Heh I put vestal in rank 1 and with her base class/melee skill upgraded she gets armor every time she hits plus grants power to rank 2, which can be a hard hitter. Heh I might actually try this again, the only problem I had was lack of skills to use or heals, but I was surprised to see that it could work with more support, I don’t have all her skills yet either.

Id love a beginners candle spending guide, like what are the highest priority unlocks and upgrades that new players will want to focus on when starting out
For optimal play I would start with unlock each character, unlock 1 pet, then get some of the road stuff especially the loot upon arriving at a hoarder. Then items as you receive the items when you unlock them so that will help you continue to have better runs. I also bought all the stuff that reduced memory cost but that was me thinking long term
I think scourge flag is best path only because of what deathless and sepsis do. He basically can just be a slightly worse Plague Doctor that can also be on a team with plague doctor, at which point both get better. Just being able to have a button on a frontline character that adds an entire bar’s worth of health to your team in a single action is insane insurance, and mastered sepsis on combo can be an easy win against most bosses (basically doubles the enemy’s blight in exchange for 1 combo token)
Thank you, sometimes the descriptions are less then clear so this really helps. Still wish they would give you bounty hunter like the rest of the characters. I've been playing since early access started and I've still never seen him.
With the return of Flagellant as a Blight focused character, I do hope Crusader comes back as a Burn-focused of sorts character. We only have Runaway for consistent Burn damage and I do want to experiment with a rainbow of DoT 🤣
Well there's always the Plague Doctor-Runaway tag team if you wanna go full Vietnam on the poor fuckers. Mastered Firestarter + mastered Magnesium Rain, because putting 6 burn on the entire enemy team on turn 1 isn't ridiculous at all. Then add in the sillyness you can get up to with the right trinkets or the Librarian trophy.
I have to recommend Warlock Occ in the front. At least while on the round. Anamesis applying 2(3) bleed on four potential targets every turn after the second turn is amazing. Especially if you use Runaway and apply firestarter to him. Then its 2(3) bleed as well as 2(3) burn to four targets every turn. It stacks up faster than you'd think. You can return him to the back when you are nuking bosses with Burning stars.
Another hilarious combo for that would be to use Firestarter to supercharge the PD's Magnesium Rain. Do it in the Tangle for the full Vietnam cosplay. 😅
If your main recommendation is to spam firefly in the back and use the smoke/cauterize supports, Orphan >>>>>> Arsonist. It's way easier to find burn piercing over burn increases, and giving her some move resist buffs can help you maximize the 7x3 burn
@@ShuffleFM for Arsonist her niche would be frontline though where you start in position 1 with dragonfly then spam searing strike? That would be the strongest way to use her frontline burn skills.
Shout outs to defender. I didn't agree with every take in this video, but man do people really undervalue how good defender is, especially with the leviathan reworks
I am silently screaming about how I forgot I could use defender with my 100% move resist Sergent(?) to steal undertows targeting. Buy those move resist drums if the Inn has them, dear god.
Default flag is much more comfortable to play, because u can run it just on punish-rain-exang-reclaim. I just lost so many rounds trying to keep him at safe hp with lashes or regen to get this 1 extra blight when i could just use punish+exang till everyone is dead. And u can be +- support flag on wanderer and not lose all blight damage so its not worth it at all
I played a good amount of DD1, and just won my first run in DD2 (like, the first run I tried on Denial). Early shambler too, that was a tense one. Bolster was definitely the MVP first mastery point. And Grave Robber was doing some real work with Poison Darts. I'm watching this after the fact, but if I were a newer player, listening to this would be a godsend. Keep it up, and thank you.

