I have been obsessed with this score since 1981. My mother took me to see the movie because she thought the piano was so beautiful. I went, at 12 years old, memorized it, then went home and taught it to myself. I've never imagined it to be played on the guitar. That was absolutely wonderful.
Thank you so much for your words, Robert….I heard this piece for the first time as accompaniment to a figure skating couple during some world championship and was deeply touched... then at some point I saw the movie and the interaction of the music with the plot left a deep impression on me... the music is so gentle but yet deep and true in its expression...I really admire Dave Grusin for this composition and I'm really happy that you liked my arrangement!
I have always loved this beautiful song but your magnificent arrangement totally blew me away! It is not often a song brings tears to my old eyes but this certainly did. I am just totally in awe of your wonderful performance.
