I like watching your tutorial on bargello, can I say that after u cut the strips for the bargello and be for u start sewing the strip for the quilt, take each strip and iron the seams all n 1 direction then the next strip to that 1 you just iron it the opposite direction alternate each strip up and down. In other words be for you sew your barrel iron all of your seems one direction then when you cut your strips pick up every other strip and iron it in the opposite direction lay it back down then when you start to sew the strips they are in opposite direction for to sew.
Mathew that was very enjoyable to watch. When I was in high school...many moons ago, I took a class in needle point and that was the first pattern that they taught us. I forgot how pretty it was. I have watched other sewers explain this but could not wrap my head around it. It made it "SEAM" very easy. My next quilt just might be a bargello.
Loved this video because I have been doing wall hanging called Dazzling Diamonds and Undulations where the strips are cut at 60degree angles and Jan Hassard encourages one to choose fabrics that are a bit more daring. I was wondering whether one could apply this to bargello as well and lo and behold I discovered your video doing just that.
Matthew I am super Jazzed that you have your own fabric line!!!! YES YES YES !!! I love to watch and learn from you and i heard you say you wished you could have your own fabric line and OMG here it is and it is so AWESOME!!! congratulations to you Matthew!!! I love your new fabric line it is so oooo LA LA LOL i also follow you on FAT Quarter shop i love the way you sew. Thank you for being you!! God Bless .
Wow! At last someone who knows how to teach. Simple description and instruction. So pleased I found your site. In the video you were checking measurements on a print out. Am I able to purchase the instructions or are they free? I have subscribed to your site as I will be creating more things now that someone explains so well. Thank you for your enthusiasm and obvious joy in what you create and share with us. Many many thanks Su Robinson. Wirral, North East England.
Thanks Mathew for this tutorial! I have avoided bargello Quilts as I really didn’t think I could wrap my mind around it, BUT the way you demonstrated it and simplified the steps makes me want to give it a try. Thank you and have a great day!
Wow! THAT’S how it’s done?! It’s always been a mystery to me. I’m so glad you did a video for us to follow along. Love the version you’ve done of the pillows. Your fabric collection is so pretty!
Thanks for the great tutorial! I have an idea, and needed to confirm construction. You gave me the courage to make my own pattern. I want it to be 48 w and 36” high, but I’m gonna wing it. Cuz math is giving me a headache too. Subscribing !
You did a great job. The only thing that I would suggest is turn your seam allowance down to very small so the first time you wash it it doesn’t come apart. Since the pieces are small the stitching comes out easy. Love your color balance. I’ve made over 10 of them all the way up to cal king. They are extremely fun.
Wow! That is not a difficult pattern at all! I have avoided even looking at the Bargello style quilts because it seemed way over my skill level. Looks like there is another project in my queue. I'm going to have to grow very very old in order to get them all done. I absolutely LOVE your fabrics 😍
I've been wanting to make one of these, but didn't understand how to make the movement and waves. You explained it perfectly! Thank You! BTW I love your style, you're a hoot!
I am on the struggle bus when it comes to cutting the pieces for the quilt, haha. I have one tube sewn but when i fold it in half to make the cuts they are not all lining up. Do I trim it down before making the cuts?
I have a question that I guess would apply only to me . Being that I'm sort of " OCDish " ... when cutting the center strips should I start with an odd number like 3 or 5 cut the same width for symmetry... I drive myself crazy !
Yet another wonderful tutorial! Thank you Mister Domestic. This is definitely on my list. Sew much to make. You have opened up my world.

I have never seen seams “spun” like that! Definitely hoping over n watching that vid ✌🏻
I really enjoy your videos, I LOVE your laugh.it’s contagious.

You make it look very doable and not complicated at all thankyou 🤩👍🇦🇺
OMG!! Great tutorial!! You made this complicated pattern into something that any craft sewer can do!! I learned so much in such a short time!! TFS! 🌴😎
I wish I could watch this live but I cant right now. I will watch it when I get home. Thank you Matthew for being awesome!

I love how you explain the directions, its so easy to understand! I loved your fabric too. Thank You Mister Domestic
Thank you for taking the mystery out of a Bargello. I love how you showed the different looks it is possible to get.
Beautiful with useful knowledge! Although I’m sorta math-impaired, so I’m glad there’s a written pattern too. You never cease to impress.

You are wonderful, I can't wait to make this.. Great tutorial thank you go much again for making something look so easy.
Thank you again Matthew for a wonderful tutorial. I have always wanted to try a Bargello but now feel inspired to try a pillow first. :)
What fun! I have yet to make a bargello quilt.... a pillow would be great as practive. Thanks for sharing👍
Really superb quilt. Happy New Year !
Love the spinning seams on the back. I’ve never seen that before across the whole back.
I am trying to see a photo of the whole quilt. Can you please tell me where I can find it. Love the design
Thank You for his video this is my next quilt ,you make it seem so stress free and i love how you do the pressing. John in Massachusetts
I've been wanting to make one of these, but didn't understand how to make the movement and waves. You explained it perfectly! Thank You! BTW I love your style, you're a hoot!
Really enjoyed this tutorial. Looks terrific
LUUUUOVE your off-center quilt pattern - I’ve downloaded it, and it is Very near the top of my bucket list. Thank you. 🥰👏!!!
That was great! Definitely on my list to make!
I'm making one Right now!!! Sept, 20, 2020
I'll post ya a pic when done. Luv your channel thanks so much
Wow! Thanks, Matthew. You rock!
Thanks this will be my next quilt for sure.
Nice fabric and design. Where did you get that beautiful purple cutting mat?
I am on the struggle bus when it comes to cutting the pieces for the quilt, haha. I have one tube sewn but when i fold it in half to make the cuts they are not all lining up. Do I trim it down before making the cuts?
Spinning seam. They spin because the stitches are already unravelling. So won’t the spun seams fail at some point?
I love his giggles
I have a question that I guess would apply only to me . Being that I'm sort of " OCDish " ... when cutting the center strips should I start with an odd number like 3 or 5 cut the same width for symmetry... I drive myself crazy !
I've always wanted to do a bargello quilt! Thanks for your inspiration and motivation! :)
Great class!
Aha you fixed your deliberate mistake left of centre as you were laying them out. Oooh that worried me!
I made a king size bargello and never thought to "spin" the seams. Would have been so much better if I'd thought of that!
Sew fun. Thank you!
I loved it. Ty.❤
Excelente video y trabajo... Me gustaría esté en castellano. Gracias!
Omg 😲 LOVING THIS & YOU SO MUCH!!!
Thank you💙
made it easy to understand thanks
Why do you "spin" your seams? I've never seen that done before....
Love it!! Ty for sharing.
Why can’t all your seams on the back point down and then all the seams on the front point up?
You're adorable. Thank you for sharing!
😁
Are you sewing on a babylock machine?
Oh the deck looks like mine that’s why I asked...you have great videos I have learned a ton!
Love it

Woah, cool.
Great👍👍👍

Hablas tan rápido que no escuche de cuantos pulgadas eran 3?

Math hurts my brain also! Lol
Too intricate and fussy for me, but very interesting, nonetheless.
