Being from Texas and traveling abroad a lot, so many times I would meet people who told me to not play my countries country. When I would tell them I wanted to show them music from my home. Every single person I've ever shown Townes to, has been blown away or deeply touched. His music resonates across languages, time and space. Truly a legendary poet. I love reading comments on his RUclips videos. They're all deep and heartfelt comments. He didn't just write music, he was able to put pain, hopelessness and the human experience into a beautiful minor melody.
Even more, Townes Van Zandt wasn't an influence of theirs early on. They just stumbled across his music, apparently, and it struck them. I just love how Amenra seems to be continuously growing and evolving. But this is a gorgeously haunting and emotional set.
