Just found your channel when I was exploring putting a lift on my daughters 3.6 Outback. These are the exact roads I taught her to drive on. Next time you're circumnavigating Delamar Mountain head up 3n12C. Its fairly rutted and holds onto the snow a bit longer. Great yellow post site camping. Pops out at 2n09. Really enjoyed the video.
I live near hear , what would say either by experience or by word of mouth how also the Forester Wilderness compare , especially it having different motors they should have keeped them the same for the badging
They must have really good roads in Ohio if that is considered off road. That’s a typical Nebraska country road in the spring or after a rain. And about every neighborhood when the plows don’t make it out.
As a michigan folk, i can vouch, the obw does fantastic in snow. Those yoko geos are perfect. Enough grip, but not too much where ya cant have a little fun yet
@@roamingwithjosh also laughing in 7 witnessed slide offs today**. Lot of people here need to realize 90% of a situation is the driver, and proper assessment, not the vehicle. Food for thought for other viewers who've never off roaded and are eyeballing a bronco raptor. LOL
What a well done and relaxing video, I thoroughly enjoyed it! Awesome car and gorgeous scenery, what's not to like? I'm waiting on a special order OBW. I'm getting a 2" lift and larger tires. Your tires look really good and proportionate to the vehicle (IMO thats the size the OBW should come with) what size are they? Does the spare fit in the hidden well or is it too large?
Thanks for the comment and congrats on the OBW! The tire is 245/65/17 and as long as you air down the spare tire all the way you can make it fit in the spare tire compartment.
Another great video! Since you also own a Jeep you have the unique ability to really be able to push the Outback hard! As a Wilderness owner myself I would really like to see you push it to the limits, get it stuck, so those of use that solo ride can really see the limitations. I have not yet had mine in what I would call deep mud, but it does seem to do OK. Personally I feel that mud and snow is the Outback Wilderness bread and butter. X-Mode particularly X-Mode Deep Snow/Mud mode really seems to work well in those situations. You really just have to get on that gas and give it hell! LOL X-Mode will do its thing and power through... I live in the South East so we have way more mud than rock etc. Do you use GAIA GPS at all? It supports Apple Carplay and will work on the large screen in the Outback Wilderness, I love it! Side question, what are you using to attach your traction boards to the roof rack? Thanks!
Thanks for the input! I would push it that hard if I had a winch. Getting buried in mud and having to dig myself out and use maxtrax doesn’t sound like a blast! I had no idea about the Gaia trick and will be using that from now on! I’m using these amzn.to/3gJJSAv
@@roamingwithjosh thanks! I assume you recommend the standard 6-30psi version. Can you recommend a good air compressor to fill back up with. I only have a cheap $15 autozone model so I should probably invest in a good one that doesn’t require wiring it into the car. Is it better to plug into the 12v or directly to the battery? Thanks!
Slightly unrelated but hoping to get your opinion on traction boards. Is 2 enough or should I have 4? What do you think of mini traction boards for the Outback Wilderness? Or should I stick to full size boards? Thanks!
This looks so fun. You guys are doing exactly what me and my wife are slowly gearing up to do. Just hit 2k miles on our new OBW.
Right on! Congrats!

Much appreciated! I will definitely check those out.
Thanks for taking the time to share your adventures.
Well at least you 3 are having fun & doing more with their OB's than 75% of OB owner's.
😂😂 very true

Ohio doesn't have much of anything off-road

Got us thinking of making another BB trip - good stuff as always!
Thank you!
Do you have all your skid plates on your Wilderness?
I have some, but not the entire underbody.
I wanna see that outback use deep snow and mud setting 😁
Me too! Just need some of both!
What did you air down to? Love the videos! I have the same model and color. Will likely be getting the Ironman suspension kit as well!
We usually go down to 20 in the rear and 15-18 up front, depending on the load of the vehicle. Definitely could go lower without a load.
Awesome vid! Those tires really are a snug fit! Do you ever get any rub at all?
Thank you! No rubbing at all.
Thanks for sharing. We take delivery of one in a few weeks.
Sweet!

No worries!
What size tyres do you have on this? Looks great with the BFGs 👍
245/65/17
What cross bars are you using in this video?
We had the yakima HD load bars
Did you go with the stock Yokohama tires? Also what did guys air down to?
No, we replaced those with BFG ko2’s and we generally air down to 20 in the back and 17 in the front.
Love it!
Thanks, dude!
@Overlanding Now. Really enjoyed the video. Would love to know when you guys engage any modes if possible. Keep up the good work
Noted! Thanks!
What PSI do you run front and back and what brand of deflator are you using?
Here is the deflator I use amzn.to/3MfkqkD and we generally go down to 20 in the rear and 18 in the front depending on the load of the vehicle.

@@roamingwithjosh I am suggesting that you bring the Jeep and the OBW with you. Use the Jeep as a recovery vehicle.
What’s the lights you got near the windshield?
these ones - amzn.to/3qYpPDS
Me imaginé que era mi carro nieve nunca salido de la ciudad Mi carro es igual y del mismo color me encanta gracias por este video
Who supplied and installed your rock rails?
LP Aventure is who makes them and I installed them.
I think I missed it in the video. What trail is this?
I don’t remember the exact trail number we were on. I apologize!
What load range are the k02? D,E?
the Ko2's in 245/65/17 are a D rating.
What tire deflaters do you use and what pressure do you typical air down to when offroading?
I would like to know this as well.
I use the staun tire deflators. I go down to 20 in the back and 17-18 in the front. Here’s the link for them. amzn.to/3uQmXM9
I put the link for the product in the other comment!

If you did 60fps videos, I'd sub ;)
Ok
Why does that matter. Movies are shot in 28fps.... do you refuse those as well? Lol
