"Investigative judgement"and is biblical. Before Adam was sentenced (Genesis 3:15-19). there was first an investigation made. Genesis 3:8-14. The same investigation was done with Caine after killing Abel (Genesis 4:9-10) and the sentencing in Genesis 4:11-13. The same investigation is made in Genesis 11:5-6 and the sentencing in Genesis 11:7-8. The fourth "investigative judgement" conducted is at Sodom( Genesis 18:20-21,22) the evidence is found in Genesis 19:4-9 and the sentencing is Genesis 19:13,24. This investigative judgement is biblical. Seventh day adventist got it right and I support this teaching 100%

@david Tito, so you confirm then than SDA is wrong to claim that investigstive judgment started in 1844, because as you say, it was done in Genesis?
      Yeah, that's right.
However, you are still wrong in your understanding, because what happened in all those circumstances that you site is Investigation of the crime and then Judgment. This is the normal judicial process. Yet is has nothing to do with SDA erroneous and non Biblical doctrine of IJ.

@@kevinbooth6293 there is a definate distinction in Hebrews between the Holy Place (hagia) and the Most Holy Place (hagia hagion). In Hebrews 10:7 we read that the entire book is about Jesus…that is the entire OT. Jesus also said that all scripture testifies of Him in John 5:39. In Psalms 77:13 we read that God’s way is in the sanctuary.
So when we go to the sanctuary in the OT, we see that Jesus was the perfect spotless lamb that was sacrificed in the courtyard.
Did the sanctuary service end there (did it end at the cross)? No. Daily the priest went into the holy place with the blood of all those sacrifices, and tended to the bread, the incense and the lamps.
One day a year was the day of atonement when the high priest alone went with blood into the most holy place to cleanse the sanctuary from all the sin that had been transferred there. Anyone in the camp that was not fully surrendered to God through deep repentance and faith was to be cut off. This pointed to the antitypical final judgement and cleansing of sin.
Jesus, we are told in Hebrews is our high priest. We are told in Hebrews 8 that there is a literal heavenly sanctuary. We are told that the earthly sanctuary was a pattern of the heavenly.
All of the OT services pointed to Jesus and his ministry to save.
He entered into the holy place when he ascended into Heaven with his own blood just as the priests entered into the holy place on a daily basis. Jesus is the bread, He is the intercessor of incense mixing with our prayers, He is the light.
Just as the high priest did not enter daily into the most holy place, but only entered in on the day of judgement, so jesus did not enter into the most holy place of heaven until 1844 at the end of the 2300
      Day prophecy.
Jesus is the only one we can trust to get us through. Praise the Lord, He is our advocate and judge and savior. How can we be lost when he is for us. Surrender all to Him ❤️🙏🏻

I don't see why geographic location is this much of an issue for you to understand if you clearly see that the Day of Atonement has nothing to do with erasure of records of sins but it's the erasure of the sinfulness of God's people.
Again, this penal-legal lie has many focused about the deeds, the acts, the records of the deeds or acts that have violated God's holy law and now they're a criminal awaiting a heavenly tribunal where they will receive their proper sentencing before they're justly punished and executed.
This is the penal-legal deception that has intoxicated the world-it's led Seventh-day Adventists to continually focus on the Sabbath; what is the right way to keep the right day.
Then, this bleeds into having disdain towards Sunday-keeping churches that may be stuck in concrete ways of thinking God's law as well or they may also misunderstand sound biblical eschatology the Seventh-day Adventist Church has taught. Again, this pointing the finger that has happened from both camps has caused distortion and confusion as to the purpose of the Decalogue.
Many Adventists believe the purpose of this law is strict adherence to it much like the Pharisees of Christ's day. It is a shame that many Adventists are falling into the bear trap of Pharisaism as it pertains to the fourth commandment and they tie up heavy burdens on that day for their fellow parishioners to carry.
The Decalogue was added to diagnosis that we have a condition that we of ourselves cannot remedy but it is by partaking of the life and righteousness of Christ we are set right and renewed. We get new motives, desires, heart, mind, and a new spirit-the Spirit of truth and love itself.

