0:45 I like to imagine that Palpatine is actually concerned here, seeing as you know, it’s 2003 Grievous.
Very nice touch
Palpatine would still completely stomp 2003 greivous
Also the fact that Grievous doesn’t know Palpatine is Sidious.
@@benderthepirate true
@@johnc5452 i’m pretty sure he’s afraid Grievous might straight up kill Anakin
1:13
The fact that you added the detail of Grievous’s injury from when Mace Windu crushed his body is fucking beautiful
You think that's why Kenobi was able to rip his chest plate open?
@@WTFisTingispingis possibly
Seems odd that he wouldn't have repaired it
@@Veyron722skyhook I might be completely wrong, but I would assume these last few key events leading up to the end of the war probably took place in a short period of time. Since they also killed Dooku, Grievous probably became the de facto leader of the CIS so he was probably busier than ever. So maybe he simply didn't have time to get repaired, and being an advanced cyborg would probably mean long/complex repairs at the facility he was created/maintained in.
I love how Grievous just has this "Frick my life" face the whole time.
If you watch 2003 clone wars you can see Obi Wan making a depressed face all the time
To be fair he just got his lungs crushed earlier.
In Legends, he DID have an operation making him constantly pissed off.
*grievous a head taller than him*
anakin: you're shorter than i expected
Maybe Anakin was saying it sarcastically 🤗
Well, all the jedi left alive after meeting with him were too scared and described him as big killing machine, so no wonder Anakin said that
With a sloped back
@@sobek6735 that kyphosis makes him shorter for sure
Actually, Grievous is tall as hell. He's 7'1 (2,16 Meters). He looks more shorter because he walks in that more curved way, it's more confortable to him.
+1 for the most polite droid ever
0:38- 0:46 the timestampt
I don't like your PFP
@@MrBlack75922 i dont like your complains

@@Tocer5 not so
I like that u kept the damage Mace dealt to him. Though I would imagine he would have had it repaired immediately to keep up appearances.
Be wouldn't have been able to repair it in time
I thought of that too, but then I decided that he wouldn't have had enough time & he was coughing too hard in this clip, so I decided to keep his chestplate damaged
@@DogeAnimations its a great detail, good call. If this were the movie it could be shown fixed later. Although in live-action it could have been cool to see a damaged Grievous walking around a bit longer.
Droid : *Scoots past Anakin and Kenobi* “ ‘Scuse me”
Droid: hands lightsabers to Grievous: “You’re welcome.”
MY GUY OVER HERE BEING POLITE AS HE CAN
but he still didn't get a thank you from greivous rip
remember the droids are programed to think they are the good guys. ofcaurse they are going to be polite.
Nah that droid was passive aggressive as fuck
@@yeahey5947 you would be too if you didn't get any thanks
@@aamirrazak3467 Watch the Auralnauts Saga!
1:13- I love how Greivous' chest-plate is a little bent in the center, showing physical evidence of when Windu Force-crushed it. Granted, I understand why this connection to the 2003-05 Clone Wars wasn't made in the films but it still would have been a nice detail. It would also have explained why the droid general appeared so much weaker and had that asthmatic cough.
It was made but unless you saw the cartoon you wouldn't know about it.
@@delta2372 When I was growing up, pretty much everyone who saw Revenge of the Sith had seen the Clone Wars micro-series by then. My friends and I were excited to see that Grievous would be in the film.
@@Justmyhandle same dude, to bad the lame cgi show made grevious a moustache twerking bafoon who isn't intimidating.
@@delta2372 While I do much prefer his original micro-series portrayal, I never hated TCW Grievous. Yes, his tactics aren't as smart. He's not as intimidating, frequently retreating from fights he could plausibly win or just making stupid mistakes (even when accounting for arrogance) that leave him looking incompetent at best and a buffoon at worst.
And yes, he gets captured by Gungans (No, I don't care that they're skilled warriors and Jar Jar just made them look bad, the original Grievous would have known better than to underestimate them to such a reckless degree). But those are all writing issues. Overall, his TCW counterpart still had his fair share of cool moments throughout the series.
The episode at his home was particularly epic. It was awesome seeing him duel Obi-Wan, Kit Fisto, Ahsoka, and Ventress among others. His fights were well animated even if his speed & power were significantly nerfed, and I liked his look which adapted elements from RotS (my personal favorite design of the three, even if the CGI's dated).
I also preferred Matthew Wood's voicework for him over John DiMaggio (not that DiMaggio did a bad job by any means, I liked him too; I simply found Matthew's deeper, more guttural voice more impacting and haunting). As for him being nerfed in combat, honestly, I can sympathize a lot with the animators for what they had to work with.
As fans, we're pretty spoiled these days. Realistically, there was just no way to translate the original Grievous' lightning-quick movements into 3D. It would have most likely looked goofy and lost the stylization of Tartakovsky's animation (which, lest we forget, took obvious influence from the similarly fast-paced Samurai Jack). It came down to expectations.
Fans saw a badass Jedi killer, and most wanted to see more of the same. To some extent though, a 3D Grievous was going to have to be slowed down as he was animated alongside the other characters who themselves moved with inhuman speed compared to their live-action counterparts. There had to be some compromises for practicality's sake.
If Grievous had his Clone Wars speed, he'd have been running/jumping/flipping/spinning circles around everyone to the point of looking like nobody could even challenge him, thereby killing most of the suspense. Likewise, if everyone had been moving at similar speed, then every lightsaber duel would have been more expensive + time consuming to animate.
Point being, if I personally had to choose between a slower, weaker Grievous in an otherwise very enjoyable show that expanded more on Star Wars characters & lore vs. a 100% faithfully represented Grievous that ate up the show's budget, I'd rather settle for the former. You're welcome to disagree, of course. That's just my POV.
Fun fact: the „You shorter than I expected“ line was because grievous in 2003 Clone Wars was very tall.
Thanks, G.
not true at all. 2003 clone wars had no input from george lucas, hence why grievous acts completely differently in the film
@@sub-zero5433 Watch "Star Wars Episode III: Creating General Grievous Webisode"
The main task when creating Grievous was to make something that is scary and that is EXACTLY what they went for in Clone Wars. They tried to make him a horror figure. The reason that he is different in the movie is because George changed his mind. And that Clone Wars had no input from George is wrong. First George had little to do with it but then they won an Emmy and George really liked it. He gave them more time for the Episodes and made them do the events right before Revenge of the Sith in season 3.
I love that he's not rude to his droid crew, he's just in a bit of a mood after have his chest crushed.
Grievious goes around collecting people’s height to add to his own from now on. He’s very self conscious.
Lol
“Your inches will make a fine addition..."
I imagine Grievous tearing Jedi's body parts off and adding them to himself

