Shadow of War continues the narrative from Shadow of Mordor, following Talion who is still infused with the spirit of the elf lord Celebrimbor. Talion has forged a new Ring of Power, which Celebrimbor believes could be controlled to avoid becoming a Dark Lord and instead become a powerful king. Talion, while less interested in power, believes Celebrimbor's cause is just and agrees to help in facing the newly returned Sauron and his growing armies, including the Nazgûl
As always we used relevant gameplay, important dialogue and all cutscenes to create a fluid cinematic experience. We hope you enjoy!

African-American Gondorians?
@@rickdeckard1075 Apparently the existence of the Haradrim, the fact that Ecthelion in his time of rule didn't discriminate as long as people pledged to his service, and the established backstory in the game that Baranor is a former Haradrim child is like, INSANELY difficult to grasp or something.
@@rickdeckard1075 LMAO
Baranors skintone is the exact same looking as the Haradrim you see in the Desolation of Mordor campaign
The only difference you can - and rightly at least - argue is the facial structure of Baranor looks slightly closer to that of your average African American man, or ""Negroid"" as you so delicately put it.
But then, it's a fantasy universe, and he's also the only one in the entire game, complete with a fairly believable in universe explanation for his existence as a Gondorian that does line up with Tolkien's canon.
Also, you ignore that Haradrim came from 3 different regions, each with different looks to them and darker skin tones, as the entire region of Harad could easily serve as a fantasy standin for Africa, the Middle-East, and other similar regions. In particular the men from Far Harad had very very dark skin to the point they were often referred to as "Half-Trolls" in his text. Whereas the men from Harad are closest to Sub-Saharan Africans, Near Harad was very seldom described, so there's not much there to go on.
The Haradrim as a whole are a fantasy kitchen sink of Saracen, Indian, even Greek, and Sub-Saharan African elements mixed together. I find it particularly amusing that you seem to so greatly dislike the existence of a non-white character in a heroic role, do you have some sort of issue you want to talk about?
@@EmptyTenementSpirit ummm... you lost me at "could easily serve as..."...this is re-contextualization of the tolkien meta-verse. which is fine, as long as you preface your speculations with that.

I'm still having trouble placing this game in the timeline, but after Melkor fell, Sauron just continued his efforts. So depending on when this game takes place it could be accurate.

The cut scenes of this game were far better than amazon's rings of power
I like how in this part of the franchise, the two souls basically make one mind
Talion tries to help out others and brings out most of the fighting
Celebrimbor is selfish and self-centered, yet is pretty strategic
That's Gollum in a nutshell.
His mind is half the one ring and half what's left of him.
I don't think Celebrimbor is selfish. I think he is fixated on defeating Sauron.

The orcs voice actors are fantastic, so fun to listen at, but Celebrimbor's is just great. It sold me so much on the character, how determined he is, how much he thinks he's right, and how cruel can he be...
Did anyone else notice that when ratbag was explaining that being overlord was hard and that you have to feed your followers train your followers and make sure you don’t get killed by your followers the camera slowly moves to bruz foreshadowing his betrayal

@@Nightwolf-nm4pb I think it is but its just a game anyway, have a good day, bye.
The voice acting for the bright lord is well done.
Funny thing is these games actually (tough not directly) explain why Sauron actually wasted his time reaching with his hand towards Isildur instead of... you know, just beating him to pulp with his mace, he was trying to dominate him with the power of the ring.
Not actually canon, but quite plausible seen form the game's perspective.
Also makes Sauron look less then a dumbass for doing so in the first place.
Other perspective is that he attempted to grab Isildur in order to burn him to cinders in front of his troops annihilating their morale. This is what Sauron did to Gil-Galad, the elven lord leading the elves in the final battle of last alliance. Sauron grabbed him, lifted him up and and burnt him to ash with his gaze in front of Gil-Galad's men.
In the book, it's more like Sauron and Isildur were cast down, and the latter took the opportunity to scrape the finger off the former.
@@moredetonation3755 Original is quite anticlimactic yes. They more or less were Sauron down until he was tired.
In the book isiluder takes the ring after they have overwhelmed him, not the reason he gets overwhelmed/defeated

Celerimbor: "She wields the light of Galdriel...We can recover the ring.."

