- I haven't tried a traditional Mai Tai with the Breezeway Blend yet! Justin Scarred joins me to try out the original recipe while using our brand new rum.

To make the cocktail in this video:
1944 Trader Vic's Mai Tai
1 oz fresh lime juice
1/4 oz rock candy syrup
1/4 oz orgeat
1/2 oz orange curaçao
2 oz Breezeway Blend rum
Shake with pebble ice. Pour into a double fashioned glass and garnish with spent lime shell and mint.

Back in the middle 80s I was a part time bartender/busboy/security for the bahooka (lots of fun times great stories)I was surrounded by tiki glory. Aquariums, totems, ships bells,masks,floats and such. Nothing seems to much, overdone great to see new old stuff coming out to revive what was one of the funnest (not a word) times of my life.🤙🌋

If role the lime on the cutting board with a bit of Presher before you cut the lime you will get more juice.
Jason and Spike, I just watched you with Spikes Breezeway, Mai Tai and your masks. Very entertaining and fun and an unexpected pleasure. You spent a little bit of time talking about Andrew McC ( omitted last name) Mr. Tiki Head. You presented the Andrew Tiki Head Tiki to Spike. Coincidentally Andrew worked for my wives architectural firm when he passed away. It brought tears to our eyes. It was and is still an unfortunate tragedy. I believe my wife will share Spikes video to Andrew’s father. Mike and Penny from Fountain Valley

The lime must be cut the Spike way. Otherwise, the fruit membrane will not release the juice. The fruit was not dry. The intact membrane between the segments prevented the dispersion of the liquid. The episode was great fun. Not Pin-Up Palmer fun, but still pretty awesome 😊

For me, the Mai Tai is definitely not the sweet spot for that rum. It’s flat. Better uses for that good product exist. Cheers!!
Yeah, I think it was good but not exceptional in the mai tai. It’s great in so many other applications.