Somebody wise once said, My yes is yes and no is no, easily understood and changes not. What makes sense to me is that the 2300 yrs is the end time, the 2300th day is the last day when the Ancient of Days sits and judgement is set, Jesus returns, the words of the little horn come into remembrance and the beast and false prophet are cast alive into the lake of fire, the sanctuary is cleansed as the sins of the forgiven are transferred to the scapegoat(satan) and satan is bound for a 1000 yrs, the wicked living are taken from the mill and the well to the marriage supper where their flesh is eaten by the fowls, the righteous dead are raised, the righteous living, not to preceed them are lastly caught up from the mill and the well unto the Lord, the books are opened and the resurrected give an account of themselves to their Judge and Savior, but they already know what their judgement is because His reward was with Him when He was seen coming in the clouds because the judgement was set.

Jesus never transgress any law or commandment and you would probably agree that he doesn't need to be investigated. What you don't understand about grace is that God doesn't look at my blood which is marked by so many transgressions, he's looking at the blood of Jesus which is spotless and doesn't need any investigation. By accepting the grace I make the decision to obey to the law of God and if I disobey tomorrow and repent I can ask God for forgiveness and will be saved only because of the blood of Jesus (a blood of obedience ...a blood that doesn't need any investigation)

Could a believer from 33 A.D. to 22nd Oct 1844 be delcared saved, reconciled and justified without the commencement of the IJ?
Remember, 22nd Oct1844, is the date that jesus apparently BEGAN his searching scrutiny work of the IJ beginning with the old testament believers then moving onto the new testament believers and those who come after.
    Any takers?

@E, the theory of Investigative Judgment is a fallacy. It's not Biblical. It is heretical. It's a blasphemy.
All people of all ages are saved in one way only. Through Jesus Christ. That's all there is.
Don't believe for a moment what SDA claims with their theory. 1844 has no prophetic significance. Nothing happened in heaven then.
Prior to Christ, people were being saved on the promise that He will come and die for our sins. This was signified by the animal sacrifices and sprinkling of blood on the veil.
After Christ, people are saved because He died for our sins and went in the Father's presence in fulfilllent of the Old Testament sanctuary services at Yom Kippur.

That's how a lot of people think about God's judgement, though. He's not saying that what Church or Ellen White teaches. According to Jesus we are not judged by what we do but by how judge others (Matt 7:2), our own sins are already forgiven thanks to Jesus. So the investigative judgement is not about God judging us, it's about us learning to stop mis-judging God (and one another).

I think we are in agreement. I never meant to suggest that sin is okay, or that good works and repentance are not important. But I believe that repentance and good works are the result of our salvation not the cause of it ("if you love me keep my commandments" - John 14:15, Jesus said, and we love him "because he first loved us" - 1 John 4:19). Atonement is about bringing us into a right relationship with God, and that happens by changing our attitudes towards Him not changing His attitude towards us. The atonement reveals that God already loves us with an everlasting love no matter what we do, our sins are already forgiven. We only need to accept that forgiveness, to stop being judgmental towards ourselves, others, and even God. Following God's Law shouldn't be about knowledge of good and evil (judgement), it should be all about expressing the love that we have received.

At the same time, it is a day for the wicked to be revealed, to be killed by the word of truth and destroyed by the brightness of that day. But the people of the holy ones will stand and endure. A church which preaches a gospel which is cursed is not Christian. Adventism is not Christian and not part of the larger Protestant Christian community.
Galatians 1:6-9: I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. In the parable of Matthew 22 the same figure of the marriage is introduced, and the investigative judgment is clearly represented as taking place before the marriage. Previous to the wedding the king comes in to see the guests, to see if all are attired in the wedding garment, the spotless robe of character washed and made white in the blood of the Lamb. Matthew 22:11; Revelation 7:14. He who is found wanting is cast out, but all who upon examination are seen to have the wedding garment on are accepted of God and accounted worthy of a share in His kingdom and a seat upon His throne. This work of examination of character, of determining who are prepared for the kingdom of God, is that of the investigative judgment, the closing work in the sanctuary above.

The reason God has books is because He is so fair and just and transparent that He will allow all to review His decisions as to whether someone is lost or saved. Those that have accepted Jesus Christ as their savior are saved in spite of Satan’s accusations. Satan is called the accuser of the brethren Rev 12:10. Satan obviously wants everyone lost and makes the case that we don’t deserve eternal life. Jesus is our advocate 1 John 2:1. And of course wants all saved. So a believer in Jesus has faith that He will cover them with His righteousness unto salvation.
