Thank you so much! Reddit is a bit of a mystery to me, I must confess... I had a look at it, but couldn't quite fathom how it worked(!). So I really appreciate the assistance and support :)
Thank you, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! ❤ I haven't made any new videos in a while, but there will hopefully be a few new ones on the horizon this year - and meanwhile, I hope you enjoy working through the archive! If you're particularly interested in fashion, you might enjoy the videos on corsets, boudoirs, dressing tables, Mary Poppins and 'a doll's house and a dress shop' 🙂
I know I am quite late to the show.. But this was absolutely fantastic! I'm so glad this was recommended to me. What an interesting topic, made even better by your wonderful descriptions. Thank you!
I have gone through traumatic experiences lately, and this video helped me learn about Dior in a perfect way. The clothes are exquisite and I enjoyed looking them. I'd love to read a biography of Dior. I am also amazed at the bravery of his sister.
Thank you so much! It's a while since I made any new ASMR videos, because I've been sidetracked by other things - bit there will be some more coming eventually, this year!
I’m brand new to your channel. This video is total perfection! I especially loved the part where you talk about the bar suits from the different designers. I can’t wait to dive into all the interesting topics you cover here on your channel.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you've found me and I hope you enjoy the rest of my content 😊 I've been hoping to get some new ASMR talks up for a while now, but am so busy with other projects - I am hoping to make a couple of new videos later this year, though!
I know you have requests for more movie reviews, but I'd like to add a request for other fashion houses or designers, like Edith Head, Adrian, Helen Rose, etc. Thank you for all you do!
Edith Head and Adrian are already on my list - along with Schiaparelli and Lacriox :) The only reason I haven't done any of them yet is because I'm a little wary of using images on my slideshows that are still in copyright. Most RUclipsrs do and don't have any issues, but I prefer to be careful. The Dior exhibition was wonderful, because I actually attended that and so could take my own photos!
@@SoundsCurious I completely understand. Maybe there's a way to use them if its for educational purposes, but I know little of such things. I would be careful too!
This is amazing. So glad you mentioned it because the detail and information in here is golden. The story of haute couture and especially Dior/Chanel etc is actually really interesting. My girlfriend really loves these brands and at first I was a bit skeptical but once I understand the history, art, and the importance of fashion I was blown away and enraptured by the subject. The story of fashion is a reflection of the greater story of humanity. Anyway fantastic work and look forward to seeing the rest of your videos!
Thank you! ❤️ The way I look at it, fashion is both and industry and an artform. As an industry, the emphasis is on the ability to sell a product for profit - but underpinning that ability is the artistry of lots of really creative people (at high street level, as well as haute couture level) - and, as with other artforms, occasionally an artist breaks through who is truly extraordinary genius. For me, Dior was one, Schiaparelli was another... and then, more recently, Lacroix, Westwood and McQueen. I'd love to make videos about them all, but I'm very wary about using copyrighted images (which applies to nearly all fashion photography). Hopefully there will be future displays of the others, where I can go and take my own photos and tie the talk to a review of an amazing exhibition, as I did here!
@@SoundsCurious I 100% agree. I spent many years living in NYC and the fashion industry is huge there. My roomate was just starting out as a fashion designer and she was working as a low level designer for Thom Browne? I'll never forget it but she told me that there are "clothes" and then there is "fashion". I think thats definitely something to decide in the design process and both are equally impressive I feel like you say. Alexander McQueen has an absolutely fascinating story and it would be so cool if you did a video on him. And thats totally true about copyrighted images, youtube is just awful. I actually was running an ad campaign for my other job but on RUclips and I couldn't use the letters GM because it was trademarked in the title of the ad/video. So you are definitely wise to be wary. And yeah an actual exhibition would be truly amazing. For Men's fashion I do appreciate Tom Ford quite a bit in recent times. Especially for an American designer. He's an eccentric more than he is a genius but he definitely is on the border of greatness. Oh and another one I love is Karl Lagerfeld even on just personality alone! Looking forward to Renaissance time tomorrow! Have a really great evening.
@@NathanASMR You, too! Or at least - it's the next day now, for me, so I hope you did have a great evening, anyway! 😄There was as superb McQueen exhibition on at the V&A a few years ago - quite amazing, and so inspiring, I actually sat down in the cafe after viewing it and wrote a fairy tale, inspired by McQueen's life. But it was a couple of years before I started recording ASMR and so I didn't have the presence of mind to photograph everything. There'll be other exhibitions in the future, though, I hope!
@@SoundsCurious That sounds amazing! I hope you end up doing that tale because it would be fantastic Im sure. I look forward to do the day and if you do it definitely post it in the discord so I can be sure to see it. I used to love exhibitions like that, they took place in NYC all the time. Now that I am down here in Florida there isn't much of it and the fashion that is here is a certain look that isn't my favorite LOL. Have a great day! Can't wait to put on these 3 Renaissance videos!

I will try! My problem is the photography - for most fashion houses, it's still in copyright. However, I am looking at creating history of fashion talks in a different way...so watch this space!
