Sombra continues to look out for her people, even her former teammates. She might make some implicit threats to Baptiste when they're on the same team, but refuses to give up his location to Mauga.
It's cool Sombra is looking out for him- based on her opinions, interesting how Talon wants bap back, work with Sombra who could find him, but can't force her to help!! 🤣

sombra is in talon just because it benefits her, as soon as those benefits become irrelevant they are just dead weight and she will ditch them, and bap may be of help later on if she ever decides overwatch has better benefits than talon
Her layered morality is the core of the appeal

I REALLY love Mauga's voice actor. He's so perfect for the role.

It’s a little annoying that he’s got a full blown American accent though. The only time you hear proper Samoan/islander accent is on the ult line.

Not gonna lie, I love his personality. He's so jovial and comical but smarmy and patronizing at the same time. Also the fact that he's so easily able to annoy Sombra. It was established in his origin story but he plays up the "dumb muscle" stereotype but is actually pretty intelligent, which I think is cool.

Widowmaker's probably looking at how frustrated Sombra gets when Mauga's around and thinking "Now you know what it's like."
He made Sombra switch up. She was so annoyed but ended up smirking at the end of the animation 😂😂😂

Mauga is one of my favorite character types. A big strong guy who seems like a dumb brute at first glance, but is deceptively smart. What's scarier is he knows people underestimate his intelligence because of his relaxing fun personality, but he doesn't make any effort to correct that mistake because he can only gain by being underestimated. Those are the ones you really gotta watch out for

The "A Great Day" animated trailer for Mauga really shows he's an amazingly fast thinker and can improvise great plans on the move. Not to mention he's a walking contradiction: He's a giant brute with serious combat acumen and big brains behind all the jokes and carefree, run-and-gun attitude.
Crazy how Mauga of all people is the only one who can get under sombra's skin. Also did he really tell genji his sword's too small?

Id say in the grand scale of things, he is a little above middle of the road. He isnt simple minded like junkrat, but he's also nowhere near winston, sigma, or hammond levels of book smart.
It really makes sense to me this "reluctant underling" thing they have between Mauga and Doomfist.
Mauga is essentially what we all thought dps Doomfist was gonna be when he was shown in his origin animated trailer.
He definitely has street smarts. He doesn't waste his time too much with all that book stuff if it doesn't make him money. But he did learn about melting points it seems.
That is a very interesting interaction between Mauga & Zarya. Talking about he has 2 hearts installed & sports competition wouldn't allow someone with 2 hearts to compete.
Like doomfist with his arm and not being allowed to compete, talon members just want to play sports;)

2 things i love.
1.Sombra yet again shows she has some ounce of care for a member of Talon. First Sigma, now Baptist.
2.Mauga likes muscle mommy, just like any sane man.

I know they tried to give us a charismatic Junkerqueen, but Mauga just hits those right spots that makes you smile when you listen to him talk. That and it’s nice to see he still respects Bap (or at least seems like he isn’t holding a grudge too much, but then he could be trying to trick him). I think my favorite line from all of this was “NOT THE PIZZAS!” as if he realized he might have gone too far with what he did previously.
That and he is really respectful to Zarya.

@@FezMooseLive I like the Junkerqueen too. She is a delight in her own right, but I feel like she kind of borders Junkrat (who is also a delight, but not sure about the doubling down).
I guess after all the heroes we got, Junkerqueen and Mauga are the ones that are making Overwatch feel like fun (at least as far as character interactions go).

Back during mauga's test run I had managed to get a NASTY quad in no limits, and our mauga finished off the opposing teams mauga afterwards. He's definitely gonna have a lot of really good combo potential

I love rein as a character, reminds me alot of myself tbh. The whole wanting to deal with someone's shit later, and telling yappers when to shut up is a vibe.
Feel like rein was really the only hero to effectively put mauga in his place with that line

Mauga and doomfists interaction is short simple and they sound badass.

If only Doomfist was strong in the game like he is in the lore. Currently (and especially against Mauga) he hits like an arthritic kitten, dies to a stiff breeze, and his only saving grace is his high mobility and stun.
@@tau-5794 A lore accurate Doomfist would be awful to play against. But they always end up giga-buffing or nerfing him everytime, so just watch out for the patch notes to find out which version of him is now

I mean they were pretty close, they were like brothers and even call each brother in the interactions. Anyways it looks like mauga has a huge thing going on for zarya. Definitely a definition of a POWER couple.

Outside of his interactions with Bap (which are GOOD) the most surprising and interesting one is his relationship with Sojourn out of all people. Seems like there's some mutual respect and I would love to see more of it.

The lore fact that Mauga and Baptiste used to run together I think is really cool. Ive always liked how a lot of the Tanks and the Supports have connected back stories like Ramattra and Zen

It’s kinda nice that sombra wont track down Baptiste for Mauga because Mauga is too destructive for him. It seems like Talon does care about each other regardless of their choices, and still supports each other at least enough to not drag them back into their fight. They want out, they get out, and they stay out, and there’s very few hard feelings (at least for sombra).
I feel like Sombra is the outlier when it comes to this, you know how Baptiste got out of Talon originally right?
Talon literally doesn't care, they let you quit sure but they also sent someone after you.
Bap just lucky he got his Best Friend to finished him and instead of getting killed Mauga offers Bap to join again.
Bap had his entire squad hunt him down after he left talon and he killed all of them but mauga 1 at a time. Could just be that his group was just petty
iirc there's an interaction where sombra asks "Where have you been baptiste" and he responds "don't act like you don't know" and then she just laughs and says that's why she likes him

If you have sombra and baptiste interact, they’ll mentioning Mauga. I don’t remember what they said exactly, but baptiste asks sombra how he’s(mauga) been, and sombra warns him by saying “he’s eager to meet you again, be careful”
An old voiceline, way before ramattra was released. I still remember how hyped i was when hearing their interactions, hoping that they will release mauga soon

Baptiste: the oldest child, the one that tries to follow the rules and be a good role model
Sombra: the middle child, trying to hold everyone and everything together, and an absolute prankster
Mauga: the youngest child, who's surprisingly also the biggest, and the one who likes to run off on his own

For those confused with the first interaction between Mauga and Sombra, hes referring to baptiste, and shes not giving his location up because she still cares. theres even an interaction between Baptiste and Sombra where he asks how Mauga is doing and she mentions hes looking for him, and to be careful.

That's pretty much his lore, operated on him when he was a normal sized guy then turned him into a bodybuilder with 2 hearts

I think above all the characters he literally has the best roasts, and the most carefree response is rarely triggered at all
He also has an interaction with Reaper during an ult shutdown where he says “Heard you the first time braddah.”
I'm all for the 5v5 switch but I'm very happy to see they keep carefully pumping out quality work in these interactions between Tanks for non-standard modes. Also, Mauga seems to be the definition of the Magnificent Bastard, they really delivered on his personality.
it always intrigues me when the junkers end up being hostile towards talon. you would think two bad guys would work together, but i have a feeling hog might still have a moral compass, and might not even be as bad as his reputation suggests. especially since he meshes well with ana, whom even though shes definitely a renegade shes still not the type to ally with bad people.
a "merciless killer" but with no real kill count besides words spoken about him. and with a soft side. and distaste of allying with talon. i honestly think hog is just a common thief like junkrat, but his reputation got blown out of proportions due to his lack of clarification.
