Good thoughts, XGT is nice for sure but the price tag is crazy... I've been loving the Metabo HPT 36v line that I went for instead when I realized Makita priced me out of the XGT lineup. Orbital mode makes a big difference on the recip saw and it's great to get that feature on the Metabo for half the price.
@@UltimateToolReviews metabo hpt is good but they don't have the amount of tools makita puts out even at a slow pace. metabo has amazing feeling overmolds though
I can’t wait to upgrade to the gen 2 saw. I do find it really odd that the palm tree fibers got caught up. I have use exclusively recip saws to trim and cut my palm trees for a decade and never had any issues. Very curious indeed. Glad it wasn’t a serious issue.
@@UltimateToolReviews yeah that Metabo looks like a beast. I contemplated getting it, but decided to hold off when I saw the video tools and stuff did. Waiting on a deal as well!
@Rudy is here! I own a junk removal company and we do alot of demo work, its definitely worth having a high end recip saw, but the gen 2 is $300ish tool only and thats where I draw the line, lol.
@@UltimateToolReviews Toolsplus is currently running a deal for the gen 2 kit with two additional free 4.0ah batteries for $499! Not a discount on the kit price, but by the time you factor in the price of 3 batteries plus a charger over the bare tool cost... its a pretty solid deal.
Tell me how i got the 40v impact and hammer driver kit with 2x 2.5ah batteries at home depot for $235 dollars. I though is was well worth it just for the batteries and a great starter kit ! And i just ordered the xgt circular saw kit just for the aws because their 36v aws version is the exacts same price (tool only) as it 40v kit for $330 i dont think i wouldve jumped on if i had to pay full price
Nice find! Although I have a feeling that because so many HDs near me have 20-30 of these kits in stock at retail price still ($450) I think as we near the end of the year these will clearance out for $100-200 when the new gen hits.

I hear ya, thats why I went nearly 1.5 years until I bought my 2nd XGT tool. The sales are finally here.

I am just waiting for a deal on the gen 2, however I did pickup the Metabo HPT 36v saw and it does beat the XGT gen 1 (Gen 2 does beat the Metabo).

They have the battery promotion still going on and you can return the gift battery if you dont want it to get that low price.
