- A car that embodies so much personal Enzo Ferrari history: The story has it that the DINO 246 GTS has an engine that was co-developed by his son Alfredino in the 1950s.

Dino was a marque for mid-engined, rear-drive sports cars produced by Ferrari from 1968 to 1976. The Dino marque was meant to be used for cars with engines that had fewer than 12 cylinders, reserving the Ferrari name for the V-12 and flat 12 models. The Dino name was retired after that point, in favour of conventional Ferrari branding. The Dino brand was an attempt by Ferrari to produce a relatively low-cost sports car.
The Dino models used Ferrari racing naming designation of displacement and cylinder count with two digits for the size of the engine in deciliters and the third digit to represent the number of cylinders, i.e., 246 being a 2.4-litre 6-cylinder and 308 being a 3.0-litre 8-cylinder. Ferrari street models of the time used a three-digit representation of the displacement in cubic centimeters of one of the 12 cylinders, which would have been meaningless in a brand with differing numbers of cylinders.
The Dino 246 was the first Ferrari model produced in high numbers. It is lauded by many for its intrinsic driving qualities and groundbreaking design. In 2004, Sports Car International placed the car at number six on its list of Top Sports Cars of the 1970s. Motor Trend Classic placed the 206/246 at number seven in their list of the 10 "Greatest Ferraris of all time".
Utterly gorgeous....this design has never been bettered.....a sheer delight to watch.
One of my favourite Ferraris, beautiful car
Yes, mine too. It shares it's place with the Ferrari Daytona, but these cars really cannot be compared. Regards, Walter
Oddly it's not actually a Ferrari it's a Fiat
Meravigliosa!!
Has to be one of the most beautiful looking and sounding cars ever built.
Yes John! She is! The only car I woud buy if I had the money.
I was longing to hear the sound of my boy, and this vid did the trick. had to sell mine some years back, and I still mis him. The most beautiful, elegant, approachable, reliable, wonderful vehicle ever made. The apotheosis of automobile manufacture. It even has a big boot! If you have one, treasure the time you spend with it, and take care of it.
Mike Offit I think more of her as a pretty young woman with all those curves!
You should have kept it. Sometimes you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone. I’ve got a Yellow 92 348 Tb in beautiful condition. I don’t know how many times over the last 16 years I thought “ maybe I should sell it. It’s just sitting there in the garage taking up so much room that I always seem to need for other projects. Then when I drive it I invariably say to myself man I love this car, how the fuck could I even have thought of selling it. I know I’d really miss it.
Very well made. Your video really "takes you there". Unreserved compliments.
+deneil topan Thanks Deneil. Makes me feel good!
It’s exactly what you would expect a little Italian sports car to be,inside and out. Full instrumentation, stick on the floor, drilled spoke steering wheel, low, squat, curvy and fast
Yes!
My dad had one of these back in the 70's before he met my mother. A silver one. He loved that car.
Women and cars...
Did he get rid of the car because of her?
Nicely shot!
+yardelli Thanks!

Asides the 250 series Ferraris, the Dino Gt is my favourite. I feel so fortunate to have had some rides in one and at full song song. The sounds, and sensations of being in a Dino is a memory cherished. I would love to have a ride again in the Dino sometime. Many years ago I was also fortunate to have a good look around a Fiat Dino coupe, with vague notions of being able to buy it. Sadly it didn't happen.
Hey David, totally agree! The Dino is magic!
I love Ferrari and this is a beautiful car so dreamy possibly my favorite car from the 70s I love the Dino and I wish to own one some day.
You have good taste!
Yeeee........you need help.
It's just as alluring as when I saw my first Dino Spider, in 1972.
Fiat dino spider also existed at that time, but is rarely featured in videos here....
fantastic video and nice use/choice of music
Wow, thanks. This video gets me emotional in a way too everytime I watch it. Forza Ferrari! Regards, Walter
Great recording. But the truth is that Dino was never at the engineering level to design such a great engine. I understand the legend build by Enzo, but this is a Viktor János engine. A symphony.
Always a view and a thumbs up. Thank you.
Thanks Christo for supporting me and my work. I really appreciate that! Regards, Walter
this is "Beauty"
Life can be wonderful !

Magnificent piece of machinery, even the cows love it.
ENZO! UNIQUE MAN! UNIQUE CARS!
Awesome, let the car do the talking. Brilliant
A mindblowing beauty....with its own soul.
I agree, Miguel, she really has one!

From an era when Ferrari made tasteful cars.
beautiful
Coolest car ever made.
+imbluz After the Daytona it is the most intense car I have ever driven. This machine really has a soul! Regards, Walter
If I ever win the Lottery... first car I'll buy... :)
YES, me TOO!!
A car from another dimension with a different time.Amazing,I want it but it is as accessible as the moon in my case....
I want it too, BADLY! 💪
Veramente bella complimenti da Italiano ferrarista..
Grazie!
the design of the headlights has certainly inspired the front of fiat punto since 2006 lol and it's is the best rival of the jaguar type e :)
I feel like I'm having a love affair against the 308. This older Ferrari is too cute.
Thank you for not talking.
You're welcome Billy!
Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned
from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the
Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas
station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station fuel
pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in
the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems,
turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and
New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be
done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of
crime here, called emissions and smoke crime....:-(((
¡Viva Dino!
Tank.
Fantastica ho il kit scala 1/24 da costruire mi sapete dire che colore è (magari il codice) grazie!
I could be wrong but it seems to me Enzo was impartial to this car and that is why the Ferrari name does not appear on the dino Enzo was not in agreement with the mid engine configuration of the dino and refused his name upon it
That is quite right, Donald!
Enzo did not brand it as Ferrari because it did not have a 12 cylinder motor. The Dino motor was made to compete in a class against the 6 cylinder Porsche
i am only thinking... this would be so cheap to produce today. I dont know why any one doesnt...
Probably high costs of development in combination with a small target audience?
It exists, look for JH Classics.
judassson too many government regulations today
She is beautiful
YES!
best Ferrari after the Testarossa 57.
Back in the late 70es/early 80es you could pick up Dinos 206/246 at bargain prices.
Too bad I didn't believe in this car rocketing
to tons of money in a few years.
Incredible huh?
@@SuperCarClassicsTV Yeahhh...hard to believe ! It's also hard to believe how stupid
I have been :-) :-) given the fact I actually had the opportunity to buy a couple of coupè 246
at reasonable price.
The cars that get away from us I owned a detomaso Pantera for 10 years what power..... prior to that I had a chance to pick up a dino for $15,000 regret every minute....
Oempfh... Ouch, yes. The Dino being being my favorite car ever... I feel for you!
@@SuperCarClassicsTV remember Opportunity Knocks once sometimes twice no I'm looking at a Mondial 8 reachable price enjoy
this dude looks like JFK lol
Tell you what! I made a documentary about the assassination of JFK back in 2008 😂💪!
