My goldfish is sooo derpy. He picks up gravel pebbles and then throws them at the glass. Lol
Bro, ur man is trying to bust out
Omg mine did the same, it also jumped out of the tank whenever we fed it.
It’s him trying to get you to feed him, mine puts rocks on our fake plants, man I love goldfish

4:43 -- Java Fern
5:03 -- African Fern (Bolbitits)
You a real one thanks👍👍👍👍👍💯💯💯💯
Thank you!
But yeah, right!
My goldfish already ate a moss ball, and it is currently on the process of eating my anubia 😭
I hope the other 3 work. Wish my good luck.
my goldfish destroyed my moss balls actually
x.pq. x my goldfish ate the moss balls-
My angels have been savaging my crinums, something to think about
Corey I call my goldfish naughty. They have eaten every plant, except a small anubis tucked in a decoration.
They knock down the decorations, knock off the filter extender a d splash me in the eye while trying to feed them. They are too funny and never a dull moment.🤣🤣🤣🙄
Quick question when they lay eggs do they attach to everything? I can't figure out if it is new food not being eaten or not.🤷♀️
Had to clean the aquarium last night including everything inside the tank. They were much happier this morning. Not giving them any of the new food I purchased.
Hi Cory. Aquarium coop is my favorite RUclips channel. Thanks for teaching me about fish.
I just got 2 crinums and 2 Java ferns from you guys for my goldfish tank and I put them in easy planters so they won't be messed with. There is some melting on the crinum after several days as expected, but I can't wait to see it grow overtime!
That one black goldfish at the top isn’t looking too good
Stoner
Goldfish are like cats!?! Lol!
Goldfish like Cats are always begging for food. Goldfish unlike Cats happily eat anything you feed them; Goldfish are not picky eaters.
Catfish have left the chat
I think they are like dogs, and bettas are like cats
My goldfish (a veil-tail comet, I think) enjoys playing with moss balls.
Another plants in her tank are emersed lucky bamboo, fully grown dwarf water lily, and water hyacinth. All doing nicely.
Very tempted to try some bolbitis if I can find one!
Another I would suggest is Pythos quick growers and suck up nitrate well. They also don’t need a lot of sun
lol moss balls 🤣 i tried moss balls, they shredded them in minutes.
I laughed at that one too. My gold fish ate a whole moss ball, and it is currently working on an anubia lol
@@ElWiinosauriio they're really the cats of the fish world lol. can't have anything nice😂
Hortwort(coontail) that's all I get away with my fancy tail she eats everything
Get a castle already!😁 In the 800
Tried all of these in the past and the crinum was the only survivor, the moss balls were a disaster they destroyed them and there was moss ball throughout the tank. I've had success with vallisneria gigantea as it grows quickly and they don't seem to like the taste!
Ditto, my moss looks like a couple of flat tires lol.
Thanks! I was able to intervene and save my moss balls when they started picking at them, but all my java ferns were uprooted or eaten, my amazon sword and micro sword were both chewed down to the roots, and all my hornwort and bacopa vines were picked barren.
I'll give those two plants a shot. If they don't work, there's always room in my other tanks.
Thats crazy that java fern didn't work for you
My goldfish shredded the Java Fern and Marimo Moss Ball I had put in there, oops. I still love them.
I'm getting some Anubias tomorrow so this is great information. And I can easily get a moss ball
I have 2 common and 3 comets. They ate everything I had in my tank including Java fern, Java moss and amazon swords. They don't eat with my anubias barteri. I have a high light Tank, and need something to shade the anubias.
My goldfish have moss balls and mouse ear plant. So far so good. I feed them cichlid excel and omega one gold fish food. They seem to prefer the food. They've demolish the odd moss ball. I hear java moss is ok so I might try grow it on some type of mesh and stick it in with suction cups. My problem is looking at my tank it reminds me of a swimming pool look.
I found a plant from a lake put it in my 20 gallon for 15 year old gold fish and he ate it
the water wisteria in my goldfish tank is growing like a weed. heheh
what kind of glue do you use thats safe to glue plants to decorations? brand name would be appreciated. also where can i learn more about how to do so? links? trying badly to learn for my goldfish. i've been using fishing line.
I have anubias, Cryptocoryne Balansae and cryptocoryne wendtii with goldfish
I received a goldfish as a gag gift for my birthday and I now wanna upgrade to a 10gallon with maybe some bottom dwellers or small schoolers what are ideal cold water tank mates for a comet goldfish?
My goldfish really liked the taste of the moss balls I used in my tank
i put a bunch of floating plants in my goldfish tank, excess from my guppy tank and the goldfish ate them all in a day OMG! lol
I can’t believe Krypts didn’t make this list!
Do goldfish avoid eating them?
@@Vesdus yes!
@@Crystal-bb4jn Thank you!
@@Crystal-bb4jn which crypts do goldfish not eat?
