How to fix P0053 Code: Heated O2 Sensor (H02S) Heater Resistance (Bank 1, Sensor 1)
An oxygen sensor has heating element that preheats the sensor during cold start conditions. This speeds up the process of getting the oxygen sensor up to operating temperature.
The computer (ECM/PCM) uses the upstream O2 Sensor-1 to modify the air/fuel mixture.
The downstream Sensor-2 works with Sensor-1 to monitor the catalytic converter.
