Overwatch 2 Lore and story is marching on as we move towards the Overwatch 2 beta - D.va and MEKA fans have lots to be excited about in the new Overwatch New Blood Comic!
We get an insight into MEKA's daily operations, Cassidy, Zarya, Pharah and Baptiste in combat, the events in Korea around Zero Hour and much more!
The whole comic sets up a chunky reunion of Overwatch 2 at Watchpoint Gibraltar, so, hopefully we're by no means done yet with lore and story reveals!
I have a good run through the whole comic, panel by panel, see what we learn, and then speculate as to what we might be given hints for!

The New Blood comic series was a very good read. I thought it was better than Tracer’s London Calling one in many ways. I was very surprised to see Fareeha appear in this short series, glad she reunited with Ana and joined the newly-reformed Overwatch team.
Agree Paddy, enjoyed this one!
Tracer one was a nice character story, enjoyed the arc and range of characters in this one!
Im so glad we have a comic that moves the story fowards for once. Although if anything shown and Jeff has told us about, I can't help but be sad that Hanzo won't get the same treatment or at least not soon(he is too hard to be inserted into the story, or so I have heard).

@@Hammeh And thank you for returning once you could. It's not often that a creator returns after some needed time off. At least not the Overwatch related ones. So having a familiar voice come back is a bit of a nice change of pace.
You have no idea how good it is to have you back, Hammeh. Knowing you'll be around to go in-depth on the lore and for any more comics that may come out makes the long, long wait for when OW2's campaign finally becomes available that much more bearable.
The panel at 8:31 where Overwatch arrives and Pharah let's loose...I got goosebumps. From a comic!?

God… I’m never going to get used to calling him Cassidy. McCree is just ingrained in my brain
I still call him McCree. Couldn't give a damn what people say. Not my fault they think of that real life controversial fella first and not the actual character 😅
Besides, McCree sounds much more of a cowboy name than Cassidy if I'm honest
Same and I just still use the original name because I've been playing the game for 6 years. Speaking of Meka squad Overlord is useful as a support because healing a Flying Pharah & Echo is evenly split between himself and Mercy. Because other heaters cannot get themselves into the air provided Echo or Pharah are flying.

i havent really been into overwatch in YEARS. ive slowly been getting back into it though with overwatch 2 around the corner. Watching this made me feel sooo nostalgic because i used to watch your videos all the time back when i was really into the game and the lore and i remember really liking your voice. Im happy to see you're still making these 🥺❤
finally some lore 😂, they need to hurry and make this a netflix series like Arcane, i love the story but it’s so slow to develop 😭

You and me both Issy! Arcane I think was like 6 years in the making, need to check. Awesome series. Gives context that these things can take a while to make well!
Sad of course that the story mode/pve is on the back foot a little for pvp to take a focus, but regular game updates are important so I think for the health of the game, it's a good plan.
I think with the right team OW could be a great series topic! They don't have to beat Arcane, they can make something good and different :)
@@Hammeh i guess you’re right, it can be seen as a good plan, i just feel like i’ve been waiting for a story mode forever lol, i like the comics but they can only hold me over for so long until the real thing😂
and yeah an OW series could be awesome, each of their shorts is like a perfect snippet of what a series could be, if done right it could be just as good arcane while of course staying original and different, arcane was just an example. OW already has the story/plot, the diverse group of unique characters and an amazing team of animators, it’s mind boggling to me they don’t have a show already😂
Really hoping the Meka squad is playable down the line!

I read the comic and I was surprised that Dae-hyun Park didn't return to make another appearance or tags along D.va to join the new iteration of Overwatch. He is her assigned mechanic after all.

So korea's sole defence are 5 teenagers, part of me was thinking that there were more than one MEKA team, but instead they are now missing their best pilot. The city should really fortify the cost line with AA-guns and SAM for flying enemies, artillery, SRBM and MRLS for the big ones and torpedos for subnautic units.
Looking at how the team wears the uniform it seams that D.Mon is the most stern and professional of the bunch

@@lilbaphy I hate how they’re introducing every single MEKA squad member, literally putting their mechs into the game only to have D.Va be the only one to join the new OW team.

Hopefully another in future Jeremy! Although D.va is frequently cited as being the character that can technically break the game most from devs in interviews 🥺

I feel McCree is going to be the new force captain of Overwatch. I think it would be kind of fitting that Reaper's protégée got the role. I know Winston is the de facto leader right now, but I could see him stepping down.

As D.va is quite a 'weird' hero technically in code, she can cause some slight problems, devs have said in past. I wouldn't expect them all, maybe in future one might be on the cards? Here's hoping, people certainly love the MEKA crew!

When will we see D.Va's new look redesign anyway for the OW2 from now? I hope she'll get an eye goggle attaching on her headphone and microphone on it though, will see on the animated shorts for this month from now.🤔🎧👔

I found d.va's lore so incredibly inconsistent. Like, dva asks to cooperate with overwatch, captain says "no-no international issues weh". Then MEKA Squad was about to be overwhelmed by null sector and the capitain was like "Nope I cannot dispatch Korea's strongest weapon to cover u guys go fight those thousands of bots alone good luck"... then overwatch shows up, saves the day and suddenly cooperation is a-ok and not only that, but the captain is 100% fine with dispatching to Gibraltar one of the FIVE kids that she thought were good enough to fight a horde of omnics as a team. Hello? South Korea is doomed.
🤣🤣 laughing with you here. I think..it's a typical one comic arc. So things did kind of happen pretty fast.
Captain Myung was sympathetic to Overwatch behind closed doors to D.va earlier on. The MEKA crew were kind of ordered to retreat and cover civilians when they started getting picked off.
I agree that the Captain has had a volt face pretty fast in allowing D.va to leave - how will MEKA cope I'm her absence? Maybe recruit a new pilot?
D.va leaving at the end can make sense in the comic, but does leave a few questions to be asked for sure :) personally, I was willing to suspend any disbelief for this one, fun story :)
@@Hammeh if they had done a couple of time skips to give a different pacing, maybe it wouldnt have left me with that feeling and could still fit in a single comic... but no matter how sympathetic the captain was behind all the political nonsense, her decision still felt too rushed to me :s idk the previous editions didnt hit weird like this one did.
Man the sad reality seeing his views go down purely because Overwatch became so stale is sad to see. Hope Overwatch 2 fixes it but I'm doubtful.
It's all ok Tadan! I haven't published videos as frequently for over a year now, and RUclips the platform / algo hates that. Equally it's been me being busy with things, so any less views I have are only partially anything OW related..me making videos would have helped too ;)

Well… it was overall a good read. But i wasn’t much into it. I mean, these characters are all still too bland, and cringe, with no depth whatsoever, no matter how good their design is, this won’t change that. They should have made a Netflix series with some real storytelling and plot. And it’s seems the story of the game isn’t going to be so different.

Characters that were intended to be gay will always mean more to me the fan forced ones . plus mercy genji is cute af and not weird like pharamercy
Who knows! Until it's Canon, everyone is right and everyone is wrong simultaneously..some may never be canon, too. As long as people can enjoy what they like, and let others enjoy what they like too...everyone can be happy :)
