    I've never seen such a green world. I'm currently camped out in Elysian Shores charting every star in a 500 cubic light year space.

    I adore those itty bitty planets. I came across one the other day that was SO tiny, it was listed as "0.00000 Earth Masses"! It only had around 0.1G or so.

    • @MMadous
      @MMadous 3 года назад +2

      @@Humanaut. This will sound kinda silly, but as it turns out, "moons" aren't a very descriptive term for space. Almost everything is orbiting something else in some fashion, star or otherwise, so it's incredibly difficult to tell. Elite does not differentiate between planets and moons either, they are all just celestial bodies of varying size.

    • @Humanaut.
      @Humanaut. 3 года назад +1

      @@MMadous Moon = "natural satellite" (formal).
      A natural satellite is very distinct from a planet as it does not orbit around a star.

    The planet is composed of 15.8% Nickel, in this case it's probably Nickel(II) oxide, which is green. Brown spots are probably iron mixed with residual elements and the yellow spots must be sulfur mentioned in the table.
    I love this game. Going full on Sherlock-mode on these little things is so much fun.
    I'm not even an chemist, I looked up all the elements :D

      There’s untouched and unexplored systems that are just 100 light years from colonia, at least that’s how it still is on Xbox. There’s just such a high star density in some areas that I doubt anyone will ever go thru all of it

    I might be a little out there, and definitely really late, but that "moss" might possibly be lichens! Slowly breaking down the rocky surface of the planet into nutrient-rich topsoil, preparing the surface for more complex life.
    Although of course there weren't any visible large bodies of water, nor do I know if there's an atmosphere... but I can dream, no?

    Or oceans you can get submerged into ?

    • @SepulcherGeist
      @SepulcherGeist  3 года назад +3

      No to oceans. Technically yes to trees: there ARE forests like brain-tree forests, but they're very alien and not what you're probably thinking. Ocean worlds and Earth-like worlds are in the game, but they are not currently land-able.

    5:10 -- RE: "I don't see this as being very shallow" -- And yet, it is. Eye Candy is as shallow as it is Superficial, SG. ED is not even in the same ballpark as SC in that regard, because at the very heart of it, all "aspects" of the game which seem compelling are Facades covering up a rotten, broken, or "never did work right" core.

      Idk but a fully explorable galaxy with carefully crafted simulation that spawns realistic star systems seems pretty deep to me and doesn't fail to amaze me after 200 hours.

    • @jamespfp
      @jamespfp 3 года назад +1

      @@assassin3g I've logged over 2000 hours. It is Superficially fascinating, the same as the fraction of that galaxy that has been considered "explored" is tiny.
      I did discover a system or two and even take the time to map everything.... but do I get to NAME any of it? *Big Fat Nope.*

    • @assassin3g
      @assassin3g 3 года назад

      @@jamespfp I'm content with having something discovered or first footfall, but that is my positive bias towards the game showing. It is ultimately meaningless to explore except the joy you get from it, but I feel like there is no way that humanity would have a need or means to colonize the whole galaxy after only 1000 years of interstellar travel. One thing I would love to be in the game is a small base buidling system so you can call a place a home with a few facilities maybe.