I had a lot of success with plague doctor as surgeon in rank 3. I mean, dude gets more healing done, has an amazing melee strike against enemies in rank 1/2 that bleeds and still has other great support abilities plus can still hit enemy backline with debuffs if needed.
Alchemist because you have to take a trophy to the mountain and alchemist unlocks beating any of the trophy bosses, the General, the Librarian and whatever that Demented Baby is called all really want damage that can go on any rank. The surgeon path is just absolutely dominant against the Denial Brain where you don't even need the trophy at all or the Ambition Whatever That's Supposed To Be. The issue for chapter 4 is making sure you can get a trophy off of that Fish Head thing. Although I have been able to take a trophy off of the Demented Baby thing while running Surgeon, Alchemist is just a more comfortable build if you don't want to play around which trophy fight you take.
Tempest is the leper I did act 4 on (blind, I had no Idea what I had gotten myself into, but still survived). You say he can tank even in tempest and I agree. Spoilers for act 4 boss. First phase kept getting calibrating censer triggered and he took a raw crit (no block but no attack or combo either) and still wasn't at death's door. That boss is so funny by the way. He got sent to the back at the end of a round and was back in front by the end of the next.

Starting roster was great, beat 1st boss right away (slight mistake entering a cosmic battle & dyin LOL) with just that one awkard death then had an straighforward run through miniboss (sleeping giant-which if i had known how to face it I wouldve made it through to Lung final boss with everyone) but then ofc i had only half a squad now half full of random heros/guys I unlocked in the inn that didnt fit with the comp (i never used but want to buy for some reason lol) & died. That mustve been a fluke run cuz then i hit a wall, again n again. This was due to me realizing a few things. The comp for the lung needs to be pretty specific right? so I threw together something that sounded good on paper vesel-cultist-highwayman-helion (highwayman is my only fully unlocked guy other than graverobber & helion r halfway after those 12h)??? looked/felt decently good... but then i reached the very end & got destroyed by sleeping giant boss, so I dont even know if the comp woulve worked v.s lungs. .....so that being said, wat is the best comp for that boss AND with that comp, wat miniboss is the easiest for them too (& is it worth it to wait until the end to fight em?) n i am askin in terms of fully unlocked guys ofc!!
on that note, is it fine to use THAT best comp(s) as a way to grind their unlockables out (hero shrines n loadouts) OR is it best to grind with a different comp? ...two more random questions then im done i swear.... (1) trinkets that say "increase healing given by x%" , does that refer to the heals that that character GIVES OUT to everyone or something else? the wording is weird haha (2) u mention here that alchemist plague doctor has LESS HEALTH if he is NOT in 4th position? I did not know this as i thought it was a constant debuff?! how do paths interact with their positions I have no idea!?

Honestly these work with wanderer too. Only ones that don't are the flagellant ones since the skills change a lot. As for having no skills and wanderer, well you're kinda stuck for a bit :P
just started playing cleared my first run on maybe 3rd attempt. i am liking this game leper highway grave vestal. vestal did not make it in final fight... great game love it
I just started playing after having around 100h (which isn't much) in DD1 and damn ... I am getting destroyed by everything. So many freaking effects n' shit to keep an eye on.
I just played flagellant without paths and got the baby trophy for 50 percent more health. Combined with plague doctor, vestal and hellion. Every heal ranged from 20 - 40 and everyone could do it. So yeah, easy bossfight, only one party member died cause I played it stupid. Second Confession.
It's a shame that the paths for GR suck so bad that you just default to deadeye for blight as well lol. I'll take crit blight hits on deadeye over having to waste turns setting up stealth AND losing 3 speed with venomdrop anyday. Blight is slow enough already x_x
Yo shuff can you remake a guide in the act 3 boss. The boss now ignores taunt tokens so it screws with the tactics that are usually used unless you have advice to give me right here that would also help!

