  • Panasonic Lumix G100 Review - The best vlogging camera for your money! The Panasonic G100 is the ultimate vlogging camera - not the Sony ZV1. The Panasonic G100 is perfect camera for your vlogging needs, making youtube videos, and anything else. The Pansonic G100 beats the Sony ZV1 in SO many areas, like having interchangeable lenses, and much longer battery life - which is ideal for vlogging. amzn.to/3g4kTqv (affiliate link)

As someone with both G100 and ZV1 I think they are both excellent cameras, although if I had to choose just one I would choose the G100. The ZV1 is great for the Product Showcase feature. Having used it I wish all cameras had this mode. AF is excellent and the super slomo is fun but limited to too short a duration. Battery sucks. Tripod socket location sucks. Over all it suffers from being a compact camera. It looks and behaves like one.
The G100, on the other hand, is more like a bigger camera and has many bigger camera features, including a better battery. It is the interchangeable lenses that make it a real winner. The ZV1 is perfect for beginners but the camera cannot grow with growing skills and growing desires to get more creative. The G100, however, is great for more advanced users. It can accommodate growing skill levels and can take any lens that will fit on MFT mount including vintage lenses, and can use DSLR lenses using speedboosters. Super fast lenses, long telephotos, tilt shift, any lens to do any photographic or video adventure. I highly recommend the MarkusPix video on why he chose the G100 over the ZV1 and M50. He really shows that the G100 is capable of so much more than just vlogging. Here is that video: ruclips.net/video/35KV31_CT5I/видео.html

We are looking to buy a vlogging camera and the Sony ZV1 was on the top of our list. Thanks so much for this video - this Panasonic camera was not really on my radar. Being able to change lenses is a big plus. And I had not heard about the battery life on the ZV1. I really appreciate your videos.

Very good video review based on real personal experience instead of only reading a list of specs. Great work!

Great video and love how you tested out the features and more. I just got it and still testing it out. I also have the ZV1. Also testing out the Lumix S5 which I love but the focus is so unrealiable. Thanks again for a great video

I tried the Sony ZV-1 first but I am looking for something different. BUT, one GREAT thing about the ZV-1 is that it can run on USB power indefinitely, just tether it to a USB power bank and you don't get that short battery life issue. Of course, that means you have a USB wire connected while you use it, but it does fix that short battery life issue indefinitely, which is great for live video on RUclips.
Still, I believe I am getting the G100 because I can get better quality video with better lenses. HUGE deal to me.

You mentioned 30 min of 4K recording ... was that for the battery ? Because I thought the G100 had a 10 min record limit in terms of the file limit, before you need to press record again.

Question: does your camera display turn off when you plug in the micro HDMe? Says disabled Never had this issue when using G95 to livestream. Just curious. Searched everywhere

Are you still recommending this camera. The g100 would be good for street photography especially pared with the Panasonic 14mm lens

It’s a great camera and not just for vlogging. Panasonic pigeon holed it as a vlogging camera when in reality it takes great pics as well. They need a new marketing team.

I'm not that of a camera guy but it looks cool. I think Panasonic is saying we can make better cameras to Sony!

Believe me Panasonic makes better cameras. The Fuji and Panasonic color sciences are the best. Sony is just really good in AF. Panasonic is good too, we should wait for firmwares updates for the G100, and other cameras like the GH5 receives a lot of good feedback. Thinking about getting the GH5

Problem with Sony Zv1 is that it's not all too wide, Panasonic rocks, and I prefer Panasonic color science anyways. It's way more realistic than Sony

The ZV1 is very good, but the battery life and fixed lens killed it for me. It's better for product showcasing, for sure.

It was at the beginning unless you customized your settings. An update firmware helped a lot correcting flaws.
