the mattel creations release anxiety is so real 😭. more made to move ken bodies would be cool :) also i think it would be so cool if they sold just the made to move bodies on their website. i would pay $10-$12 just for a body with no head and no clothes for body swaps 😆 then they could also always have the whole made to move range of skin tones and body types available without having to buy different dolls to de-head for their bodies 🤣 loved the video 🩷

Integrity toys has only bodies. It would be great if Mattel hopped on that bandwagon! I totally agree with you on purchasing just the MTM bodies.
I agree. There are many doll companies in Japan that sell just the bodies for doll customization. There's no reason Mattel can't do the same. Plus it saves plastic waste from filling landfills and the ocean when they stop making people buy pointless extras no one wants.

So I wasn't actually going to get any of the dia de muertos dolls, until I found the regular Barbie at Barnes and Noble, I ended up stepping away from her for a second and went back to her and she was gone but that's because my husband took her to the register and bought her for me
It really drives me crazy that they use play line accessories and jewelry on a COLLECTOR doll. The Teresa reproduction should have the face mold from the 90s. Just looking at her doesn’t say Teresa to me. I am glad summer is over too!! It’s been way too hot this year for me. I’ve had enough lol! I’m excited for Mariah Carey but I am fearing she will be hard to get.
I think it would’ve been cool if they gave the 90s Teresa sculpt a closed mouth version for this doll

Designing dolls for adult collectors is very different from doing it for the play line dolls. While it’s nice to keep the prices reasonable, Mattel has been scrimping on the materials used for the collector lines. Celia Cruz is wearing some netting and the edges are unfinished. That means they fray easily. Honestly, they’re making too many dolls and cutting too many corners…. Now, the Disney ILY Christmas doll package has both quality dolls with real eyes and nice clothing. Mattel has made a killing with all the dolls and merch that goes along with the movie. They should be over the moon happy with the success and think about giving a bit back to those who have loved Barbie for decades. Of course, it’s all about profits. But, I am not purchasing many of the newer dolls because the clothing is so disappointing and there’s too many to choose from. Just my take on things…. Same here. I don’t purchase the new collector dolls cause they just disappoint me. The fabric is so thin and cheap! I hate how the jewerly is play line. It used to be real chains and stones now it’s all plastic.

In regards to the Made-to-Move line, I wish Mattel had incorporated MtM Kens to the collection. Like what, only the Barbies can do yoga? lol

Ooh, a new athletic made to move body. I'll have to get that one. I'm also interested in Ken couture and Easter dolls. I was able to get the Roots doll in person since I was in Canada when it dropped. They had her on sign out front and a few dolls were high up on display, but the ones for purchase were only available behind the counter at checkout. I also splurged on one of their overpriced Barbie shirts.

The “Classique” line of dolls and fashions was a short lived series that highlighted in-house Mattel Barbie designers in the 90s. Again, quality fashions & details aimed at the adult collector. So could be something of a reboot? 🤓

Love your news-focused videos! I also hate the humid weather and am glad Fall is here. I spent so much on the movie dolls this year that I have to cut back, BUT I must get the new 12 Days of Xmas set with the vintage AA face sculpt! I also want the Dia de Muertos pink exclusive, the Stevie Nicks, Sugar’s Daddy and Celia Cruz. Finally, I both appreciated and cracked up at your advising us to lower our expectations on the BFMC Silkstone reboot. My expectations were sky-high because I missed the prior BFMC dolls, but I probably shouldn’t expect that same level of quality, lol…😏

Can confirm to you the Disney Xmas ILY dolls are rereleases. The Stitch, the Aladdin, and the Mickey Mouse dolls. That being said, Stitch and Mickey Mouse were done by Jakks Pacific, which means they did not have inset eyes. So you're getting a change there.

Barbie Clasique collection is return of 90´s collection, where different Mattel designers designed glamorous dolls, the first doll in new collection is designed by Suim Noh, she has Model Muse body, Claudette facial sculpt, long blonde hair and gown in hot pink and orange. Ken Couture collection has blonde Tate Ken with Made to Move body in blue suit.

I think the reason collecting has become so stressful is because, like the new Steven Nicks doll , I did get one but the limit is 10 dolls. if your a collector, your not going to want or buy 10 dolls, if your a scalper of course you want 10 or if there are 2 members in the house 20 dolls, to make them up and charge 3 times the original price, IU feel Mattel needs to reduce the limit at the most 5 dolls per member.

I love that they are releasing new MTM dolls! I wish they had more tall MTM! My mini is the Barbie Careers farmer w/ chicken doll and trying to find her exact skin tone in a tall MTM is much harder than I first thought 🤦♀️think I’ll bite the bullet and order the volleyball Millie to try and swap with 🙏🤞

The Teresa doll in the yellow dress is very nice she is similar to a Belle but maybe a body swap can give her a newer design. The Laverne Cox Barbie looks like the salsa dancer. The teenage Courtney model is also a good replacement for Teresas new face sculpt.

