Wow Michael that sounds bad! At the time I already thought I was lucky cause for some reason after flying over my handlebar I just landed back on my feet 😅. Hope everything is ok now? Grts!

Hey Manou, I hope you are well. We are attempting the gold next weekend and we hope to finish it in time. I just have a quick question regarding the route. I know you have to reach the checkpoints for the stamps but is it possible to ride alternate routes along the track? Say for example there is a gravel descent (official Stoneman track) or a single track descent, can we ride the single track as well? or are they very strict and check the route through our gpx data? Hi there! Thanks for reaching out and glad to hear my tips were useful for you. To answer your question: no, there are no checks on your gpx data. The only “proof” are the stamps from the checkpoints on your card. However, I would personally just follow the official route because making some small detours along the way can easily end up costing you a lot of extra time in the end. Good luck with your Stoneman Gold adventure!
@@manoumaudgal great tip , it was hard enough as it is. Especially the route between Ouren and Grüfflingen. I was ready to quit...the bakery near the ruins of Burg Reuland saved us with coca cola and ice cold water 🤣 we got the gold after 15hrs of riding 💪🏽

Top video en top prestatie! Ik ben zelf van plan om in augustus te gaan. Enkele vragen heb ik voor jou(jullie); waar hebben jullie overnacht en wat is jullie voorbereiding geweest in aanloop naar de stoneman? Thanks alvast!
Hi Luc! Merci, tof te horen dat je de video leuk vindt. Voor de stoneman silver hebben we overnacht in Bütgenbach en St Vith, telkens bij partners die aangesloten zijn bij de Stoneman organisatie. Je kan via de site van de Arduenna alle accomodaties per locatie bekijken en boeken. Voor de Gold verbleven we in een appartement in het complex "Les terrasses de Malmedy" (geen partner van stoneman). We zijn op fysiek vlak een 5 tal maanden specifiek op de grotere afstand beginnen trainen. Zowel lange duurtrainingen (voor de 176km) alsook klimtrainingen (voor de 4000hm!!). Voor de rest is het ook belangrijk om voldoende en consequent te eten en te drinken. Ik zal proberen de komende dagen nog een tips & tricks video te maken met meer details. Alvast veel succes met de rit! Grts. Manou

You really have to be careful riding down the narrow ruts in the grass. I also nearly crashed.
