I adore those itty bitty planets. I came across one the other day that was SO tiny, it was listed as "0.00000 Earth Masses"! It only had around 0.1G or so.
@@Humanaut. This will sound kinda silly, but as it turns out, "moons" aren't a very descriptive term for space. The planet is composed of 15.8% Nickel, in this case it's probably Nickel(II) oxide, which is green. Brown spots are probably iron mixed with residual elements and the yellow spots must be sulfur mentioned in the table. I love this game. Going full on Sherlock-mode on these little things is so much fun. I'm not even an chemist, I looked up all the elements :D
I was actually surprised how many stars in some nebulae are unexplored. I found like 40 unexplored systems in a nebula around 50 jumps from Colonia (50 jumps with 67 LY jump range)
There’s untouched and unexplored systems that are just 100 light years from colonia, at least that’s how it still is on Xbox. There’s just such a high star density in some areas that I doubt anyone will ever go thru all of it
I might be a little out there, and definitely really late, but that "moss" might possibly be lichens! Slowly breaking down the rocky surface of the planet into nutrient-rich topsoil, preparing the surface for more complex life. Although of course there weren't any visible large bodies of water, nor do I know if there's an atmosphere... but I can dream, no?
No to oceans. Technically yes to trees: there ARE forests like brain-tree forests, but they're very alien and not what you're probably thinking. Ocean worlds and Earth-like worlds are in the game, but they are not currently land-able.
Looking for some help. I've been out exploring and now I'm heading back to the bubble. But I'm bored and looking for something of interest. Current location is S171 14 3 (Elise Shore Nebula), pretty cool here lots of BIG white stars here. Any suggestions, my jump range is 40+
The planet could be green if it's covered in chromiumoxide (which is pretty green in a similar shade) :) I'm not an expert on ED Planet generation, but I am a chemistry student and space enthusiast so...
I don't think Chris Roberts likes Space, I think he likes Wookies, and Space Fighter ships, and lasers and cool looking clothes and big name hollywood actors. You can tell by playing his game that he doesn't really care about space. Who can get immersed in a verse with humanoid aliens that speak english and wear shorts?
You don't need to be this scared of unsafe temperatures... As you figured out, too, almost all worlds have unsafe temperatures, either in - or +, and your suit battery keeps you safe. Just watch the battery level and pop another one when necessary.

@@jamespfp I'm content with having something discovered or first footfall, but that is my positive bias towards the game showing. I've never seen such a green world. I'm currently camped out in Elysian Shores charting every star in a 500 cubic light year space.

There are several small moons in the SOL system that are size 0.0000 with gravity of 0.000
Another small moon in DAHAN system, small red moon 0.0000 gravity 0.03

I was just watching your video about exploration without engineering! really enjoying this current series thingy

I mean it’s 400 billion stars. I’m sure there are a couple here and there unexplored lol
So many stars, so little humans with patience to explore.
The concept of Moss that grows in a vacuum sounds interesting.
That green might be some sort of oxidized copper in the soil. Still, that's a really neat color of planet.
Really loving this series!

Is there a single planet in this game that has TREES ?

new sub here, love your presentation style....(and green planets too!)
Looks more like mould than moss - like a month old loaf of bread.
Another entertaining vídeo before i get to work. Thanks
Thanks for playing odyssey. It's refreshing having a creator enjoying the beauty in this game.
omg Seppy goose findin rocksla killed me
I'm ready for NMS content lets gooo
10:42 Unsafe temperature, mossy but a breathable atmosphere?
This series is a great way to drain my data in the forest
That green planet might have been covered in copper oxide
Loving the shit out of this series
It needs to be named Moss Eisley
Screw it
Im playing elite again

amazing nebula chap .great vid . hope you get your first discovery tab soon .. o7 fly safe that planet or rock was a very odd shape lolol
First one I found, I saved as Spango.
green world might just be covered in Serpentine subgroup rock such as Peridotite and the like
thats just mossum mr geist
Wow. Different colored rocks.
That moss world looks like Minmus from KSP, better check the ground taste :)
seppy goose have you found rocksla yet?
The green planets are new to Odyssey patch 6/Odyssey alpha
Which voice pack is that? or is that a post edit? Cause that is fantastic
Post edit. Will try to Make it a download voice attack package
ay lets go new spatula
How are you able to walk on plantes
How has your recovery from the surgery been going Geist?

How did he get his shield percentage there?
That's a newer update.
Fun fact, the moon that hosts Farstrider Inc looks like Mossworld now too! I think it's an Update 6 thing, but damn if it ain't cool, right?
Do you mean Farseer?
moss eisley
Urgh, making me want to reinstall and go back into the deep.
Your ship has FTL drive but doesn’t have auto tint to keep near stars from blinding the pilot? Lol ; )
sappy goose have you found rocksla yet
Copper + Oxygen = green/teal
Who is the announcer girl?
why are you using this ship?
What is going on with the voice?

They can name it whatever they want. In the end its just planets with different colors. Lack of content is way above everything else in this game.
Are you suggesting tinted rocks isn't content?
No. Tinted rock is an object. The content is what gameplay does this particular object offer.