Im happy with the fact that my build was pretty close to what you said Occultist who i recently changed from warlock and trying to snipe backline to ritualist and making him a healer in 4 (its painfull but i guess those 74 heal crits are worth it) Jester with encore movement and stress heal in 3 Highwayman as sharpshooter with duealist advance and point blank shot double tap focus stealing buffs in 2 And crem de la crem of my party The chad leper tempest with well stock everything except ruin instead of clarity or what was that called its similiar like with occultist i can waste a turn but i can also crit for 74 and he tanks some damage although he seems to hit and crit much more often than the occultist Also im stuck on act 3 but im not really trying to sweat so i guess its that What is the possibility that those fucking eyeballs can use their sight on all 4 of my guys before the fight with the boss and how does he hit my entire team when he has blind and my highwayman and occuktist have the 75%dodge like how and how does leper hit him for 20 from 19-62 like how
I would suppose that depends a bit on when did you read that. Many of the hardest hitting 'Alpha strike' abilities have been nerfed along the way, such as Howling End in the most recent patch. Even when dots do less damage than straight on hit effects, its important to note in dd2 almost all monsters make death's door checks just as PCs do and using dots will force an extra DD check.
It's always good to have a source of dot on the team. They've gotten better since howling end and the like are getting nerfed like elmo said. Plus block is becoming more common.
For beginners if u wanna fight boss act 1 u just need to stun em very often and done u all good relationship in act 1 is trash i won with suspicious, envi and 1 amorous and always got backstab by my own team so good luck
A poster randomly appears on the wall of the Inn where the heroes are sitting down in the chairs. Clicking the poster allows you to hire the BH until the next inn.
I always think you are high when you make these videos. You and I have DRASTICALLY different play styles and opinions. Plague doc = surgeon most of the time and if ran with flag or warlock occultist, then alchemist. Audrey is dead eye, BUT if you also run jester and vestal then use pirouette and lunge. NEVER rempartee. Runaway = rank 4 orphan and straight to the sprawl. Leper, trade reflection for intimidate. Rest of it looks good though. Scourge could be argued for flag literally just because deathless becomes disgustingly OP.

Did anyone else lose some of their unlocked heroes once the game released? I had them all unlocked minus the flag
question what are those things on top of their portraits and how do I get them?

i can't even make it out of denial yet lmao gathering candles to upgrade all my heroes while I unlock skills at hero shrines. I'm sick of going through just the sprawl and tangle, ngl. lol

It is possible to finish denial with starter group with 0 upgrades

Occultist who i recently changed from warlock and trying to snipe backline to ritualist and making him a healer in 4 (its painfull but i guess those 74 heal crits are worth it)
Jester with encore movement and stress heal in 3
Highwayman as sharpshooter with duealist advance and point blank shot double tap focus stealing buffs in 2
And crem de la crem of my party
The chad leper tempest with well stock everything except ruin instead of clarity or what was that called its similiar like with occultist i can waste a turn but i can also crit for 74 and he tanks some damage although he seems to hit and crit much more often than the occultist
Also im stuck on act 3 but im not really trying to sweat so i guess its that
What is the possibility that those fucking eyeballs can use their sight on all 4 of my guys before the fight with the boss and how does he hit my entire team when he has blind and my highwayman and occuktist have the 75%dodge like how and how does leper hit him for 20 from 19-62 like how
If you're not playing on the beta branch, the obsession boss is getting changed. It's a fair bit easier now and it should hit live in a week or 2 :)

How good are dots in DD2? I read a couple of times that the dot-based damage doesn't compare to on-hit damage
I would suppose that depends a bit on when did you read that. Many of the hardest hitting 'Alpha strike' abilities have been nerfed along the way, such as Howling End in the most recent patch. Even when dots do less damage than straight on hit effects, its important to note in dd2 almost all monsters make death's door checks just as PCs do and using dots will force an extra DD check.
It's always good to have a source of dot on the team. They've gotten better since howling end and the like are getting nerfed like elmo said. Plus block is becoming more common.
For beginners if u wanna fight boss act 1 u just need to stun em very often and done u all good relationship in act 1 is trash i won with suspicious, envi and 1 amorous and always got backstab by my own team so good luck
What about Bounty Hunter??
Heavily team dependent since all his stuff is good. Usually you can take a stun, come hither, and marked for death plus an attack or tank skill.

A poster randomly appears on the wall of the Inn where the heroes are sitting down in the chairs. Clicking the poster allows you to hire the BH until the next inn.
I always think you are high when you make these videos. You and I have DRASTICALLY different play styles and opinions. Plague doc = surgeon most of the time and if ran with flag or warlock occultist, then alchemist. Audrey is dead eye, BUT if you also run jester and vestal then use pirouette and lunge. NEVER rempartee. Runaway = rank 4 orphan and straight to the sprawl. Leper, trade reflection for intimidate. Rest of it looks good though. Scourge could be argued for flag literally just because deathless becomes disgustingly OP.
