That was a great video. Thank you! I’m planning to do the same job on a Nissan Leaf, which shares some similar components. I just hope there’s not too much “wiggling and jiggling” necessary. 😊
Hey mate, I am working on the same thing on the wifeys Juke. I found it uber easy to remove the arm, but omfg, was it a nightmare to try and get those bolts back in. I am still trying to get it in there and was wondering how you managed to do it. Did you remove the arm back out and re-insert it with both sides before putting the ball joint back into the knuckle?
Random question... why do the bolts go from bottom up. Rather than top down? In my head I'm thinking that would stop the part coming off if the nut worked loose, because the bolt would still be in the hole. But I'm not a mechanic. It's just something I thought about while watching. 😁
The back bolt was too close to the chassis had to go up and in same for front one but they have unlock nuts to keep them secure and a Torq setting off 180 nm where possible on other vehicles they do go in from the top for the exact reason as you said
No you was right just they make cars now body is stoped over engine as it's all fixed to a subframe some cars you have to drop the subframe to get to the bolts they are a real nightmare to do

What was the torque specs for the 3 bolts with new control arm
From memory 150 nm
Thank you
Np glad to help
Just had mine replaced both sides they were a nightmare hard to get out especially the actual ball joint and an equal pain to put the new ones in .
The ball joint fell out on this one took me about an hour for both sides thanks for watching and commenting
Do we need to wheel alignment after replacing that control arm?
Yes always best to