1:13 a little rememberance in grivous chest from mace windu, Doge animation. Excellent. Could you do Grievous Death/So Uncivilized scene in 2003 Clone Wars Artstyle? Please? 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
lol, probably will become full movie 😂
Love that Doge animated added that detail.
nice detail that his chest has been crushed by mace window
_I LOVE THE PERFECT NIT-DETAIL IN THE CHEST_
Are you secretly remaking Revenge of the Sith in 2003 style...? 👀
Maybe.
Obi wan: possibly
This
That would be awesome but im not sure
1:13 Keeping the crushed chest that mace gave grievous? Nice touch.
My man is just working their way through episode 3 to give us an entire 2003 art style version
I like the fact that his chest is still recked from Windu crushing it, nice attention to detail.
Me seeing an animator coming back:Hello there
-General Kenobi!
This is gold. The animation is just perfect.👌
This feels like a bunch of roommates talking mild trash to eachother when they get off of work lmao
I like how you made his chest damaged from when Mace Windu force smashed it
Ahhh, Doge animations! We've been waiting for you! Your animation is another amazing piece to your collection!
The way that Grievous just coughs in Anakin's face... 😂
Also the FNAF reference on the ship cameras, TOO GOOD!!!!
Love the detail of his chest plate still being injured.
This video was a fine addition to my collection of Doge Animation’s 2003 CW videos
I have no words...this is amazing!!! NO ONE messes with the Kaleesh general!
Holy shit, the dialogue works better in the context of a cartoon
That amazing detail of Grievous with the crushed chest because of Windu earlier before the events of ROTS
Yee I just noticed it, shouldn’t his chest place be green?
@@75JUNAKI not in 2003 style
Bro, "Freddy Fazbears pizza" on the control panel got me xD

Matthew Wood must've had the time of his life voicing Grievous.
You should have used the design of Grievous' crushed chest from the Mace Windu scene. It would be much more accurate. Also, the colors you used for Grievous are from Vol 1 CW. Vol 2 Grievous (Kidnapping of Palpatine scenes) was more yellowish. Other than that, it's very nice you make these.
this channel is so underrated
There's something so funny about the cut to the shot of Grievous looking down at the camera as he says 'older'
Oh damn he actually still has the crushed chest
I love you included the damaged chest.
Ooo love the detail of grevious’s chest being broken after challenging windu
This deserves a lot more views, what a shame
Do the rest of the scene where he escapes like this that is my wish i always wanted that fight scene in this animation style pleaaaaaaaaaaaaase do it

also i always loved the polite droid in this scene
I like how the venators are just frikin Doritos
And a fine addition they were.

I love the detail on the chest
this is so well made
Personally I think it would be a nice idea to give General Grievous his green chest plate (what’s it called?), his grey one broken (thank’s to Mace Windu) and replaced with a green glass case (what’s it called?).
0:45 this can be a nft if possible
God, I don't know why, but Grievous in his 2003 version is so much more intimidating than the movie version of him.
Anakin with that hair and that grin? Yes please!
Mace Windu did him dirty, sounding like a 80 year smoker.