Huh, guess this explains why it took the Nazgul so long to find the One Ring... all this infighting with Talion and Celebrimbor probably took up many years before it finally got resolved.
I am of course aware that this isn't canon to Tolkien, but it's as good an explanation as any.
Of coarse it's not cannon. When has Shelob (the spider that tried to kill Frodo) ever been able to cast illusions and visions?
Also, has there ever been blacks in lotr?
I like to consider shadow of war at the very least semi canon (if not completely) to the films.
Books though? No
It looks like they borrow loosely on Tolkien's legendarium and went heavily on Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings for visuals. But, unless they borrow straight from the Silmarillion, The Lost Tales, Original Lord of the Rings, or Hobbit Books, its hardly cannon, I think.

Crafting a thicc ring with your life force in it is apparently quite the power boost
Shit just got real in Shadow of war
I noticed that myself. I kinda wonder why that is.
Same reason why Talion looks different between the two games. They just simply changed his design. Also to making him look bright enough to be the Bright Lord
He was brighter in the first game tbh. He also looked more menacing as a wraith.
After seeing the ending I cannot stop imagining an orc playing with the towers lightbulb switch (most probably Ratbag)
Lol
Ratbag: Red, Blue, Red, Blue, oooh.... this is fun... Dark Lord, Bright Lord....
42:00 I love how celebrimbor just shows up, just breathing in random places and vibin lol
I know I'm late but I just finished the game and this is how I felt about the ending.
Celebrimbor chose Talion carefully based on who he was and what happened to him and his family. He wanted to use him for his own benefit only, not for the good of the middle earth.
When the story began, Talion said: "I should have died with my family". Celebrimbor told him: " I thought you wanted revenge".
At the end Talion told him:" I would not trade one dark lord for another, this is not the end I fought for!"
Celebrimbor tells him: "This is not about your petty vengeance"
Clear indication that he used Talion just to get the power in his own hands and he was really not that different from Sauron! That was really disappointing to me because I really liked Celebrimbor :(
What’s also funny is that Talion seems completely disinterested in revenge. He just wants to die, so Celebrimbor is projecting his own personality onto Talion. Instead of revenge, Talion just wants to stop Sauron because he has the means to.
It definitely lead up to you that I figure he was gonna end up like Sauron and using tal
Well it's the only logic conclusion for Celebrimbor in that story. Yes he wanted to stop Sauron but right at the beginning you see that he is just as hungry for power as Sauron, he does the same and recruits barbaric orks. I'm sure there are just not that much humans in this story cause them and Celebrimbors Orks would've killed eachother. Sauron wanted the power to bring order to middle earth, Celebrimbor wanted powet to bring peace...you see, it's basically the same. You can't control everything, you can't have that much power without it poisoning you. At the end they are bound together for all time 🤷♂️
In defense of creators who made Celebrimbor evil unlike in the canon-
Celebrimbir IS, after all, Feanor's grandson.
So? The Oath of Feanor did not include Celebrimbor... being related to someone doesn't make you that someone
@@samthomson7991 So why were Fingolfins's sons like their father? Turgon was literally Fingolfin v2.0, Gil-Galad, was grandson of Fingolfin but you cannot really say he was not sharing majority of his traits with his Grandfather, nonetheless Noldor elves always used to be a bit proud and vengeful than their kin, which you can clearly see in Celebrimbor, which to Silmarillion readers obviously reminds of Feanor. This might be non-canon, but I liked the story, it was very interesting.
@@samthomson7991 you need to read the Silmarillion. Elves take after their parents deeply because when they're conceived each of the parents fae separates and makes the childs fae together. The fae is sort of like the concept of souls but the child inherits much from their parents, we can see this in a lot of examples like the comment above provides ^. So yes, it's absolutely possible Celebrimbor is VERY much like his father.
@@bladerunner7014 yes I agree, I think it was purposely done considering the original lore and how the fae works with elves and men (the only ones who posses the fae (like our souls)). There's plenty of examples of the two races inheriting a lot more than physical traits from their parents. There's lots of good examples in Aragorns bloodline, for example.

