One of my favorite Superman moments in any movie or medium comes from Justice League: Doom There’s a reporter on top of a building, getting ready to take his own life. Now Superman could easily grab the gun in the blink of an eye, and carry the guy down to safety. But he doesn’t do that. He stays there, and talks to him. He disagrees with him when he says it no longer matters. “I’ve fought for the same things, even when it didn’t seem fashionable. It’s a never ending battle, but that’s why we can’t quit.” It was a trap, mind you, but that doesn’t undermine the message to me. As much as he gets dismissed as hokey or outdated, as much as people like to say you can’t have a good story with such an OP character, this is what the character is to me at his best. This is why the current iteration in the live action movies never sits well with me. Snyder has stated as much that he wanted it to be treated like a modern day telling of the Greek Gods. But that misses the core of the character for me. Superman’s character was never about the godly power he possesses. It was always about the human that posses it.
Insurance plans would most likely include a statement excluding super hero/villain related damages, unless additional coverage was added to the policy. It’s safe to assume that this add-on would a requirement for getting a home loan in or around Metropolis and Gotham, and be rather expensive.
“A hero can be anyone.” Even a man doing something as simple, and reassuring as giving a young boy back his game, and letting him know that things are going to be okay.

Even in his introductory comic, he used his powers to save a woman falsely convicted on death row. Superman vs the Elite. The Justice Lord and Cadmus arcs of JLU, and the one off of that series “For the Man Who Has Everything”. All Star Superman. Justice League: Doom. They all do fantastic jobs of fleshing our Superman because they don’t focus on his fights and powers but his driving motivations. Like take Superman vs the Elite. The entire film is an exploration of the place for Superman in the modern era, when held up against “heroes” that don’t mind killing, where even the public perception seems to be on their side. It’s a fascinating exploration of his character’s relevance in the modern age. He’s a character really worth exploring when handled right.
Superman is normally invincible. Her examples were all of non-durable people people snagging at inopportune times, but Superman can't snag. He was just literally thrown at a helicopter rotor and broke it. Dude could get his hair caught in a drill press and it would stop the motor or cut through the bit before he budged. All things considered, Edna could have worked supreme durability into Mr. Incredible's idea for a cape and made him a retractable cape shield so he could use his *durability* to tank wide blasts and protect people around him. Batman's cape is added protection plus glider capability. Batman is more creative than Edna, she's just artsier about it and has access to indestructible materials. Tell me why Mr. Incredible shouldn't have a cape made out of whatever Elastigirl's outfit is made of, except trade some of that elasticity for better blast resistance? Or make it out of some of that Knife-proof Polymer that hardens when struck by a point, since he can still be cut? I really enjoyed pulling these ideas out of my butt, thanks for making me think about capes, supers, and Edna. This was fun to think about.

The only opponnent that remember following him to the wilderness is Vegeta. In Frieza saga everyone on the Namek was already killed by Frieza's men , in Cell saga Cell built his arena in the middle of nowhere, in Buu saga super Buu already killed everyone on earth and the fight with kid Buu happens on Supreme Kai planet where there is nobody except for the Supreme Kai and Elder Kai , in Resurrection of F Frieza did blow up a city seconds after landing on earth as i remember but Goku wasnt even on the earth at the time.

Capes look cool but they're a serious hazard when fighting......or walking, you could literally trip on your cape, or it could get snagged on something sharp and face plant on the floor
NorthernStal The famously unknown penguin in some versions batman uses it as a bulletproof vest and in brave and the bold his cape could turn into a jetpack and in most versions he could use it to glide. It’s useful for non Super powered people but makes absolutely no sense for Super powered heroes

Macro I agree with all your points but #3. He starts by batting Doomsday away from the city, punching and heat-visioning him in the same direction, then when it looks like a couple more will have the guy in orbit or at least in the ocean, he decides to slam him DOWN, towards the city again?

What he could be trying to do is hit him downwards and then move super fast to hit him upwards again (which he has sometimes been shown to do). keep in mind, this superman has already fought darkseid. in man of steel, superman is still basically a freshman. in bvs, they did take doomsday away from the populated areas.
*And* this is still a darker, grittier, New 52-style Superman like the DCEU was going for, despite maintaining Superman's primary moral code. So yeah, they definitely could have learned something.

And imagine how much motivation it gave him to finish off doomsday. This battle will probably bet your last by the looks of things and you see a child that’s about to get crushed and you rescue him. Then that child procedes to give you a hug. He remembered why he’s even fighting doomsday in the first place. These people may not be *his* people but they still love him and trust him. Bro that would’ve given me the motivation and strength to kill doomsday.
That’s how it plays out in the comics. The B team JL were getting slaughtered by doomsday until Clark got there. Sometimes he gets caught up in who’s the tougher fighter instead of using all of his gifts in battle. He shouldn’t have slugged it out with doomsday. He didn’t use his speed nearly enough

In Justice League: War, he came off as extremely arrogant (very much like his comic counterpart who was going through the New 52), but slowly but surely, he became the Superman we all know and love. 0:36 THIS is what I would love to see more of in live action superhero stuff. Not just the hero having well choreographed fight scenes, but taking a brief moment to show what they are actually protecting. Taking a second to appreciate how heroes inspire the world around them, letting them know everything is going to be fine. Even the civilians showing warmth and care towards the hero makes for a nice scene.

