I think the reason why Kawasaki is claiming class leading suspension is because Polaris is using the bs 22 inches of “usable” travel number not actual wheel travel. The Rzr pro only has 17/20” inches of actual travel. If Kawasaki measured the krx this way it would be closer to 24-25” of useable travel
Awesome to have another sxs in the mix. I'm interested to see how well kawasaki's CVT puts the (alleged) 112hp to the ground. I wish they would have given it a different name. Comes with a great wheel combo, front end looks gnarly (a little too similar to the RZR for some people), intakes are in a great location, dash and steering wheel movement is cool. CVT tempt gauge....finally.
I sat in one for the first time yesterday and was bothered by the left side dead petal being so high up. As a result, my left leg and knee were bent upward and my right foot and right leg was in a normal position for gas petal use. Quite an “imbalance” so to speak. Is this something you’ve noticed, especially at your height??
Great video man ! I LOVE the KRX, I think Kawi hit it out of the park with this one, the look is like a Dune Buggy, and those a-arms look nice and thick (strong) which is great, a lot of other brands try and cut weight by making things smaller or thinner which makes it weaker. Anyways I love it, I'd love to own one but 26K+ tax for ANY vehicle you cant drive on the road is just crazy (unless of course you are rich haha) thanks for the video !
I'm sure they'll drop the "Teryx" the same way Polaris dropped "Ranger" on the RZR I like everything about it except for the width. Over 65 inches is useless to me The cvt sounds like the same design Yamaha has which has proven to be extremely durable and long lasting One thing you didn't mention is the weight. It's pretty heavy at around 1900 pounds. They also advertise that everything is built to be a lot more sturdy. I think the added weight is fine if you're gaining durability You can tell they put a lot of thought into this and I would definitely consider one if they made a 64" version
Great exterior look with the 31's & Beadlocks, Budget minded interior feel. But the most interesting feature is the "Low Power Mode" for rock climbing.
Badass review Chris! I love the KRX. Kawasaki hit a home run on this rig. Imo, I think they are comparing this machine to other naturally aspirated cars like the RZR XP1K and in that sense they would be class leading. Btw, I just listened to the podcast you did with SXS Dirt. It brought me back to your channel. I've been a long time subscriber but recently started watching more videos from ya. Keep up the great work sir 😎
Competition is a wonderful thing. Kuddos to both Honda and Kawasaki for coming onboard the SxS realm. Maybe this will force Polaris to actually produce quality not so much quantity. Kawasaki and Honda are huge and have good reputations for producing high quality equipment. Im excited for the future.
it has sort of an old school dune buggy kind vibe when you look at it's side profile.i like how the suspension geometry is in line with the rops as well.if i were to lose my mind and EVER consider a cvt sxs,it would be this one.i have no use for turbo power where i ride.the dash isn't attached to the steering wheel,it's attached to the steering column.yes,i know but i couldn't help it.
It's getting slammed for the power to weight ratio, but this might be the perfect average Joe rig. Beadlocks and 31 inch Carnivores from the factory, among other things, IMHO are setting this apart in the NA sport side by side world. A new category? Polaris General morphs with??? Lot's to like here if your primary focus is not dunes or top speed. A few short years ago this would be the shizzy. Very interested to see where the aftermarket takes this.
Great video. I like the looks of the new KRX. However, legally too wide for NH trails, but they do sell them here. Kind of like a catch me if you can type of thing I think, lol
Hey thanks, Kevin! lol, I hear you on the width. I was giving it more thought the other day when talking with someone and it really would have been nice if they could have brought it in on 64". I am with you in that they don't seem to be enforcing the wider machines as much. At the same time though that doesn't make it right. And riders that ore otherwise law abiding and looking to relax and have a good time don't want to constantly be worried about getting in trouble because their machine is a "little too wide" for the trail system. So unless they are going to widen trails more, it will continue to be a problem on some level.
@@NavigateOffroad sxs's are taking over the orv market and can't be ignored forever.eventually the trail restrictions will have to be relaxed.fortunately,up here in western canada it's not an issue.as long as we stay off the snowmobile trails,it's all good.

I drove the KRX here in Minnesota on this past Saturday. It`s a beast however had Kawasaki been smart like Honda and made a 64" wide version for the Eastern states I would have bought it. It`s not trail legal in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan. I`m not going to wait and see about the expanding of the 64" rule law in my local area. There are several things I dislike about the KRX. They use Metal for the wheel wells and the bottom of the machine, which will scratch and the rust in the future. This use of metal also makes it much heavier then the competition.
It’s aluminum so it will not rust. The metal keeps branches, wood sticks from coming up through the floorboards and trough your crotch, it has happened to people with plastic floorboards and wheel wells.
😆 Yea I hear you. For a sports Side by Side it is definitly slower than most expected. Although at the same time, most average riders are not going to be racing down trails at 60+ miles per hour. Especially in the Midwest where you live. I could see it effecting riders out west where there are miles of open dunes, but even then I don't think it will hold up 80+% of riders, know what I mean?
Navigate Offroad oh yah I get it! Occasionally I get in the upper 70s on some of the trails. Not gonna name any *cough cough red top trail, but I would I can’t wait to see some drag races compared to the others in it’s class.
Love kawi but was hoping for something more then the rubber band transmission from hell. I hate that transmission with a passion, whoever was aloud to open there mouth when that decision came around the table should have thrown them out of the room. Worst decision ever. It looks like a well rounded trail rider package out of the box if width isn’t a issue for your riding area.
I agree. I thought about it more after I shot this video...it would have been nice if they could have squeezed it down to 64".

they probably classed the krx with the rest of the NA sxs's, the rzr pro would be with the turbo class, just a guess though.
