I've always had a preference for Olympus cameras from years and years ago when my friend at school had an Olympus Trip 35mm film camera, I had a cheap kodak instamatic, the difference in photos were complete opposites! From that moment I wanted an Olympus camera myself. It was a while later in 1997 I was going to France on holiday and I wanted a decent compact camera, so I got the Olympus mju II similar to the camera in this video but it had a fixed lens rather than a zoom and it was black, I still have it somewhere, I must try and find it because they are very collectable and worth a lot more now! I sold the one in this video for £180 😳😲⚠️ I bought it off ebay for £10. I have another older 1980s Olympus film camera I should upload the video I made of that. I collect all sorts of retro tech, mostly to use and sell on. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
Nice review my friend I enjoyed it I had to stop by and check it out and show my support your town smash that like button for you my friend hope you're doing well take care and I'll see you soon and I hope you have a wonderful day don't forget to be safe
I have the questions that why is the mju ii with the larger the zoom lens, the cheaper it is. I read some reddit topics and it said zooming will make the quality of the photos go worse, but if i have a olympus mju ii zoom 170 and taking a pictures without zooming then the quality of the picture equal to a normal mju ii? I considering buying a mju ii zoom 170 so hope you can answer those questions for me. Thank you.
Yeah I have noticed some commenting that the longer zoom models are less desirable! I think it is maybe because they fear over time, light will leak through the gaps in the lens barrels as they wear with age? In my opinion that has not happened on mine and having a zoom feature is a bonus, you can of course just use it without the zoom. Or maybe they feel having a zoom is just another complication if it goes wrong, more parts to break etc Again in my experience these Olympus models are very robust, built well and last. Another possibility is some image aberation around the edges of a zoomed in photo but looking at the samples I've seen they look fine to me. Hope that helps?
@@letitbe3294 They are really good cameras, I've always been impressed by the simplicity and ease of use but still give stunning results, almost everytime.
No, I sold it before I had chance to use it. 😲😊 Try lomography website here for examples - www.lomography.com/cameras/3331682-olympus-mju-ii-zoom-170/photos I have a video coming soon of my Olympus mju zoom 105 and some photos I took on holiday. Hopefully in the next week or so.👍 Stick.around I have some interesting, much cheaper alternatives to the mju range coming soon. I'm just uploading a new 35mm point and shoot that cost me less than £10 and it might just be as good as my mju.
That's what my wife said........😯⚠️😁 Oh you mean the lens......😊 No idea if the film is still ok? It's like 15 years out of date.....😁 I'm snapping away, haven't got a clue what the pics are like yet, ah the beauty of film, rose tinted and all that.....probably like the photos lol
It is very old.......this is the more modern one, I have the older mju.... I remember buying that brand new, great little cameras, hopefully this still takes good photos, not sure how bad the 15 year out of date film.will be yet....😊⚠️😁
I always love Olympus cameras. They are so durable and very sturdy. This one is all weather also. Great showing sir.