The classic Teresa face mold (in particular the one used 2000s dolls, like the Fashion Fever Line) is one of my favorites! I really don't like the original Teresa/hispanic face mold, so I am glad they retired that one. But I actually really love the anniversary doll and I love the face they used. I feel like these anniversary dolls have been more of a modern representation of the classic Barbie friends instead of a copy, so I'm here for it :)
I also like the modern twist! I guess it’s just nostalgia of which I can’t let go 😅 Ordered her as soon as she popped up!
Love the Brooklyn Made-To-Move. The Millie is of course super boring, she would only be a body donor. The other one with the Curvy body is nice, but I hope she has at least a slightly different skintone from other Curvy Made-To-Move dolls we have. Darker, lighter, less red, more red, something to set it apart. I also hope that we get additional dolls in this assortment with either Tall or Petite proportions. I also want to see the Superhero/Laverne Cox proportions used in a fully Made-To-Move articulation for this line or the Looks line.
I’m also disappointed with some of the finishing details of the Celia Cruz doll. I would get her on sale for sure.
Roots Barbie is cool. I’m getting her. I love everything about her. I do like that the Curvy proportion opens up a lot of clothing sharing options with various Ken dolls and fashions.
I don’t really collect the Día de los Muertos line. I think they’re lovely, but they’re too challenging to collect for my level of interest in the line. I do enjoy the look, but I don’t really enjoy the ModelMuse body generally speaking. I especially don’t like the stiff Ken body they use for the male dolls. But they absolutely will be iconic dolls future collectors will go nuts over.
ILY Forever is cute, but I don’t collect the line, and I don’t collect a lot of Christmas-themed stuff in general. I do like the shirt the boy doll is wearing and the red long-sleeved sweater though.
Zero interest in the “Book of Joy”. Easy pass.
30th Anniversary Teresa is cool, and I will be getting her, but just like with Christie, I wish they had used one of the face sculpts that Teresa has historically used. Either the 1983 Spanish Barbie face, the Steffie face, or the 1992 Rollerblade Teresa face would have been appreciated.
I will not purchase any Harry Potter-themed anything going forward, because of J.K. Rowling’s transphobia. Anything that benefits that woman financially is just not an option.
I liked the Barbie advent calendar doll from last year. It is one of the few Christmas-themed items I’ve collected, and I really like it. I’ll certainly look at the new one from this year and see what it looks like before I consider getting it.
Mariah Carey doll I might get to go with my Gloria Estefan and Tina Turner dolls.
That Gemstone Fantasy doll does not look cute to me. I have the Rose Quartz doll, and she’s still in the box because the light up feature and display of the box is too cute as it is. I debox most of my dolls, but she’s an exception.
Excited to see Ken couture dolls, but I hope they’re Made-To-Move. If they’re MaleMuse, I’m going to skip them, in all likelihood.
No interest in Christmas angels or Easter dolls, generally speaking. The doll would have to have some kind of angle or aesthetic that puts it more in my collecting focus.
Not necessarily into the BFMC, though I have some of them. I might get some of them if they have interesting looks that set them apart from the ones I have. I kind of hope they don't go back to either of the previous body proportions of the previous line. The 1991 Shani proportions of the dolls of most of the years of that line just aren't very sharing-friendly with other dolls. The oddly smaller, almost Francie-like proportions of the articulated BFMC is also challenging for clothes sharing. I think they should either use the original 1959-1999 Barbie proportions, or the current proportions of the Made-To-Move and other playline and collector dolls. I just want to be able to use the clothes for dolls other than Silkstones, or dress the Silkstones in clothing made for other dolls, and that's been a challenge in the past.
Well at least you won’t be broke like me by the end of this year 😅 haha

Love the new Dia de Muertos in pink dress but this year she’s $70!!! So probably skipping that one BUT will definitely set my alarm for the special edition because I immediately fell in love when I saw her pics ❤ even tho she’s $100 😢

every time the Barbie made to move lines always include a curvy one, every now and then (but rarely) a tall one but NEVER a petite 😒 and in general the petite MTMs exist in very few skintones, some of which are very expensive as they are signature. not to mention the fact that the "one size fits most" fashion packs NEVER fit petite Barbie dolls.
Someone tell Mattel that not only curvy dolls are a symbol of inclusiveness.

I'm not saying they should make the same clothes in different sizes, but at least more adjustable clothes, or whatever

For me Pink Barbie Dia de muertos doll is the doll of my dreams. Just because she's pink and deadly themed. I think she looks like a bride. Don't know why but this dress just looks like a wedding dress to me. Hope to get her to match my 2021 Ken Dia de muertos doll. He looks so different from all of my other dolls and I felt as if he is alone or even lonely. Luckily he won't be anymore.

The Anniversary Teresa doll actually uses Lina face sculp (looks #1 & #19) but in my head canon Neysa is the new Teresa 😅😅
Neysa does seem to be the more recent version of Teresa, but I am glad they didn't use that sculpt on the collector doll because she would probably have had wonky eyes.

I like the anniversary Teresa's face. Teresa was always my favourite as a kid: if a doll line had Teresa, I usually wanted her because I preferred her colours. For example, I had Cut and Style Teresa and I loved her neon yellow dress. And brown hair was more exciting for me. I only started liking pink later.
Speaking of doll faces, would you be interested in talking about Barbie face molds in some form sometimes? I'd love to know more about them and which ones you like etc. You sometimes comment if you like some mold in videos but I'd be interested hearing about them in more organized form.

Inam ashed as a Mexicana mixed woman of that pink Dia de los muertos barbie. My pov. 2022 Dia de los muertos barbie and Ken were the most accurate of true dress of the Dia de los muertos. Forgive but Mexican and Spaniards are not the same fr. Bonito Santos w all due respect je was so not trie to the dress of real Dia de los muertos. He madaor to the tee but for me having 2022 Dia de los muertos was true accurate dress of what we celebrate. I am half Mexican Navajo and Italian. But Dia de los muertos is a big deal to me and im thankful for my 2022 Dia dolls

I wonder if we could get an Asian advent calendar Barbie for 2024. Or a Ken, but with better style than Vintage Ken. I like the style of the bmfc Kens more. I think they fit the vintage Barbie aesthetic better than the original Ken. Original Ken looks like a little boy.
I wish Mattel still made nice clothes for Barbie. Two decent fashion outfits a year is really sad. Especially if you only like one of the fashion packs. 🥲 They should do what Licca Castle does and release three new fashions each month. 😉