What about floating plants like water lettuce
Great video! Thanks for being such a well educated person on variety of fish keeping you’re so helpful
IS CRINUM CALAMISTRUM ok for smaller tanks like a 75 gallon? I have a 10 inch goldfish fully grown over 10 yrs old
I just toss hornwort in and it does the job lol. Probably the only plant I’ve had no problems with.
My Goldies eat it like there is no tomorrow
Yeah they pick the individual pines off them until there is nothing left.
Woow, just before I put in an online order for aquatic plants. I had been doing some reading on plants I could fix in my goldfish tank. Perfect timing!

My fish love nibbling on elodea. I grow it in a second, smaller tank and put it in there purely for them to enjoy.
What about hornwort? I’m having great luck with it in my goldfish tank
I bought my goldfish from Petco, the tank said Comet goldfish. I shared my fish to a Facebook group... everybody screamed at me!!!!
They are common... Not Comet !!! Lol
Only one has a longer tail fin, the other four have a shorter tail.
Body types all look the same.
The coloring on them is a little bit different two are more gray looking... one of the orange ones had a lot of black that's all turns orange and one of the orange ones is turning white.
Anyway, in one of your question-and-answer videos... you said common and Comet are the same!
The group I'm in seems to think that shortround tells our common and anything that has a longer fancy flowing tail is a comet.
The research I did doesn't really specify!? Could you do a video just on the differences and or there's No difference!?! Lol
I've seen so lany people recommend moss balls for goldfish. But I've seen rip a chunk out of them. So I've got them separated from the fish along with the rest of the plants.
No stem plants and no carpet plants. Everything else is fare game.
I love your content thank you
Uhmm... what is that plant in the thumbnail???
A lily pad plant is pretty good plant as well people always think they should only be in ponds but they look good in aquariums too and they have thick stems that wont get eaten just tie down roots like other plants
I'am gping to try that. Ma ma knows somebody that has extra in her tank i guess. Might my first plant, but would like to get a few seen on here.
i had a goldfish in a bowl, and it died after 4 years. Now im getting an aquarium with probably 2 or 3 goldfish
Not supposed to have the goldfish in a bowl anyway
For 2 goldies you'll need a 40 gal and for 3 you'll need a 60 gal
I love goldfish and plants, so I know I already love this video!😍❤️
For me, moss balls were a disaster. They kept picking at them until they started to flatten out, and they clogged my filter. I do not recommend moss balls personally.
What about floating plants?
Would there be any issue in chopping up larger moss balls into a bunch of smaller ones and using them as my “substrate”?
Sir can i add live plants in my single tinfoil barb tank?
Will they eat the plants?
Please note that my tinfoil is very small and only 2 inches in size
Plz reply fast
Can you have bonsai tree in oranda tank?
I want goldfish in my kitchen. 75gl should be great. Sadly the finance committee has not approved this, yet.
Easier to get forgiveness than it is to get permission
@@lukeclarke1068 very true!!
What sizes tank to you have?
I had terrible results putting zucchini in my goldfish tank (for my pleco). They loved it. and then they ate it. And then they realized they could eat my Anubias and they won't stop x.x . The tank was established with these fish over a year before they met the zucchini and moved their palette to the plants lol
My goldfish have destroyed both Moss Balls and Java Ferns, but I'll give the other 3 a try.
Perfect timing! I'm thinking of getting plants/decor as a Christmas gift for a friend's tank and this helps as they have goldfish!
I have two commons and they over the course of a few months destroyed a 3-year old giant java fern I had :-(
Can you do this for cichlids
Like peacock or mubuna
Vallesneria I'd imagine would work well. They have thicker leaves, big roots, and are longgggg.
For me it didnt work either lol, they lasted 2 months with these...goats
My naughty goldfish destroyed my 4 year old moss ball in 10 minutes while I wasn’t watching. 😩. Crinum and swords have held up. They love to lay eggs on the swords and sit in them. They mouth the crinum but don’t actively tear it up.
Thank goodness I was just about out of fish keeping videos to watch😂
I have a tank with 4 crypt species, valisnaria and echinodorus. Never touched, never bothered with
Have you tried other plants with them?
@@Vesdus yeah they eat most of them unfortunately
I have 5 common goldfish, the biggest is about 6 inches long, and they've eaten every plant that I've ever put in their tank. Fighting algae is tiring, so I'm looking for plants they won't eat. I'll give those ones a try.
@@Vesdus id get an echinodourus that’s got tough leaves and an already good root system and possibly weight them down or place between hardscape. They’ll probably still pull some up but they work with mine. If you want to check out one of my tanks, not the goldfish, search tropiczen jungle tank
@@cameronadams1125 Thanks buddy! I'll check out that video right now.
