The LC500 is one of my dream car. It looks so slick, the interior design and build quality is excellent. You know it's the type of car that when someone is looking at it you know he is not judging you like "hum another guy that flex". Lexus owner at good guy like volvo one

@@Tritonal92 nah, I test drove a 2021 LC500 last week. And let me tell you the materials they us feel cheap and the tech is worse then a 2022 Corolla. It drives great but is not worth the price.

Great review overall! Quick suggestion, on the Jag, if you remove the fuse 15 from the fusebox on the left side of engine compartment, exhausts valves remain open at all times instead of just above 3500 rpms. It deactivates the active exhaust system.

I really love the F type. It's the only auto that I would consider even though the V6 had a manual a while back. Used ones were in the the high $40's not so long ago. These Jags are wild. So much character. Great review! That interior of the LC is nice! I didn't know about the patented convertible magic Lexus has

Both of these cars around 100k, I don’t think maintenance price would be a concern for the people that buy it.
Own a Jaguar F Type R and owned for years. No issues and change the oil myself yearly. Not a fortune by any means. $100 oil change/once Year.

Most buyers aren't spending over $100K at once.
used LC's can be bought at 70k-80k. I love the car and will be getting one in the future but i have to admit if a sports car or GT has a 100k price tag it has to have some form of performance
@@paladin3116 Only 2018 LC500s are 70-80k, and those ones have notoriously uncomfortable suspension.
Wait 7 years, a lot of these cars will be lightly driven and sold for a fraction of new. These cars will be used car bargains.

I think it’s cool that your video is Jaguar F Type R Convertible vs Lexus LC 500 convertible because that’s the exact question posed by Savagegeese. While Mark appreciated the Lexus more, Jack appreciated the fun and value Jaguar brought. It’s always interesting to see the dichotomy between the $100,000 Luxury oriented NA V8 Lexus LC 500 vs the $100,000 Performance oriented Turbo V6 Nissan GTR R35.
My question is: how does the new Turbo I6 BMW Z4 or V8 Ford Mustang GT Convertible compare for their prices?

In regards to wind buffeting: How is it that a convertible with essentially zero wind buffeting, is produced and designed by the same company that designed the 5th gen Toyota Supra, which you can't even comfortably lower the front windows on, without getting a rediculous amount of wind buffeting at certain speeds.

If the LC500 had performance it would best in class. Once the interior is refreshed with a touchscreen and no touchpad like the new RX and LX it would be perfect, hopefully for the 2023 model.
I'd take the LC500 every single day. Sounds better and interior just blows the Jag's away. Not a fan of the Jag after the refresh...

I can't be the only person who thought you 2 might have been the same person.
Nice video. My concern with the Jag is they are already difficult to get...and that is only going to get worse this winter as the UK (and the rest of Europe) struggles with very high NG prices. They may have to throttle their industry to help keep the price for heating at affordable levels. The question becomes....if that happens will you be able to get spare parts? The answer to that is likely...significant delays and parts shortages. The Lexus will NOT suffer that fate.
The LC interior will always be beautiful. So unique and classy yet futuristic.

It’s crazy to me how “light” the Jag is given its AWD versus the much heavier Lexus.
Jaguar is sport oriented whereas the Lexus is more luxury oriented. Therefore making it heavier

@@xBeeGee they’re both roadsters haha. More luxury or not, 650 pounds difference is not a small number. The LC must be dimensionally much larger. I guess it is a 2+2 versus the Jag being a 2 seater (hence your roadster comment, that does make sense). Still! 4500lbs. Cars have gotten heavy.

@@user59371why do y'all act like warranties don't exist.... just lease the Jag, drive the wheels off of it for a few years. Also many Jag F Types are fine for reliability. They are modern cars at the end of the day. If all the Lexus can say over the F type is reliability that's not worth it dawg.
There is no comparing the two, the LEXAS in the end (let's say a year or two into ownership ) will have proven itself by far the most reliable, most dependable , with the best resale of the 2, wealthy people who purchase Jags are often so comfortable such troubles are of no concern to them, TOYOTA does not build obsolescence into their vehicles, and they will last you forever TROUBLE FREE., Z try that with a JAG, STILL love the XKE OF days gone one of the beautifully designed cars ever made.

I bought a 2015 F type, and people always point and look. BMW and BENZ, are they exotic cars if they're seen everywhere? you don't see an f type every day.

They looks pretty similar..but it’s a NO brainer Lexus IS a winner..the reliability alone are on two different end of spectrums and if something happens to Jag it’s gonna be more expensive to fix. Also Lexus has better interior

I Love F-Type, but i hate jaguar with convertible roof, there are cars meant to be convertible, jaguar isn't one of them, so in this battle i think the LC 500 wins.
The LC is a different beast entirely. People don’t turn their heads when a Jag rolls by. The LC is a timeless vehicle.
