@@ReforgeGaming I do think so but I’m also probably butchering what I mean because I don’t remember all the details. But if this was something as simple saying sell to those regions they could have done that last year. This looks like it was a process that Sony had to do, that they didn’t think was worth it financially before HD2. They’re also the biggest insurance company in Japan, and we know what insurance companies do and that’s how they’ve treated the regions they don’t sell to, and could have been decisions not up to PlayStation. Sony may not serve those regions with any of their products. Those regions may have to get grey and black market for their camera lineup and have no official support. I don’t think Sony just snapped their fingers.
NICE. I'm very glad this is happening. Hopefully, this will start the ball rolling so they will stop this region locking games mess and just everyone enjoy games wherever they live.
Played Helldivers since day 1 or 2, and I've been hopping into this game here and there for the last two months, so I'm totally stoked. This is absolutely excellent news for the playerbase and for the folks at arrowhead. That said, this whole kerfuffle could've been avoided. Looking at YOU, SONY. Also Lono, you drank your gesticulation juice today and I'm here for it
This is the major reason I have boycotted PlayStation for so long I enjoyed Helldivers 2 I even have a PS4 but I felt that corporate greed killed it for me Im happy they are turning a new leaf and actually starting to be consumer friendly
but we still need to show sony that this screw up and left its mark and so i would encourage to boycot playstation and show them that if they dont play ball and be consumer friendly then the market will not accept them
they didn't lose 400 million, firewalk secured 200 million in funding 2 separate times and it didn't come from PlayStation. This has been falsely reported over and over again. PlayStation absolutely did NOT spend $400 million on Concord.
PSN should always be optional cause there is really no purpose other then making sony look good at investors the games worked without it so they do not need it but they just love forcing crap on to there customers
I don't feel bad for these pc players crying about making a psn it cost you nothing but I get it for the people that are region locked it sounds like Playstation is making the right call
and so what if its free? its free to make a steam account and we did now we would have needed to make another account to play the game thats like if playstation user needed to log in when they start there PS up and then log in to another account to play the game how would that make you feel? OH and also you get nothing for making the account and the only reason for that extra account is so they can more easily ban you from the game.

Honestly. Keeping these regions out was treasonous.
It was!
Sony probably reached some financial regulatory agreement with those regions to accept payment and all that red tape and bureaucracy.
Very doubtful that this is from a regulatory effort by Sony.

@@ReforgeGaminggo look at cubecobra that outlines specifically why PSN is region blocked. One of the main factors is the regions laws and regulations.
Awesome, this deserves a round of some Sweet Liber-tea!!!!
get sum

it's a start, right?
@@ReforgeGaming it most definitely is. They never should have started this to begin with.
I think they’re getting ready for a crazy 1-year anniversary moment.
Let's go! Such great news!
its a good start
@ReforgeGaming indeed

Lol wut
Isn't more players a good thing? That's dumb that they restrict it because of where you live.
indeed
Not a PC player; but I'm happy for the community for sure

This is a W more divers for democracy!
Yes it is!
About time they figured it out 👍

Quite refreshing when a company realizes they made a mistake and takes corrective action.
Agreed
after loosing 400 million they slowly finally came to their senses

Took em long enough
And it’s still not complete
This is just super earth propaganda you can’t fool me sympathizer
I don’t know what you speak of

@jordanrea2311 you seem butthurt over this for some reason are you ok?

If I ever “boycott” a video game company please take the Internet away from me.