@@Soldier-wi8ps Kryptonians are particularly vulnerable to magic, so if they knew he was Kryptonian, Zatanna, Captain Marvel/Shazam, Doctor Fate, John Constantine, the Spectre, would all be good choices to bring in against him (although you'd need to keep Zatanna and Constantine far from the action, as they're not physically much tougher than a regular person). However, the Spectre is unpredictable and often hard to reach, and Doctor Fate has his own agenda, and again can be hard to contact (either could be several orders of reality or dimensions away at any given moment). Captain Marvel would be a good choice, but he wasn't in use as a DC character much at all when the original Death of Superman story was written, so he didn't get included.
I love how superman's heat vision looks here, it's not just 2 simple laser beams, it looks more realistic and powerful. Also the entire battle looks awesome ! They did a good job on the animation! :)

Cesar Andres he has combat training in the cómics. He is a master at pressure point combat, learned two kryptonian martial arts, one being a concentrated martial art that allows you to enter the theta state. A martial arts that increases perspective and reliable on instinct. It’s actually over powered. For some reason, it gave him an INSANE boost when he learned it. The other being a mental martial art, which makes him immune to telepathic attacks and mind control.
I really love how this superman shows that he cares about the humans, he doesn't just save them, he saves them and talks to them in the middle of a battle to reassure them. That is Superman right there

This is for all the people who always say Superman doesn't need any help. He can do it all by himself. At the end of the day he is still just one person. Look at all the demands being put on him here. Trying to deal with Doomsday while still trying to save people who are in the way.
I think the scariest thing about this Doomsday is that, despite the appearance of a raging brute, he's not mindless. He actually displays some genuinely clever moves during the fight, catching Superman off guard in ways a mindless beast couldn't. That implies that on some level he is genuinely intelligent.

Saving people is the whole point. Even in his introductory comic, he used his powers to save a woman falsely convicted on death row.
Superman vs the Elite. The Justice Lord and Cadmus arcs of JLU, and the one off of that series “For the Man Who Has Everything”. All Star Superman. Justice League: Doom.
They all do fantastic jobs of fleshing our Superman because they don’t focus on his fights and powers but his driving motivations.
Like take Superman vs the Elite. The entire film is an exploration of the place for Superman in the modern era, when held up against “heroes” that don’t mind killing, where even the public perception seems to be on their side. It’s a fascinating exploration of his character’s relevance in the modern age.
He’s a character really worth exploring when handled right.
I would highly advise you watch the 2007 Superman doomsday…definitely a tier above this movie IMHO

Superman is normally invincible. Her examples were all of non-durable people people snagging at inopportune times, but Superman can't snag. He was just literally thrown at a helicopter rotor and broke it. Dude could get his hair caught in a drill press and it would stop the motor or cut through the bit before he budged. All things considered, Edna could have worked supreme durability into Mr. Incredible's idea for a cape and made him a retractable cape shield so he could use his *durability* to tank wide blasts and protect people around him.
Batman's cape is added protection plus glider capability. Batman is more creative than Edna, she's just artsier about it and has access to indestructible materials. Tell me why Mr. Incredible shouldn't have a cape made out of whatever Elastigirl's outfit is made of, except trade some of that elasticity for better blast resistance? Or make it out of some of that Knife-proof Polymer that hardens when struck by a point, since he can still be cut?
I really enjoyed pulling these ideas out of my butt, thanks for making me think about capes, supers, and Edna. This was fun to think about.

In Frieza saga everyone on the Namek was already killed by Frieza's men , in Cell saga Cell built his arena in the middle of nowhere, in Buu saga super Buu already killed everyone on earth and the fight with kid Buu happens on Supreme Kai planet where there is nobody except for the Supreme Kai and Elder Kai , in Resurrection of F Frieza did blow up a city seconds after landing on earth as i remember but Goku wasnt even on the earth at the time.

I agree with all your points but #3. He starts by batting Doomsday away from the city, punching and heat-visioning him in the same direction, then when it looks like a couple more will have the guy in orbit or at least in the ocean, he decides to slam him DOWN, towards the city again?

What he could be trying to do is hit him downwards and then move super fast to hit him upwards again (which he has sometimes been shown to do). But honestly it doesn’t feel that way and it’s not the best move in this kind of dire situation, I honestly think the writers probably thought it would look cool.
keep in mind, this superman has already fought darkseid. in man of steel, superman is still basically a freshman. in bvs, they did take doomsday away from the populated areas.
*And* this is still a darker, grittier, New 52-style Superman like the DCEU was going for, despite maintaining Superman's primary moral code. So yeah, they definitely could have learned something.

Not just the hero having well choreographed fight scenes, but taking a brief moment to show what they are actually protecting. Taking a second to appreciate how heroes inspire the world around them, letting them know everything is going to be fine. Cause first of all before superman can even do anything to send doomsday to space, doomsday would have evolved to the point where superman would not have been able to do that because he would be immune to it. I really love how this superman shows that he cares about the humans, he doesn't just save them, he saves them and talks to them in the middle of a battle to reassure them. That is Superman right there

I think the scariest thing about this Doomsday is that, despite the appearance of a raging brute, he's not mindless. He actually displays some genuinely clever moves during the fight, catching Superman off guard in ways a mindless beast couldn't. That implies that on some level he is genuinely intelligent.
