Maybe in the end, it depicts a divine mystery, where two sides are designed to come together, complement deficiencies, and bring each other to balance. Throughout the laws of physics, as in the forces (except for gravity somehow), we see polarities drawing opposing charges together and repelling those that are like. A balance of difference that holds a system together.

Most people don’t have the emotional maturity to do trait integration. Social media and instant gratification have made people want relationships to be easy and effortless. This definitely explains why a lot of people I dated loved my assertiveness until I asserted myself with THEM. I definitely try to integrate traits I admire, even in friendships. But I also try to make sure I’m not bending too much to a point where I’m not being true to myself.

Thank you so much for bringing this up. I've yet for someone to actually respect and honor a stated boundary. It's like once it requires even a sneeze of effort, they bail.

I will do these exercises tonight. I think they are great to do. You 100% correct, some of the things I really liked about some ppl in past relationships where the down fall of the relationship.

I love this. Well done. I've never considered it this way before. I think it comes down to allowing ourselves to be influenced and shaped by our intimate partner. For sure this has to happen if a relationship is going to progress in a healthy way

This is all good for those ppl that follow neurotypical ways but not for ppk who are neurodiverse. There are some things that can be useful but ND ppl shouldn't take this to a tee.

Makes so much sense. Can I do this exercise with a partner in a relationship rather than just reflecting on a past one?

This is actually really great. My past relationship, my partner would say i was the rigid one and i would say he was reckless. Now im the easy going one and partner is routined and he inspires me and i think hes tryna be a bit more easy going.
Ill speak to him about it but i can see it happening already.

Can we still do that if we are in a relationship right now?
