    A trick I learned from Devin Townsend for lush ambience is to run a relatively short delay into reverb and then into a longer delay. Sounds so nice!

      Don´t sell good gear at all! I stopped playing guitar for about 5 years but i didn´t sell anything so one day i just picked up my explorer, plugged it into my old engl and started playing again.
      Also, i mispurchased a Maxon OD808X and it became my favorite Overdrive when i bought a Gretsch half a year later.

    i used 4 pedals at the same time runing from my guitar amp with its settings, and the first pedal is the ebs unichorus, its switched on and set, and the second pedal is the ebs dynaverb pedal its switched on and set, to, the last pedal is the dynatone coral echo and delay pedal its set to and switched on, so together i get a really great sound and even the number 6 e string as a good deep reverberating tone to it and clean clear like having a bass guitar playing with the tunes and the verberator gives the number 6 e string the deep reverberation

    Very nice sound! I do something similar with a Catlinbread Belle Epoch (before fuzz) and an Ibanez DE7 (2nd to last) and toss in my new TC Elec T2 occasionally. Gets crazy at times but its fun trying to hone it in with volume swells.
    One of the funnest things to do is gets the two times just right so you get those funky rhythms like the dotted 8th.
    I'd like to get a nice digital delay next for a third.
    Keep these videos up. I like experimentation videos, going past traditional setups.

    • @thepedalzone
      @thepedalzone  7 лет назад

      Really happy you liked the video, man. Means a lot ot me :) And sounds like you got some cool tones going as well with that setup. Can't the Ibanez DE7 cop a nice digital delay? Even though I know where it shines is in its analog emulations :) If you need a killer digital delay, then I recommend you check out the Providence Chrono Delay or the Empress EchoSystem. Utterly amazing delay pedals :)

    • @looqo7632
      @looqo7632 7 лет назад

      Thanks for the recommendations. I've heard the Empress quite a bit and like it alot but... real estate. :/ but at this point I'm leaning towards a split board (one for just for fuzz/OD!).
      The DE7 does have digital but mine hasn't worked for a few years. :( and there is something that gets lost when using two analog sounds. Haunting for sure but you lose some clarity.

  • @mattgilbert7347

    Very nice.
    I go with 3
    One pristine dig (DD7)
    One dark analog (EQD Disaster Transport Jnr)
    One "interesting" delay (atm it's the Binson echorec simulations on my Keeley Dark Side)
    At least one of those with tap temo.

      Sounds related to what I’m doing with reverb, where I am running a Caroline Meteore after a Neunaber Wet. They get along really nicely, with the Wet giving more of an ambient vibe and the Meteore almost a spring feel. Each one can be pushed to the outer limits in different ways. I’m still experimenting but for now I’m actually leaving them both on most of the time (subtle settings). My delay is a Greer Black Tiger, which of course is analog-like. I do have a DD7 sitting around the house, and it would probably contribute a lot if I returned it to the board; the problem now is a real estate one-I’m out of space! Btw thank you for yet another great video. Your Meteore video was superb & helped me make the decision to add it to my arsenal!

  • @BTsMusicChannel
    @BTsMusicChannel 7 лет назад +7

    Love to steal ideas from other guitar players -- thanks. I agree, multiple delays are good. Why do I have 2 or 3 delays on my pedalboard? Each effect gives a different sound. I like having at least one analog (like MXR carbon copy or EHX Membory Boy), and at least one modeller (like Line 6 DM4 or TC Electronics Flashback) and possible one more set a different way or a digital delay (such as Boss DD-7). It makes it easy to switch between sounds as needed, either within a song (say to differentiate verse from chorus or lead from rhythm) or between songs, say to have a special effect I use in one song always ready. I might keep one modeller on my "normal" generic delay sound, and use the others for special effects. So I guess the reason is mainly convenience/ease of use onstage (so I dont have to think) and having a number of sounds in my palette.

      Thanks, man! Yeah, feeding the Gekko into the Chrono would definitely give you a similar vibe. The Chrono is a great digital delay, by the way. Before my fuzz I use tc prophet with a very tight slap back ,then in the effects loop I have the DD7+a vintage boss reverb .with the TC before the fuzz it gives a rich octave effect on my solos in high gain,the with the loop activated with volume down on guitar I get a sweet ambiance sound,I love using more than one delay.great videos much appreciated ✌️

    Hey Stefan, great video, not seen the Fairfield before. We just posted a video kind of similar but around swells, using the Kilobyte, Bigsky and Timeline tape delay..........similar ethos. Nothing better!

    Who is WE? You're alone there, aren't you? Which is no problem at all, but then don't talk like you're an enterprise.

    That "Tape like delay" is bringing repeats out of tune. Anyone else hear that?

      Yeah, there's modulation on the delay trails. So that's why you're hearing the pitch fluctuate slightly