I feel like Talion is kinda underrated, some people like Tear of Grace (A youtuber) don’t seem to like him, but he is a hero. First of all, he was a captain of the Black Gate, defending Gondor from orcs/Uruks. He killed the Black hammer and murdered the Tower. He was involved (but didn’t necessarily kill) in the death of the Black Hand. He killed thousands of Uruk grunts, captains, war chiefs, and overlords during his time in Mordor. He freed Islidur from Saurons domination, he became friends with some orcs, not to easy, yet not to hard. He friended Bruz (Dominated, yet still acted as a friend, but not for long) Ratbag (no domination, and still good friends) and Slayer (not sure if dominated, I assume so, but he seems like a loyal friend) Talion also found the strength to see Celebrimbor for who he really was and tried to stop him from his plans, unlike Eltariel, who blindly followed him into battle after Talion left. I mean, Celebrimbor wouldn’t have been in that spot for years if he hadn’t found Talion, the guy that technically carried him to his position now. Even after being betrayed, he sacrificed his life by putting on Islidurs ring. By doing that, he slowly gets pulled into joining the Nazgul, but delays Saurons attack on Middle Earth for years so they can prepare when Talion falls. His goal went from just dying so he can be with his family, to protecting Middle Earth for as long as he can by keeping Mordor in a state of war. Yet after all of this, people still don’t like Talion and think he is weak. Instead of talking about everything Talion did wrong and should have done, we should be talking about all of this he’s done for Middle Earth in the long run.
He is one of my favorite people in the Middle-earth universe, regardless of whether or not he was canon. His tale will always inspire me and move me.

For those asking when the next game releases, there is probably no next game. This video is aweseome, except the actual ending is not included. SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS. After the fight between Eltariel, Celebrimbor and Sauron, the game proceeds to a 4th act called the Shadow Wars. In this act,Talion must defend his fortresses from invasion to keep Sauron/Celebrimbor at bay to buy time for the free people’s of middle earth to prepare for the War of the Ring. Based on the game’s dialogue during this act, the war continues for many years. Eventually Talion succumbs to the influence of Isildur’s ring and joins the Nazgul and they proceed to the Shire in search of the One Ring. The narration hints that the events of the Lord of the Rings occurs and Talion’s soul is free once the One Ring is destroyed in Mt. Doom. A cutscene shows Talion walking through a field in the afterlife, slowly removing his armor and weapons, finally at peace. The End
Just have looked up that ending myself since I couldn't be bothered to play the tedious grind that Shadow Wars still are, even after the Devs of the game have shortened it.
One thing heavily irks me though: We've seen that without a ring of power Talion suffers his mortal injury from the very beginning of the first game again, so why can he live now? He should be death but free. Guess the storywriters wanted a superhappy goody two shoes ending at all cost, even if the cost was all logical coherence.

It's the same thing they're trying to do with Harry Potter, turning the snake into a woman.
I love how they are expanding Sauron and the Nazgul as characters in both of these games.
Both the books and the movies were kinda lackluster in that regard.
In the LotR books (talking strictly about the LotR books here, not Silmarillion or other stories), Sauron and the Nazgul serve more as a plot device rather than being deep and meaningful characters. The books had its focus on the main characters and some of those they encountered on their journey.
Don't get me wrong, I think its cool that they added some character to the villains in the games, but the two times I've read the books, I've never felt the need to expand Sauron as a character.

I loved the rings of power. And here, well surely Celebrimbor would already know how to destroy the nazgul - with blades forged by the Dunedain from the barrow downs, or else chuck the one ring down mt doom. Some huge plot holes, but doesn't stop me from enjoying it.

The best scene in the game.
15:05 MAN that clutch save was satisfying!
Wow. Following the story, I get the feeling that Celebrimbor wasn't deceived by Sauron into forging the Rings of Power as he claimed. Judging by Celebrimbor's lust for power and craving to dominate, it's very likely that he was Sauron's willing partner from the very beginning, and he created the Rings knowing full-well what they were and what they could do to the bearers. If not for the fact that Sauron didn't want to share power and turned against Celebrimbor to gain sole mastery of the Rings, Celebrimbor would've been fine with arrangement in which he and Sauron dominate all Middle Earth and crush all dissent through the power of the Rings.
You missed a couple cutscenes. The scene in the fighting pits with idril and the actual ending
The best Tolkien Universe game so far.
I would love to see a sequel to shadow of war, with the future technology that's coming. With supper realism and ultra high definition for 2020-2021.

