horn more frequently due to the lot of morons near the tracks.
best job in the world in my opinion i work for union pacific and love this job it can get boring at times but you definitely will meet some interesting people on the rails cool engineer
@@TrainManBrodie started in year 2000 on the tucumcari line in topeka ks as a switch man and also brake man now engineer on the 1-5 corridor as of 2017 driving mostly the sd70 sometimes the es44 out of seattle
Is this the "Saluki" train out of Carbondale? Perhaps the extra baggage car is for the SIU student's bicycles. The engine looks like it is owned by the Illinois Dept of Transportation.
if you goto 48-50 seconds in the video you can see the lettering on the side of the train. The P is actually an R, the leg has peeled off. On the other side of this same loco. the A is also peeling. There are a few videos with this loco showing this. Hope that explains the P
Cool video.. where my dad lives here in Australia.. i know a loco drive thru my scout group and he knew where i lived and he always blew hes horn when he came past as the train tracks ran at the back of my dad place.
Those new Chargers definitely have some better get up and go then the P42 Genesis locomotives they are replacing, much quieter too. Hope they turn out to be good locomotives in the long run!
That's one cool driver. Railways need people like this - quick chat, smile and away we go. Great video :)
Thank you for watching! :)
Then my trian is delay
You think Phil might take me to Centralia next time I head out? XD
The Engineer Seems like he loves his Job, that was really Awesome that you got to talk to him!!
4624’s brother, 4625. My favorite engine is 4624 and seeing her brother is cool
I love Amtpak
That’s cool that he chopped it up you. Nice video kid 👍

A beautiful woman on the platform and my man follows the locomotive.

Thats so me too
She was incredible.

What an awesome view of the gravel.
Is an Amtrak Seimens Charger SC-44 seriosly that slow?
That's a great looking engine and an incredibly nice engineer! As far as the "AMTPAK" goes...it makes me laugh and cry...ha ha!!
Nice new Charger! That was a great convo with the engineer. So cool, Brodie. "AMTPAK." HAHAHAHA!
I think what it is is there is a tail missing on what should be a letter R, but it's a letter P.
I noticed whoever putting the amtrak logo on the side of the locomotive forgot tail end of the letter R the letter P was stuck someone forgot recheck there's work.
@@Survivor1547 It actually got pulled off. Check other utube videos of this same loco. the R is actually there. :)
Welcome aboard AMTPAK 4625 everyone! I'm your conductor and we will be stopping at a crossing to talk to a guy.
Nothing like a video of track ballast to warm the heart.
Incredible woman!
I just completed a cross country trip by Amtrak. I wish I could have met the Engineers. As long as I was on the train you would have thought I did.
Very cool. Slick new loco Charger as well. Thanx.
Hello 0:34 I wish we could’ve seen more of her!!
A Wonderful video of stones and grass while someone mumbles something about something.
Lovely American countryside train video... regards from INDIA 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I doubt its a mispell. Looks like the leg of the R was removed or it fell off
What makes this more awesome is that they misspelled Amtrak on the side of the charger! It's an Amtpak locomotive.
New railroad for 2020: AMTPAK

NICE ITS THE AMTPAK TRAIN!
Wow a new brand Amtpak
I don't know why people complain about the Charger locomotives. I like them.
Well the company is not American. For me thats a big negative.
I mean it doesn’t matter if the company isn’t American the thing that matters is if the locomotive is built in America or is built in an American type of way.

Exactly what you said in the end . Lol .No 2 long blows before going forward 3 when backing up 2 long 1 short 1 long over crossings.
Amazing horn show
I like that zoom shot as the train's coming into the station

When USA international rail and Canadian commuter rail collaborate. XD
Corey page..??
AMTPAK is from roblox train sim
@@kieltigs6463MPG It's written on the side of the locomotive, either by part of the R wearing off, or a miss paint.

Great lok 👍 good video 😍
That's one cool Engineer.
Very cool thanks for posting!
Didn't know the Charger locos were on lease from IDTX
They’re owned by IDOT
that's very rare to see the Amfleet and horizon equipment pulled by the new Charger locomotive
not at all
I like the SC44.
I was an equipment move, But blew my mind was the acceleration from a dead stop.
Thanks, that is so cool.
Nice catch !!! Thank you for sharing !!! :):):)
Hot Girl on platform and a train that has the word Siemens on the side.. Couldn't ask for anything better 😆
Amtpak? 😂
It's actually written in Russian Cyrillic. "АМТРАК" lol. Haha! jk
might be the same engineer my friend from Memphis knows Phil H. He sees him when he boards in Memphis. for CONO.
Yea I Know him to
Excellent video
Just now noticed how it says AMTPAK on the side LOL
One of the few Amtrak engines I ve seen that didnt need to be washed.
Probably because it's brand new.
give it time
The loco pilot looked young and friendly. Not a common site imo. What's with the AMTPAK logo?
That looks snazzy I subscribed:)
Thanks for subscribing! :D
Good shot of the grass but great shots of nice stones...
can't understand why you pointed the camera to the ground until the driver was almost ready to leave?
THAT annoys me too.
What's up with AMTPAK - cheap decals I guess.
Or some one was drunk putting the logo on!
LOL never noticed that!
The engineer did not even notice until the kid said something lol
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ask him how he likes the SC-44's compared to the P42's. I'm interested to know about them from a train crew's perspective.
Btw, I just subscribed.
He says the P42.
Thanks for subscribing!
@@TrainManBrodie My pleasure! And why is it that he likes the P42's better than the SC-44's?
I say F40. You can’t beat the EMD -2 series no matter how much they try to reinvent the wheel.
