- Overwatch 2 time..HAMMEH IS NOT DEAD - have just been resting! Here's a Channel Update, where I've been/what's been happening the last year or two, and what'll be happening and not here in future. Time for some new Overwatch 2 videos, the return of some old favourites, and more Blizzard, gaming, and other lore, story and world-building videos.
Big thanks to all of you firstly for being here, whether months or years, or over 6 years. From the world of Overwatch 2 Lore (vids will always be here!), but also exploring more Blizzard, video game lore and worldbuilding, and the lore and stories of worlds beyond video games even...
Thanks for the patience and sorry for my quiet - it's been quite a few years and lots has changed, but me wanting to create content stays the same :)

Sorry on the quiet! Big general update from me on well, the last few years - and what you may see some of here (and elsewhere) from now on!
I have some unfinished business, given a spilt tea fried a hard drive the first Overwatch 2 Beta. I'll get Overwatch/Overwatch 2 Lore content caught up in coming weeks and months, as well as voicelines, interactions and similar videos you've enjoyed if you've been here a bit. Then - we will see...I will make content and videos, it's just in what form, what about, and where!

It’s been a rough couple of years for everyone, good on you for taking care of yourself it hurts when I see content creators not take care of themselves, I’m excited for the story stuff 🥰

Overwatch lore is the only part of the game i really cared for, and when the Blizzard scandals came to light after a drought of new lore i kinda burned out. It's going to be interesting to see how OW2 gives the franchise a breath of new air.
If you do expand into new games, I'll absolutely stick around. You present lore in such a clean and professional manner. Be it Valorant, LOL, Darksouls or Zelda, i'd gladly watch it all.

Yeah, I feel you on last year - it was a really tough time for the Blizzard employees not involved in everyone going on of course. And the communities by proxy. I hope that OW2 can give a new crowd, and the old crowd, something to enjoy. Feels like it can :)
Thanks for saying that - I will absolutely give it a go, have been meaning to here for years..OW and blizzard games will be here for now, but will try other things too here as I have in past. if a new channel is needed, so be it. Appreciate the support and kind words, hope you're keeping well too!
Overwatch 2 has been a complete disaster to the point that its very very dangerous to do overwatch content in the modern day. Positive covrage of anything overwatch is frowned upon. Players of overwatch are considered probloms in gameing and society in general. There are only two sides of this and the anti side is brutal and mercyless and of a spesfic political alignment. Anything positive said about overwatch or blizz. is a good way to get canceled basically, Personaly I think he needs to do a different game. Unless you are a youtuber who can handle politics and being considered part of one political party then overwatch content can not be covered. As once more. There is only two political sides and their are devided on this game. Support = far right cancelation = far left cancel culture. There is few shades of grey. The games audience is not of the left wing. Which is ironic considering their pandering to left wing values in the game.
I love the idea of you doing video essays! I usually enjoy just putting them on while doing other stuff. An hour or so of listening to you go off on topics your passionate about while I'm being productive sounds like a treat!

Hello Hammeh! Really glad to hear from you again. :) Obviously it’s most important that you take care of yourself, but if you are feeling up to making overwatch videos again then I am so excited to see them! They were always my favorite, not enough people focus on lore and story.
And as for things we wanted to see, I don’t even know if this is possible but years ago I remember wishing that maybe with the short stories and stuff- like if you read them aloud like a sort of audio book? I get that for the novels that couldn’t happen but maybe just the stories. You have such a soothing voice, and I really like that kind of thing. Although, with what you said about losing your voice recently maybe that’s not such a great idea! I just remembered I had wanted to suggest it forever ago.

I've thought of that on the short stories - may well give it a go! I did a world of warcraft story reading one time on this channel, unsure if I need to work on voices, or just read it all in my voice. Will have a think!

Honestly have wanted to do more lore/storytelling content beyond Overwatch for ages - Blizzard games, other games and beyond. I've talked about it a lot, but I think either a new channel, or slowly adding bits here might be the way. We'll see!

Good on you for taking care of yourself and taking the career opportunities that are right for you. I've been in a very similar place over the past couple of years, and finally feeling like I'm stepping out and making some of my own choices. Everything you said here really resonates with me.

Lore content idea: Stormgate (by Frost Giant)
Blizzard has forsaken RTS, so Stormgate will probably be the closest thing we get to StarCraft 3!

I still love Overwatch too, I know a lot has happened but I'm cautiously optimistic that the fandom will start to revive once the sequel drops.
Amen. I think it's realistic to not expect the past highs, but something new, sustainable and healthy. The bigger the better of course, that's nice, but above all it has to be solid for the future :)
Theres nothing optimistic about overwatch. The brutal truth is overwatch and blizz are so heavy in terms of politics at this point. That you can NOT do content on overwatch safely and neutrally. Overwatch and blizz is heavy politics now you can't just ignore it. You must take a stance on blizz or overwatch and everything relateing to them. Any positive words about overwatch will be criticized and broken down and your life and polotics will be brought into it. This is not a casual thing to talk about anymore. The future of overwatch is not good and is not going to be good.

Well after a fair amount of time away, I'm glad to jump on with 2 (hopefully during the beta.) I can't state enough, as someone who was into the game for it's lore, fun community and not the ultra comp swamp it became, this was and is my favorite overwatch channel. Shout outs to ohnickel.

Did they ever give a solid answer on how the PvE content will be delivered? I figured they'd have enough story content finished by then to launch the free PvP and paid PvE together but I guess not
So - PVE not this year is really what we've had so far. No real defined things on how it'll come, price or otherwise...but, let's get the game updated and going again first. I love the PVE - played it 2 years back, or what it was then at Blizzcon! However, having momentum with PVP rather than waiting even longer for everything is honestly a solid move.
@@Hammeh I'd definitely prefer to have what's finished be released first as well, but as someone who enjoys the story and tiny bit of PvE the original got I just wish we had at least a little more to go off of than just '2023', everything they've shown of it with the unique skill trees for everyone looks super fun just hope its as fleshed out as they've made it seem

I like your videos, but I could really use some real closed captions. The voice is always a bit soft and it's sometimes super hard for me to hear and the auto captions aren't great 🥲