Kinda bugs me that sauron took his elf shape again when it was said that he could no longer take that shape but other wise a great game
Thank u for putting all this together!✌🏻👌🏻
I feel they could have saved "War" for a third game, and instead of making Helm and Isildur Nazgul, they could have focused on the history of The Witch King and Khamûl the Easterling; and instead of making Talion a ringwraith they just make him another Black Hand and save him for a supporting Antagonist/Antihero for the third game.
Guess we all can't have what we want. :/
Don't know, I kinda found the plot of this one a bit over the top. Not that I mind the liberties generally too much, but those liberties were kinda excessive. For example I do not mind that Shelob could transform, but she would not help against Sauron, because she simply is like her mother Ungoliant, she doesn't simply care. Instead of Isildur and Helm Hammerhand, they could use some other names, heck even they could make a story for Khamul and some other unknown Nazguls. Last but not least, Talion should become subjective to the Dark Lord THE MOMENT he put on the ring. I was completely fine with other liberties, like the Orc Necromancer or the Balrog, but some things were too strange.
That's what I just addressed. Save for Shelob's purpose anyway, but my sentiments exactly.
Well, Shelob was a being meant to devour everything, I could get her purpose in the game, but let's be honest, she was portrayed to be somewhat good, which sucked. It would be even better than this, if Galadriel or Celeborn came over, gave him one or two visions and went back to Lothlorien, yes it was so bad. And let's pretend everything is ok till now. A Nazgul-hunter and a Wraith-Ranger besting EVERY DAMN NAZGUL IN COMBAT INCLUDING THE WITCH-KING OF ANGMAR? I will be honest, the plot kinda disappointed me, though the game is amazing. They could hold kinda back, and not include too many superpowered beings of the era, at least not yet, but in the last sequel of this. This is why, of all the liberties I have seen in Lord of The Rings, LOTRO still gets the first place in terms of lore.
Are you forgetting that aragorn fought off all of the nazgul at weathertop with only a sword and a torch? I think an immortal wraith ranger ring bearer and an elf with light powers can handle them.
Celebrimbor really wanth his Ring backk !!!!!!!, his ring is what he think all of tthe time
I mean with a name like thunder bowels that is the greatest ally one could hope for
I love how the guy's name at 3:12:52 is Fubar the Steady
Fubar - Fucked up beyond all recognition (F.U.B.A.R.)
Thanks for the early upload gamerslittleplayground but gotta say sucks to see tailon become one of the nazgul 😢 but his bad ass ending armor though!!
Even though this game takes a lot of liberty of changing up the lore of Tolkien, it's still better than the Hobbit movies. I hope WB tries to adapt this and the previous game to movies. Maybe not having Shelob as a woman or Helm Hammerhand as nazgul, but the overall story about Talion, Celembrimbor, how the nazgul came to existence, Minas Ithil and Sauron resurgence.
TheDarkKnightOfVPOP has long as helm hammer uses his fist not a hammer
Thank you
I’d love a game set in the First Age.
damn good. will there be a third one ?
Wish we had seen what happened to Ratbag and the other orcs basically
btw, clams casino
The game was good I just wish the story was a bit better I loved the first game how it was about him and his family this celebrimbor is just a jerk and talion is awesome as always
Agreed, there should of at least been some closure between Talion and Celebrimbor at the end and have them atleast fight/confront each other. Instead we just see Talion fall into despair and that's it; the ending was very anticlimactic.
@@NiteF0X it's a nice thought but I think they wanted to show how broken and how much talion had lost his humanity at this point. He was just a broken man who's soul had slowly been eaten away during all this time. He deserved to go out like a hero, but that's all he is now.
I am in possession of the one ring that is needed to rule all of the rings including the one ring that rules all of the rings !!! A-HA !
thank you GLP :)
+Fatur Listio Prabowo anytime, thanks for watching!
Shadow of mordor and shadow of war are awesome games in the middle earth game history
i loved talion he is the hero to me 🙏
Great, now I want a Spider Girl
Story is sith. I still watched this because of lord of the rings side stories.
I wanted him to answer Eltariels question...lol does he suffer when he dies? She is so badass really love that character
Domina Dawson Until she betrays Talion and leaves him for dead. She kind of loses her badass vibe then.
Talion and Celebrium are like Best Bromance.
mm yes bromance equals betrayal