My goldfish have ripped apart and eaten every plant I've put in their aquarium; moss balls shredded, large java ferns ripped apart, Anubias barteri they ripped away the leaves and made them float even though I attached the plant to a rock, I even have the onion plant in the video and they have stripped the leaf parts off the stem 😢 and I've tried regular pond weed but they ate all of it to the point there were no leaves on it anymore 😭. Think I'm gonna just go with fake plants from now on (I give them veggies too and they still ruin all the plants 😢).
My goldfish are eating my java fern and anubias plants, and my pathos roots. It's beyond annoying!
Great info as always!
Please inculcate a goldfish hobby only Everyone.
I have java fern and anubias in with my goldfish. Like those plants as they don't need to be planted into substrate
Sir i get an internal filter with air flow and that one sucks all poop of my goldie and cleans the tank bit i always changes 30% water every weak. I don't have any substrate in the tank so that's easy to clean. 😄
Can I have amazon frogbit in my tank with goldfish?
Hahahha my 2 hooligan goldies uprooted my foxtails hahaha thanks for this info.
Would you recommend still adding nutrients such as excel or flourish?
They destroyed my mossball within 4 days
Sadly they don't tell u the name of plants in India they call all plants just plants😔
my gold fish destroyed all my moss balls, shredded them, pulled out tuffs at a time.
I think my goldfish just eat my moss balls
What about plants for koi fish?
If you are really interested in planted goldfish tanks, check out MDfishtanks, he did an amazing aquascape with goldfish!
my gold fish even ate java fern and gave out green poop.
Water lilies (but them let them grow a bit first) :)
The lily is the only plant in my pond they don't destroy.
Mine have killed my gorgeous lily and all the hornwort. Little crazy pirhanas.
what fish is that on @4:30 ? the black and white one
My fish always destroy the moss balls
Great advice, thanks Cory
Next video could be what plants to grow specifically to feed your gold fish!
Braden Ellis duckweed and riccia should be on it
My fish destroyed all the moss balls
What about water lettuce?
Hi. I have just subscribed. I have 6 small goldfish outside in a pond. I am bringing them inside for winter. I am getting their tank ready and this video is great to help me choose some plants. I have a question please. My goldfish are just the ordinary comet type and 2 shubunkins. Can I keep them in an open top tank like yours or will they jump out ? Thank you 🙂
Usually they won’t jump out. Not impossible but usually only happens if they get spooked.
@@AquariumCoop Thank you. Because I have a lid that I want to remove so that I can use a different type of Filtration.
Hey Cory, any Carpet plants you think would work with Goldfish? Maybe Monte Carlo or something?
what about small 2 inch sized tinfoil barb?
wil they destroy plants too?
have u guys ever kept them in planted tank?
plz reply, i need help
Thanks for the video. I'm always interested in any advice, thoughts, suggestions and other's personal experiences with aquatic plants.
Awesome goldfishes. Decorate well. You will thank your goldfishes for your life. 😀😀

Hey dude, love the channel especially when you visit Dean.. Where are you located ?? I thought I heard you were in Delaware.. If so, my wife's sister and brother-in-law live there in Milton, close to Rehoboth Beach.. They come down 3 or 4 times a year, to Virginia.. If you are from around there, I may purchase some fish from you and they can bring them down.. I would buy one of those battery powered air pumps and have it shipped to them before and they should make it down with no problems.. If you aren't from there, I will wait until spring and get some fish shipped here.. You are straight up crazy for going to Japan, dude.. That place in totally radiated and not safe at all.. Thanks, I have learned tons of info from watching your show..
My goldfishes are so stubborn, they destroyed most of the aquarium plants I bought.
Just jam a ton of hornwort in your tank. The goldfish will have plenty of fun foraging for and nibbling every tiny little crumb stuck within its leaves. Since hornwort just floats in the water; no worries about it being uprooted; it's a floating plant. It looks grate, when a bunch of it's, in the tank.
What is your favorite fancy goldfish?
I looked this up because they munching the hornswort plants I bought yesterday, so I kept them away on a separate place.
Need to overlay this list with salt hardy plants so when I dose the tank i don't have to pull the plants every time...
Why do you have to dose your tank with salt? I've never heard of that being necessary for freshwater tanks.
Master Markus salt’s actually the original fungicide/antiseptic/antiparasitic for fish keeping. A lot of countries don’t let you get OTC meds for fish, and salt works very well for a lot of things.
Java fern is supposed to handle it very well. Also I’m finding water sprite is handling small amounts of salt in the water just fine (I have a semi brackish water fish and so I tend to dump small bits from the brine shrimp hatchery into that tank without rinsing it at all)
What kind of air bubbles are those? Are they weighted or suction cupped?
Could I get lava rock from your online store or does another RUclipsr's online store
My black moors tore my poor moss balls to shreds. I should have watched this video first.
Tbh i had luck with smaller anubias species. My goldie is not too big tho, to be fair (stunted growth rescue).
Nice! Thanks for this ❤️
My goldfish destroyed my Java Fern haha! But I don't have fancies.
Mah mans thanks for video now i know how to get plant for my goldfish ✨
