    Hearts of Stone is the Witcher 3's first big expansion. It came out a couple of months ago, and we actually recorded it when it cmae out, but never got a chance to edit it. It starts off a bit slow, but picks up and becomes an very intriguing story by the end. We can't wait for the next expansion, "Blood and Wine." Hearts of Stone is almost the size of a regular game, while "Blood and Wine" is said to be almost the same size and "The Witcher 2."
    Step again into the shoes of Geralt of Rivia, a professional monster slayer, this time hired to defeat a ruthless bandit captain, Olgierd von Everec, a man who possesses the power of immortality. The expansion lets you choose your own way through an adventure that includes recruiting a crew of break-in artists, spending a night partying with a ghost and outsmarting the most bizarre creatures Geralt has ever faced.
    As always, we have included important dialogue, relevant gameplay and all cutscenes to create one fluid cinematic experience. We hope you enjoy!

      CD Projekt Red has even provided new skins and items and other additional content free of charge. They are quite generous and have built up a lot of goodwill with the gaming community. I've definitely taken notice. Any new game they produce, I'll definitely be checking it out, regardless of whether its a new Witcher Game, DLC, or any other content. I'd have happily paid $30 for this DLC just to support a new, independent gaming company that actually delivers on quality and needs more funds in order to improve on future games and fix things like the combat system.
      People have no idea how hard it is to create a solid combat system in the gaming industry due to draconian intellectual property laws. If even a single line of code is similar to any other game's combat system, you get sued into oblivion. The big tech companies have made it that way in order to make it almost impossible for new competitors to break into the industry. We can only imagine the quality of games if IP laws were designed to bolster competition instead of destroying it. The Witcher 3 could have had a combat system similar to much of what we've seen in the God of Wars series.
      But, fortunately, when it comes to creating great video game stories, it's easy to avoid copyright infringement, and to do an excellent job by build on existing narrative IP (the Witcher book series) that already provides great storylines, characters, character arcs, lore, and so on. So that's where they've been able to excel where most video game publishers fail entirely. It's quite brilliant really. And it's a win-win. The books get more sales because of the video game, and the video games get the best narratives we've seen from the industry in decades.

      Dude, but the ending. That riddle was so easy that I thought it had to be a trap because "mirror" was too obvious. Plus "no blow can harm me, cause me pain." You can definitely do harm to a mirror by striking it. So I thought, ugh, this is difficult. Everything else fits with mirror, but this part means it's an obvious misdirect. But no, I was wrong. Painfully, sadly wrong.

    • @noobster4779
      @noobster4779 8 месяцев назад

      Mirror isnt the answer, its mirror image. Whichis why Gaunter hides in the waters reflection and not in any of the actual mirrors.
      Gaunter is the merchant of mirrors because he reflects the peoples characters who make a contract with him into their curses.
      He basically holds everybody a mirror in their face, confronting them with who they are.
      While he is evil or more exactly has no problem killing people just because they annoy him, when it comes to his contracts they are always a reflection of the contracters character or action twisted around.@@breakmanradio2530

I just love everything in this - the characters, the narrative, the music - everything is top notch. Even the Mirror Guy is such a character. Puts all of them modern TV shows to shame. Unlike some game of thrones, where barbarian pounds sarah connor from behind, even a sex scene was beautiful, not dirty. Voice actors are top notch and Shani is such a sweetheart ❤️ this is what a real DLC looks like, not cut out of the game content that is showed into in-game store. I watched another vid where it was a different ending and I think it would have gone great with this play through though it's technically the 'bad ending' where you let the guy lose his soul but the 'demon' as a reward tells you how to save ciri in the main game. I find the demon guy quite interesting.

    Can someone explain the premise of the 3 favours owed to Olgierd? According to the story Olgierd was the one who didn't fulfill his end with Guanter, so why are we doing 3 favours for him?

    • @aptsag3390
      @aptsag3390 4 года назад

      At first granted Olgierd (money , her wife, and turned prince to frog). Also granted Olgierd immortality as you see as he can not die from anything. Since the price for all these things is huge , whats the point of being immortal while Gaunter would take his soul anyway after he granted all of his wishes. So they make a pact( Gaunter shall grant 3 wishes not by himself) while they sit on the moon( He thought it would be impossible to be on the moon so why not). At the end Olgierd got outsmarted by both of them and you as a player decide if you want to save him or not by gambling your soul for his.

    One thing I never got is why every character is voiced by a Brit other then Geralt. Isn’t this polish? How does polish translate to English as a British caste and an American protagonist?

    • @richardrussel4567
      @richardrussel4567 4 года назад +2

      British accents make us Americans think "high fantasy". That's why everyone in the Lord of the rings are British even though they're not.

      It's called localisation. If they speak english with a foregin accent that registers as "character not speaking their first language". If they speak english, so an english audiance understands it, they use english accents.

    There is one thing i don't understand - why should he fulfill 3 more wishes ? yeah it makes sense to be 3 cause it's ancient symbolical and magical number and we all know in the witcher universe that's very important and in our world mythology that's how you made a deal with the devil - but isn't master mirror already fulfill some wishes to olgierd like making him rich and immortal ? where is the catch?

    • @PeterPetrowitsch
      @PeterPetrowitsch 4 года назад

      As far as i understand it the contract was as follows: Gaunter grants Olgierd 3 wishes (immortality,mad stacks of cash, froggo prince) for Olgierds soul, but he can collect that debt only when he fulfills 3 more requests by proxy and afterwards they stand together on the moon.

    • @suyci
      @suyci 3 года назад +1

      There are no two sets of three wishes. It's all in the phrasing. The prince was cursed by Olgierd himself, not by O'dimm. In Iris' story we see that he had some knowledge of the occult. Anyways, if I had to guess the wishes probably went like this:
      First
      - I want my riches and family name restored
      Second
      - I want to be immortal
      Third
      - I want three of my requests fulfilled by anyone but you, then you can have my soul if we stand together on the moon
      Olgierd probably thought he could live forever this way without O'Dimm being able to fulfill it, especially since the requests dealt with powerful wraiths and demons he set up himself, a heist that no normal man could perform and playing with his dead brother that only a powerful sorcerer with some difficult preparations could normally fulfil. His third wish was pretty much nothing but a road block to keep his soul, a challenge O'Dimm was delighted in taking.
